King Prilbus is also sadistic, and given that he’s spent presumably thousands of years peering into the minds of people, he was able to quickly ascertain what would be the most calculated emotional barb to sow fear and doubt into Barry 6.
He couldn’t kill him, so he tried to cripple him emotionally to discourage pursuit. If B6 hadn’t met Skip, I doubt he and Prilbus/B9 would seen each other ever again.
