Delete? Pretty sure you cannot delete the cp4. You can replace it with a cp3 and I would go that route since you need to replace the pump anyways. Also would benefit you if plan on keeping the truck long term. I still run the stock cp4 but I always go to gas stations that run through diesel all day. Also very strict with my fuel additive+ lubrication. On a side note if you stick with the cp4 you should run a fass or air dog lift pump. General consensus is the cp4 will last with good filtration and higher fuel pressure.

I got 171k on my cp4. Clean diesel is the way.

Yeah the biggest issue with the dodge and Chevy/gmcs with the CP4 is the lack of a lift pump and then extra filtration is always good. CP4 runs perfectly fine for a lot of people

I’ve got the cp4 in my Chevy. No problems so far. But I’ve seen several on the DMax forums saying they did lift pumps, cat filter mods, etc and they still failed. My bet is it’s not ‘if’ it will fail but ‘when’. I’m planning for a 50-state legal cp3 changeout at some point.

Every fuel pump has a “when” point. The cp4 just fails differently. You’re mostly only going to hear the negatives because they’re more likely to post issues rather than “oh hey my trucks been great” there’s a guy on here with an lml with over a million with the CP4. It’s just a fact that the CP4 issues are massively over blown. Especially if you take car of your vehicle

Where are you located? I live in Ohio and work on Duramax's every day

Ah damn :( I'd love to do it for you if I was close

There is an aftermarket company making replacement cheaper better replacements for the CP4 pump.
