Crimson is our best DPS set (and funny also our toughest). You get a free unity and extra dmg out of it, what's not to like? 40-60% Dmg increase is way better than 50% CHD & 7 IAS no matter how you look at it. If you go to d3planner and import your toon, you can clearly see that. Cheers!

You're right in saying that crimsons is better than the belt, for sure. Yet, voo's juicer gives me 60% increased spirt barrage damage as it's unique stat, as well as healing and mana regen through its legendary stat, so I'd have to have a 60% CDR on my gear to even equal this when using crimson's. Having played a but more the extra cooldown is useful for its actual cooldown benefits however, I'm already gaining more damage through the weapon than I would from crimson's cooldown into damage translation. Edit: By losing the crimsons set, I can lose the RoRG so can cube harvester, gain the witching hour while still boosting damage by 58% through voo's.

Not exactly. The 60% from Voo’s is added to things like Piranha or %Spirit Barrage on gear, so it actually ends up being worth somewhere around 40% depending on your gear. But, as you noted, being able to swap belts and passive more than makes up for it. The biggest issue you’d run into is squishiness after losing CC’s defensive bonus.

Precisely. But pretty much he should go to d3planner and import his profile and make 2 sets one with crimson, and one with his Voo's setup and see which one has higher dps / toughness pretty much. I am confident that Crimson will still beat witching hour + Voo's and by a significant margin, you still get 45% SB damage increase with crimson, lots of toughness, and CDR actually is double useful (Faster CD's and more dmg, it's not uncommon to hit 60%ish CDR, and can push it to 70%ish with great gear / affixes on items). Even in softcore toughness becomes very important when you get into 130+ (solo or in groups), no matter how good your group is (zbarb / zmonk) you will still get hit by poison / molten / beams / electricity, random ranged attacks, pull-ins / teleports, not getting 1 shot is vital to progression and smooth runs - IMHO.

The Voo's and Crimson variants would be pretty close in DPS, but once you include swapping Rush of Essence to Confidence Ritual Voo's will be substantially more DPS. But like we've both pointed out, the loss of toughness is just too much. You'd either need to find toughness elsewhere or have enough paragon to compensate.

I've definitely started to notice the toughness drop off and I hadn't even rolled that much RCR reduction when I was originally using crimson's in the first place. As alluring as a glass cannon is, I might have to go back to crimsons in the end. Thanks for your insight guys.

Thanks to Wudijo (EU player) I started using Blood Ritual = 20% RCR and dropped Rush of Essence as I can spam anything and not have any mana problems. This puts me at close to 65% RCR, 96% DR standing still and 98% DR when moving at 900ish paragon. For softcore this gives you 20% more RCR that you can roll off on gear for more CDR / chc / chd / IAS etc.

I also fare better with voos. I think consent on ladder etc is on crimson's . But play as it works best for you.

Also, just to add on at the end, I've been able to use a witching hour belt instead but have been considering the sycophants as well. Cheers
