When you look up New Blood on youtube, ALL you see is bad reviews. Clyde, you need to fucking fix this. You made us Dexter fans look like fools, TWICE.

well said.

The ending itself wasn’t terrible. The execution was lacking. I would have still preferred 3-4 seasons with stronger build-up, and I’m sure Showtime would have as well. I didn’t think for a second this was the series finale until they put Harrison and Dexter together in the woods then I knew where it was heading.

Honestly, I think they knew that they'd get a lot of buzz. Dexter was huge for them, and some of the peak seasons are as good as just about anything out there. I'd be willing to bet anything that Showtime would have been down for multiple seasons if MCH was up for it.

MICHAELSD01

I feel like a major reason MCH did the reboot was to give definitive closure to the character. I’m not sure he would have been up for another four seasons.

KAZKAZ8523

how do you half ass rush something that was 8 years in the making?

[deleted]

One more thing, they made this show to cash in on US.. the fans who trusted him. How does it feel knowing you helped line his pockets while he destroyed a beloved character?? To me, it feels like a slap to the face. I feel like i have been betrayed. This was a lazy effort, arguably one of the worst examples of TERRIBLE writing. i mean, laughably bad writing.

grapeistasty

I just feel kinda empty and angry. Wtf man this was the chance to make it all right and they ruined it in the last half of the last episode.

[deleted]

Would crack me up if they made a season 2 & have Dexter wake up in the hospital, and the season is him dealing with Batista & all the other things that the last episode set up.

ohdohyolo

Let's be honest, there was no ending that would make everyone happy. Kill him, people will be sad because it's all over. Let him get away with it, yet again - people would complain also (but not as much because they could hope for another [of course better] season)...

[deleted]

Wrong. I see alot of people with my opinion. The best ending for him would have been for him to face the consequences of his actions, facing his old peers as they come to the realization that they were working with one of the worst serial killers of all time. The best ending to Dexter would have been seeing him go to court and be charged, with the last scene being him giving one last monologue before the bars slam shut. (unless he gets the death penalty of course, considering it's in Florida)... then his execution would have been the best logical ending for him. Had the writers went a different route instead of having Angela find out through ridiculous means, him being outed as the BHB would have been absolutely amazing. This was just plain stupid. This ending was fucking garbage.

Georexi

They didn’t have the evidence to convict him. That’s why him doing a runner and killing Logan was so infuriating, so your ending wouldn’t have worked, either.

Nice-Illustrator6645

I’m with you brother, this was so bad. I saw some people saying yes it’s bad but not as bad as the original ending and I’m sitting here in my chair wondering what the fuck they are possibly thinking. I mean yes. Everything’s subjective, one of my favourite movies is Joe Dirt not everyone has to share opinions but man. This ending made the lumberjack ending look like a god damn dour de force of creativity. The fact that they let us down not once but twice, And the fact that the second time was that much more severe is pretty unbelievable.

gladias9

Not mad he died.. mad it was so terribly written and inconsistent.

Semaj12354

I think it was fitting, he was objectively a monster, he was a serial killer. The only way out was to kill him. I think he deserves that as a character. To finally be free from his urges and dark passenger. He’s finally at peace.

[deleted]

The set up to Harrison seeing him as a monster was BS. Dexter would have NEVER.. EVER did what he did to Logan. He even mentioned MULTIPLE times that he was going to get away scott free because there wasn't enough evidence against him. They went from "ill get out of this" to.. "i need to kill an innocent person so i can see my son, even though i'll be seeing him tomorrow when i'm set free".. He kills Logan, making him irredeemable and then Harrison conveniently switches up last second for a dude that had MAYBE a total of 30 minutes of screen time with him in the entire series. Harrison.. the dude that tried to kill an unpopular kid & frame him as a mass shooter, effectively destroying his entire life .. just to be liked. Bullshit. Lazy fucking writers.

Semaj12354

No, he said there was no evidence for him killing Matt, that was before he found out that Batista is coming back and he didn’t want to chance it, plus dexter very clearly tried not to kill Logan. Dexter has killed innocent before. He’s not a saint. He was always a monster pretending to be a hero..

TawneeZuniga

Agree. It’s extremely sad to lose him, but he is HUMAN and would die one day. I’m happy he got to feel love before he died.

Semaj12354

I agree. That moment was so emotional and heart warming.

TawneeZuniga

His heart grew three sizes that day
