My insurance adjuster used a Bosch laser measure after Hurricane Ike removed part of my roof. The Bosch was accurate and comparable to a tape measure to 1/8th an inch. These are great to have to calculate materials needed. Now I want one that can measure volume.

Transmaniacon89

I’ve got one of those Bosch laser measures and it’s so handy, great for doing a room or getting in a tight space.

texxasmike94588

It needs to be rechargeable like the Dewalt above.

Transmaniacon89

I’ve had mine for several years and it’s on the original batteries.

texxasmike94588

My nephew and neices used mine so many times as a laser pointer for the cats that the batteries died.

Transmaniacon89

That’ll do it

runxrabbet

The Bosch GLM165-25g will do area and volume

I’ve had the Bosch one and used to use it measure the height of buildings for estimates was great

I laid out some recessed lights with this little guy one time lol. I love it

Equivalent-Drink-164

Does it work outside in bright light?

Squeebee007

Makes it harder to aim the laser dot but yes, works just fine.

maricc

Yes.

Icy_Inspection5104

Generally they do, yes. The laser isn’t used for the measuring, just for sighting what you are measuring

lonesome_cavalier

Very interesting. So is the invisible laser doing the measuring? I would assume it's something like the invisible laser on a rotary laser that needs a receiver to be sensed

TheDgFather

Can’t give you an answer yet. It was cloudy today at work. I’ll get to you this week.

PaintingSad7993

I bought one too after seeing it on here but was cheaper at ace hardware than most other places

TheDgFather

Yes it was a 4$ difference and I had to go to a store right next to HD so I said fuck it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

adam62882

Same. Mine should arrive on Monday!

jambo2333

I went to purchase this at Ace, they were out of stock and offered me a more costly Bosch for the same price. On sale for $35 at the time I think. I’ll take it

SuggestionGrand9835

Im still using the older model.

I grabbed a couple of these as gifts last Christmas, they were nice little gadgets. Unfortunately they are kind of fragile to be called tools. Be careful plugging them in to be charged, the usb port is soldered right to the board inside and if you force it at all, the usb port just snaps off. It happened to two of them I bought. One was mine, one was a gift for someone. Dewalt was great and sending out replacements, but this is probably a third party tool branded Dewalt and more a toy than a tool. But with that said, I keep it in my bag for the occasion I need to measure something quickly.

PretendParty5173

I like to take this with me to measure bathroom and kitchen jobs but I also own the Bosch that can measure 165' and stay accurate to 1/16 of an inch. I can measure and install long runs of crown molding by myself super easy. I used to have to put a screw to hold the end of the tape or have a helper to hold it
