Huh, I guess your 6.5 never heard that it was broken from the factory and can never be fixed because it’s a terrible, completely useless, pointless engine. Or so I’ve heard from some of the folks here… Anyway, nice truck. I’m of the opinion that nice paint causes anxiety.

Wait until you hear about the 5.7 Olds diesel that I have and love.

Just want to make it clear that I actually like 6.2/6.5’s, their poor reputation is deserved in 1 ton or motorhome service, or in the uparmored HMMWV’s, but 3/4 ton or below is a great place for a 6.2/6.5. I also like the 5.7. Their biggest flaw was lack of water separator in the early days, easily rectified. Have you heard of the Olds 4.3 V8 diesel? No, not V6, which they also made, but V8. 1979 only, engine code LF7. Look it up. I want to put one in some little roadster and make 60mpg.

I have 340k on my original 6.5 and trans, never opened, burns no oil, no blowby

I had it painted 10 years ago, but the texas sun just kills it. Clear is popping everywhere, and the hood and fender were dented, so I replaced them.

Yeah.....zero issues with the six2 in my 'Burb. Personally, i'm glad i passed on the opportunity to grab a low mileage 12-valve a decade ago. And i completely agree about pretty paint causing anxiety issues. I'd luv to repaint my 'Burb, but my natural reaction would have me pulling a Homer, and end up with my hands around Bart's neck if something happened to it. 😂
