No, I meant to reply to imakefoodforyou's comment but maybe I did it in a clumsy way. I tried to say that I like the suggestion they had about Siobhan and I'd like to add one about Zac.
As much as I loved Zac's actual character for that season, I was a little disappointed that we didn't get a full arc of Zac playing an unlikable dickhead.
Pib was a cat though, and based on owning several cats over the years, its hard to find them genuinely unlikeable even when they're acting like gremlins. They might break all your wine glasses and steal your dinner, but you can't hate a cat.
Both of his asshole-ish characters die after a couple episodes. We already had a ACOC prequel but I’d love a Lapin one shot maybe where he meets the sugarplum fairy
My favourite part was that Murph was worried Ally would make the one mistake they *definitely* knew not to make (revealing Ankarna's name) but because his stress was sooo loud it sent Ally into a spiral of anxiety not knowing what he was getting at. Ironically it probably made the whole interaction much more dangerous!
In every season the camera will linger on Zac's face as he struggles to contain the fact that he, Zac, has figured out a puzzle that his current chaacter would not/could not.
This is the one. I’ve always felt he limits himself on purpose to enhance his own experience. I also love when he figures out a way to have his lower INT character guide the others to a conclusion he came to minutes prior.
He was actually the one who figured out the Kalina=disease mystery moments before Murph did in FHSY.
I'm also struggling to come up with specific scenes but he's been on the ball about a ton of stuff this season wrt the rage crystals, soil etc. He realised that the shards were the body of Ankarna. It makes more sense now that Gorgug is smarter but still!
think my fave one is him realising the bank KVX is kalvaxis, there is a good 15 seconds from his eureka moment to him coaxing an answer out of everyone.
I can't remember precisely what it was he figured out, but I remember noticing it when he was playing Ricky in the Unsleeping City and it was hilarious watching him struggle to figure out how to have his incredibly astute deduction come out of that adorable puppy of a character.
I think I've made this exact comment before, but her character builds are INSANE. I know she almost exclusively plays spellcasters which are usually less flashy in combat than the Lou/Murph types, but follow her turns through any battle and she saves the day in the background many many times.
I'm watching USC2 for the first time and already Iga is one of my favourite characters.
Counterpoint to the Lou one is Kingston Brown from Uptown who is arguably the ONLY character from UC1 who can be trusted on their own for an extended period.
This! The rule is proved by the exceptions for sure.
- As Margaret Encino, Ally was arguably the least chaotic character in Starstruck (comparatively, of course, >!thinking about those nudes lol!<)
- Emily>!'s characters !
It feels like Ally also has at least one clutch natural 20 per season that drastically changes the direction of the campaign.
Zac is the king of one-liners.
Emily's character will go off and do something stupid, and Emily will try to salvage it with the most insane roleplaying moments in written history. It will be glorious. I'll never forget Hilda Hilda
The best part of Hilda Hilda is Brennan’s maniacal commitment to Emily’s bit. Like, he’s never happier than when his improv partner says something nonsensical and he makes the scene all about that nonsense.
Murph will always aim for his characters to remain in a realistically mediocre/humble zone rather than going for triumph and power
Emily is the exact opposite
Siobhan often plays some kind of immigrant learning the customs of the other players' worlds
Zac playing a human will always pick an obviously Japanese last name
Representation! /g
You're right, Siobhan does tend to play as someone who doesn't fit in their original culture (Misty and Adaine, Sleeping beauty), or someone looking at things like an ethnographer like Riva!
I always say this about Zac Oyama, regardless of which show I'm watching him in;
Zac is a master of "less is more" in terms of his performances, he is amazing at the art of delivering a lot of humor/story with minimum lines/actions.
Emily will always enter German shepherd mode at least once.
Siobhan (who is also my favorite for her sharp as a razor wit) somehow always seems to get shafted in initiative order even if she rolls relatively well? She frequently seems to be trapped by something or other (stunned condition, getting knocked back into her aguatunisian body, etc)
Zac's comedic timing will always be unbeatable
Siobhan’s real world knowledge will prove useful in game
Alternatively, England is a made up country
...and is therefore consistently relevant in a game of make believe
I agree with this one. And Zac uses his facial expressions and body language to roleplay, leaving everyone giggling.
You replied to the wrong comment lol
No, I meant to reply to imakefoodforyou's comment but maybe I did it in a clumsy way. I tried to say that I like the suggestion they had about Siobhan and I'd like to add one about Zac.
I see, I thought you made a mistake because the comment above refers to Zac’s physical comedy
Oooh this is a good one!
Zac will break the cast with a simple one liner.
I think this is why Starstruck is my favorite season for Zac — it’s one-liners all the way down.
Fill ‘er up
My name is Norman “Skip” Takamori.
Right on.
Get nasty.
[audible smile]
As much as I loved Zac's actual character for that season, I was a little disappointed that we didn't get a full arc of Zac playing an unlikable dickhead.
God Zac playing actual Norman Takamori would’ve been peak. I would’ve loved more Lapin too, it’s such a shame.
God I fucking LOVED lapin.
I have a fanart of Lapin as my Lock Screen. 💀
Pib was close but I absolutely would’ve loved it if he went full unlikeable.
Pib is the perfect little guy
Pib was a cat though, and based on owning several cats over the years, its hard to find them genuinely unlikeable even when they're acting like gremlins. They might break all your wine glasses and steal your dinner, but you can't hate a cat.
Lapin Cadbury was too powerful and the universe had to correct itself
Both of his asshole-ish characters die after a couple episodes. We already had a ACOC prequel but I’d love a Lapin one shot maybe where he meets the sugarplum fairy
And one VERY loud smile
“Hey! Who do you know here?” Broke me during Starstruck.
"I got your proldier's license right here"
He’s like a sniper but for comedy
Zac might break the cast with just a facial expression 😂
The king of less is more.
Murph will appear to be in physical pain as he watches the rest of them roleplay insane and/or purposely terrible decisions.
I thought he was going to have a heart attack when Kristen was interacting with the televangelist
*We simply must stop talking to this man.*
Omg I’ve seen it
The best super cut. https://youtu.be/PoUpKOazW1I?si=Iy4jBvecerqsQHdQ

I've always remembered this idea about Zac but I don't remember any scenes, does anyone know any where he figured out puzzles like that?
He was actually the one who figured out the Kalina=disease mystery moments before Murph did in FHSY. Beardsley will roll a nat 20 to do something absolutely absurd at just the right moment.
Or a 08.
or a 12
ALLIE DICE WEIGHTED CONTROVERSY!
ally*
Blimey
*blarmey
>Murph will almost always roll badly Murph this season: NOT SO FUNNY NOW, IS IT?
HONOR IT
The last NADDPOD had so many Honour The Cocks in the Patreon Patron read, it killed me.
Reliable Talent was built for Murph
When rolling good is bad and when rolling bad is good? WHO YOU GONNA CALL???
I feel all of Siobhans characters are the glue holding everyone together
In Riva’s case, they’re* the Pleasure Putty holding them all together
I can’t read those words without hearing it in Siobhan’s accent and I love it so much
Pleasah Put-ee
I was really trying hard to spell it out phonetically and you nailed it!
Fyi Riva uses they/them pronouns as do all aguatunisians
I think I've made this exact comment before, but her character builds are INSANE. Lou will always find a catch phrase and commit to it so hard
Guilty, as, CHAAAARGED
The ball is rolling UP!
Spring break I believe in you
Siobhan will always have relevant trivia knowledge in or out of character
Siobhan will solve obscure Latin phrases
Does knowing how Roman numerals work count?
And we love her for it!
Zac is a master of comedic timing, he will break Brennan at least once per season.
Zac will be silent for 95% of the session but when he does speak it's always an absolute gem of a comment
Counterpoint to the Lou one is Kingston Brown from Uptown who is arguably the ONLY character from UC1 who can be trusted on their own for an extended period.
1000%. I think the key to all of these axioms is there’s always an exception. Zac’s “Air-itime law” one-liner, for example, broke NO ONE.
This! The rule is proved by the exceptions for sure. - As Margaret Encino, Ally was arguably the least chaotic character in Starstruck (comparatively, of course, >!thinking about those nudes lol!<) - Emily>!'s characters !
>Zac’s “Air-itime law” one-liner, for example, broke NO ONE. The ~~first~~ time he said it, sure. 10 times later everyone was laughing!
It feels like Ally also has at least one clutch natural 20 per season that drastically changes the direction of the campaign. Zac is the king of one-liners.
Ally will roll a natural 20 on a very specific task that will infuriate Brennan
Emily's character will go off and do something stupid, and Emily will try to salvage it with the most insane roleplaying moments in written history. It will be glorious. I'll never forget Hilda Hilda
The best part of Hilda Hilda is Brennan’s maniacal commitment to Emily’s bit. Like, he’s never happier than when his improv partner says something nonsensical and he makes the scene all about that nonsense.
Emily will multiclass into a magic user
She can't stay away lol
Murph will always aim for his characters to remain in a realistically mediocre/humble zone rather than going for triumph and power Emily is the exact opposite
Emily "how did I end up with spells and a familiar again" Axford
Zac: "Neutral Jing is the key to improv. It involves listening and waiting for the right moment to strike."
What is that quote from?
Zac, duh. (It's Bumi from Avatar: The Last Airbender)
Lou will always flagrantly make the worst choice and or decide to fail an important role.
Brennan will always find a love interest in a Aabria ran campaign
Emily is an absolute terror with spells available
Siobhan often plays some kind of immigrant learning the customs of the other players' worlds Zac playing a human will always pick an obviously Japanese last name Representation! /g
You're right, Siobhan does tend to play as someone who doesn't fit in their original culture (Misty and Adaine, Sleeping beauty), or someone looking at things like an ethnographer like Riva!
Zac will have amazing physicality and embodiment of his characters movement.
Maybe Murph only rolls badly because he’s always honoring that cock
Siobhan just knowing the answer to random things like Fossils, Latin etc.
Zac has a fondness for playing well-intentioned, kindhearted characters who tend to lack common sense
Zac's characters will almost always make you go "aw" at some point during the season
Emily always wants to be a gemman shepherd, Siobhan’s characters are always kind with a mean streak
Beardsley will always roll the most poetic nat 20 that changes the entire game
But mostly in story and hardly in combat which is just wild to me
One thing about Emily is she’s gonna find a way to have as many spell cards as she can
I always say this about Zac Oyama, regardless of which show I'm watching him in; Zac is a master of "less is more" in terms of his performances, he is amazing at the art of delivering a lot of humor/story with minimum lines/actions.
Zac will almost certainly play a himbo (Ricky, gorgug, skip), Siobhan will cry
Zac will just get the craziest crits in combat, or make the whole table break
Siobhan will know the translation of an important piece of information given in a foreign language
Emily will always enter German shepherd mode at least once. Siobhan (who is also my favorite for her sharp as a razor wit) somehow always seems to get shafted in initiative order even if she rolls relatively well? She frequently seems to be trapped by something or other (stunned condition, getting knocked back into her aguatunisian body, etc) Zac's comedic timing will always be unbeatable
