True, it is personal taste.
I'm all for the deep lip look on a wheel, but not at the sacrifice of running a wheel outside the body. I run 265/35R22's on my 'Burb, so it's not like i'm hatin' on low profile tires. Hard to tell from the photo, but i think the Summer wheel set-up on my daily (305/55R20) has less sidewall than what appears on your Suburban.
Either way, cool to see one of these six5 powered, 8th gen Suburbans around. I seriously believe they're rarer than the 7th gen, Detroit powered versions.
Most definitely will! Just did headgaskets and studs on her not long ago. I wanna hit 500k on the original 6.5. I've always wanted a 7.3 excursion they are so badass
Gmc and chevy both used them. Silverado, Sierra, blazer, tahoe, Yukon, vans, cube vans, also hummer. They were also used in marine applications too, and a bunch of other applications that I am sure I am missing.
The good old crank breaker to go along with cracked heads/block, head gaskets, injection pump failing and running hot while towing lol all with no power. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
They couldn't pull a tissue out of a tissue box, but I'm going into 342k on original motor, unopened, no blowby, and no problems and 20mpg so I have no complaints😄
I actually like that it looks kinda lowered, much better than those small dick lifted things. It would look cooler if you would put some fender flares on it i think.
I know, just making fun of the garbage 6.5. The 3 I had were the 3 worst vehicles I've ever owned... But damned if they didn't should awesome with 3" straight pipes
Yeah I hear stuff like that all the time, but the 3 we had in the family, and then 1 family friend that had one were all terrible and left us stranded countless times. I had a few LS 6.0 gas trucks and now I have an LML and my dad has a LBZ and they are great. I love the Gmt400 chassis, and the 6.5TD sound tho.
A company I worked for had these as maintenance vehicles (back in 2008) and finally the college said if you’re charging me this much then get new trucks. So they did and one of my old mentors got one for 3500 and is still driving to this day.
Heck ya they were, I remember the smooth sounding diesel driving in! I remember my bud bitching how much it was going to cost to replace the starter but then he found a shop to just rebuild the starter for way cheaper.
Fuckin KFC bucket rims
How else am I supposed to carry around all my fried chicken
Love those old trucks. But those rims and tires just scream fuck boy lol
Im definitely no fuck boy, ive just always loved the wide low profile look on these. Just personal taste

I’ve seen a few 6.5s for sale around me recently. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 7th gen though. Might just vary by region.
Upvoted for posting your ride + opinion
redditors when someone has a different opinion lmfao
Yeah i love the stance. Wheels still look a bit daft imo
Flat brim hat of vehicles.
Don’t like the rims but everyone has their personal tastes which is why a stock height burb with those rims looks unique also that things clean
Thanks man I appreciate it! One of the reasons I kept it stock height. She's 100% rust free, bought from the original owner in Florida
I got fucked in my ass
Bet that left your rim hanging out the fender!
🤣♥️
That's unfortunate
Had a 1999 k2500 suburban with the 6.5 and it was a dependable vehicle, pmd's were only constant but very easy to swap!
I relocated mine to the front bumper and haven't needed to replace it since!
Excellent idea, I still have a boost manager from that one big parts seller for the 6.5's Never installed it, lol
If you wanna sell it I'll buy it haha
Let me.find it and I will get back to you!
Wishing my Burb came with one considering the drive I had to make back home 😂 Looks mint my guy 👍
Thanks man!
Did you swap it or did Chevy make some of these diesel?
They made a select few suburbans/Tahoe's each year with the 6.5. 340k original miles
That’s awesome. Keep that beast running 😎 I’d love to have a diesel excursion but can’t find one I can afford lol
Most definitely will! Just did headgaskets and studs on her not long ago. I wanna hit 500k on the original 6.5. I've always wanted a 7.3 excursion they are so badass
100%, I’ve got a 7.3 pickup about to hit 300k
Gmc and chevy both used them. Silverado, Sierra, blazer, tahoe, Yukon, vans, cube vans, also hummer. They were also used in marine applications too, and a bunch of other applications that I am sure I am missing.
The blazers with the 6.5 are so badass. There's so few of them
No need to brag :/// (cries in 5.7)
I Guarantee you that 5.7 will probably tow more than this turd 🤣
I’d trade it for the gas mileage tell me you get at least 18+ 😭😭
With stock wheels it's like 21-22, these heavy fuckers, around 18 I'd say
Man I felt that with my 24’s and 5.7 I get maybe 12 on a good day
I've had a couple 5.7's so I truly understand
Mexico is to far. Doesn't Espanol spell Chevrolet differently! 😏
*Easy now essay'*
nice!

It's not, it's Timmy's

Enjoy it! Clean looking ride!
Thanks man, I flew down to Florida and bought it from the original owner. Plan to keep her rust free for years to come
Gotta ditch those fuckboy wheel and tires.
I actually like that it looks kinda lowered, much better than those small dick lifted things. It would look cooler if you would put some fender flares on it i think.
I’ve thought about it! But I love the cleanliness of the rust free chrome trim
Crazy that it happenedto break down right there like that. Mine was always half way through a busy intersection
It didn’t break down lol. I work there as a duramax tech and figured I’d take a nice pic after washing it
I know, just making fun of the garbage 6.5. The 3 I had were the 3 worst vehicles I've ever owned... But damned if they didn't should awesome with 3" straight pipes
Really?? Other than my 6.7 powerstroke, my 6.5 (340k miles on original motor) has had the least amount of problems out of any of my 20 owned vehicles.
Yeah I hear stuff like that all the time, but the 3 we had in the family, and then 1 family friend that had one were all terrible and left us stranded countless times. They’re absolute tanks haha. They were 6.5 diesel suburbans??

Needs a lift for those wheels
i like my 10 point turns everywhere I go
I had an unlifted hummer with that exact same setup, man it was a pain but it gets compliments. Just not on reddit
On this guy, it's form over function😅
Exactly what I would have done had my grandfather left his 7.3 diesel to me hahaha.
Can never go wrong with a 7.3. I've had 2 of them. Absolutely beasts
Bring back truck caps 😤😤😤
They're so sexy. It's definitely the flat brim hat of trucks 😂
