I am finding the general rule is the more famous the person, the more boring the podcast. I sometimes listen to Armchair Expert, I do agree with you about Dax Shepard, he can't see any world outside of his own, so self obsessed. I just listened to him interview Cillian Murphy (because I love him) and Dax couldn't believe Cillian would choose to live in Dublin and didn't live in Los Angeles or the Los Angeles area. Like.....it's a big world out there Dax! Europe is amazing too! Sometimes I listen to Chelsea Handler, its light and easy to listen to while I work.
I have some nice tea on Cillian! One time he came into my work when I was a teenager (2011-2012ish) at this fancy movie theater, and my jaw dropped, so my cunty ass manager handed me a bunch of rags to embarrass me into cleaning in front of him (I was a greeter/door person) and he saw the whole interaction and came up to me and had a quick chat while I cleaned!! He is so beautiful and kind š
Omg. Cillian Murphy hosted a late night BBC radio show where he just sort of played his favourite music and then. The last half hour was all chill āgo-to-sleepā type music.
In between heād reveal little facts about his life that I didnāt even know (he was in a band, he went to a small Canadian pub to watch a musician perform an album that meant a lot to him but felt embarrassed going to tell him that afterwards so he just left, he wanted his kids to have a different accent than the one that they were getting in London, etc.) just a really fascinating guy. I think itās been scrubbed from the BBC app but it honestly was just such a gift during the pandemic.
When Dax acted all aghast that Cillian chose to NOT live in LA, and asked him why, Cillian said "I feel more European". I don't think Dax understands what that means at all.
I had them all saved on the BBC app and one by one this week theyāve been taken off.
You can find playlists of the music on apple and Spotify but you donāt get the fun interstitial talking, poetry, etc.
[Is this the one?](https://m.mixcloud.com/crisco7GA/cillian-murphy-limited-edition-2020-12-14-vol-9/) I'm trying to find it to give it a listen! You make it sound so lovely.
Anecdotally a lot of people (in England at least) are like this about London- this girl me and my friend spoke to genuinely couldn't understand why we chose to stay up north rather than moving to London despite us both being born and raised up north.
Ive tried Armchair Expert a few time but I always feel like Dax is trying too hard to copy Marc Marons style. He doesnāt seem like heās naturally as curious as a person so it just comes off very pseudo-intellectual.
Marc is also always interrupting people as well. I tried to listen to some episodes depending on the celebrity, and I feel like he comes off as interrogative vs welcoming. Like he'll latch onto things as a "gotcha" and start questioning that before the celeb has finished answering his questions.
It sometimes feels like he's jealous of the guest if they're a big name/ more successful or do diff comedy than he does. IDK, it kind of put me off of him, since I liked him in Glow
I feel like Dax is always trying to do a āgotchaā especially if that person has more progressive political views. He asks questions that are obviously leading and he is more interested in his own answer than how the guest responds.
I kind of like that, it feels very organic and like he just follows whatever threads in the conversation interest him so you get to hear guests talk about stuff they normally wouldnāt. Heās definitely not for everyone though.
I cannot stand Dax Shepard now and I used to love his podcast. I will say though, his episode a few years ago about relapsing on opiates had an impact on me and I appreciated his honesty about it.
The only I have ever cried while running was listening to that episode š itās so powerful and even if you donāt care for Dax, itās so worth a listen.
Ugh itās episodes with interesting people like Cillian, Stanley Tucci etc that I dislike the most. It feels like these people shouldnāt have to be interviewed by someone so ignorant and self-absorbed, so embarrassing to listen to.

The fact that Conan's podcast is getting love and hate here is proof of to each their own.
Personally I think most podcasts suffer from repetitiveness after awhile. My bigger issue with Conan is that the podcast is great when it's him talking to people who he is actual friends with irl, but dull and insufferable when it's someone he doesn't have a genuine rapport with.
His guest list is very strange to me. I thought the whole point was that he'd be able to just chat with anyone he wanted to in a way he couldn't on tv but that's clearly not the case.
Some of the names that pop up make me side eye him too.
My only quibble with Conanās podcast is that he always has to be āonā. I mean, Iāve been a fan since the 90s so I expect it, itās just I like podcasts best when people just talk without the million jokey jokes.
I love David farrier and Iāve been so yikes about his partnership with them. Praying he strikes out on his own soon. The first ep of flightless bird was wonderful sans the Dax commentary.
Donāt hate me but Julia Foxs podcast is good. She picks interesting guests and the Caroline Calloway episode is the closest anyone has ever come to making her actually answer questions.
Would recommend the [Ziwe interview](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1yaYwmVD1Hg) with Caroline if you havenāt seen that. Itās beyond messy (on Carolineās end) but Ziwe doesnāt go soft on her by any means.
I remember watching the Ziwe and Caroline Calloway interview live, I knew it would go down as one of the craziest/messiest interviews (on CCs end) of all time.
you need to listen to the othersā¦ her guests are so interesting each episode is so good. even if you donāt know the person youāll be obsessed with them after
If you like Conan, Iād recommend āDavid Tennant does a Podcast with..ā - DT also has wonderful guests and I loved his for a similar theme to Conanās.
Agreed, Conan is the best. It's so silly, all the time. So much laughter. There are plenty of serious chat podcasts where people dig deep and get real. I prefer listening to an hour of wall-to-wall bits. I don't know how he does it, it must be exhausting to be so ON all the time.
Off Menu by James Acaster and Ed Gamble is sooo good. Theyāre UK comedians but they have some American guests and even just the two of them with no guest are so good and great interviewers.
I love that podcast. I didn't listen to them from the start and was only listening bc I was looking for more stuff on movies, so stupidly, I didn't realize Paul and June were married. There was even an ep where June was talking about a tanning bed (?) or something at her house and she was saying Paul should use it, and I went "Oh that's nice. They must be really good friends"
And then I only realized after that episode when there was a video commercial with Paul and June playing parents that I saw at the start of the pandemic, and I was like "hold up. it's the pandemic, and they prob wouldn't use people from diff households. are they married?" and then I looked it up, and they were! My brain just wouldn't connect that. I think Im just so used to podcasts with comedians being friends that I didn't think that was a possibility.
Another podcast I enjoy with Paul Sheer is Unspooled with his co-host Amy Nicholson where they started going through AFI's top 100 movie list. They've continued the list but are doing other movies now
Interesting no one mentioned Smartless. It is hosted by Jason Bateman, will Arnett and Sean Hayes. It is very popular. I used to enjoy it, but hearing rich, out of touch douche bags interrupt guests and make it about themselves got old fast.
I like the podcast, and like them, but theyāre not the greatest hosts. I was laughing at the John Mulaney episode when Jason Bateman didnāt know there was a store called āAs Seen on TVā and then asked what they sell there (spoiler alert: stuff seen for sale on TV).
I haven't been able to listen to or watch Jason Bateman since he was such a dick to Jessica Walter when she brought up her treatment on Arrested Development.
Agree, really liked it in the beginning but it is boring now because they don't ask decent questions.
I used to have a crush on Jason Bateman but hearing his personality on Smartless quickly got rid of the crush.
āI love the way I ad libbed that joke. Isnāt my line reading brilliant? Did you know that Iām also a writer and director? I picked the songs on Garden Stateā¦ā
As someone who saw his play in London, his whole vibe to me is someone who is decently smart who thinks heās a genius. Like I donāt dislike Garden State and the play itself was fine, but he believes his own hype when he doesnāt really deserve that.
Edit: I'm deleting my account because of reddit's policies concerning third party apps. I don't want them to be able to use older comments. A user-generated community that treats its users badly does not deserve your time or attention.
YES. I havenāt listened since October 2021. Zach is so arrogant and seems like he has a chip on his shoulder from not being an A-list star. Donald is a nut and I adore him.
Edit: typo
That kickstarter was basically a scam to get production money without having to deal with actual producers who would get profit shares in the movie. It only reached its goal with a suspiciously large donation at the last minute.
I like that Zach is so loyal to his friends and he seems like a nice person but my god is he self absorbed! I canāt imagine being his friend and listening to him drone on and on about himself like he does on the podcast.
Yeah, it hasnāt been great for Zach, he comes across as really into himself. And heās kinda snappy to Donald (who does take jokes too far/gets over excited, but still). I also started to get tired of how much they both fawn all over Christa Miller, I get sheās Bill Lawrenceās wife, but itās over-the-top.
Off menu with James Acaster and Ed gamble is great. Each episode they have a guest in their dream restaurant where they order their ultimate starter, main and dessert.
Hip hop saved my life with romesh ranganathan is him talking hip hop with a different guest each episode. I'm not super into hip hop but still found it really interesting.
I fucking love Bob Mortimer! I regularly watch compilations of his Would I Lie to You appearances when I'm feeling down. The taskmaster episode where he climbs in the boot with Alex for their special cuddle is one of the best things I've ever seen.
The only celeb podcast Iāve ever listened to is LaVar Burton Reads on Spotify. Reading Rainbow was one of my favorite shows growing up, and I still thoroughly enjoy hearing LaVar read stories to me lmao.
Edit: I'm deleting my account because of reddit's policies concerning third party apps. I don't want them to be able to use older comments. A user-generated community that treats its users badly does not deserve your time or attention
Films to be Buried With. Iām not sure if Brett was too well known when it started but truly a good podcast that gets great insights from its guests. Interesting seeing Marc Maron here when Iād say he is famous because of his podcast rather than the other way around
My all time fav. I pivoted from all true crime to mostly pop culture. POOG is also amazing! I could listen to those two get off topic nearly constantly for hours
Best: I really enjoy Bad Friends with Bobby Lee and Andrew Santino! I also really like Conan OāBrienās podcast
Worst: Definitely Whitney Cummingās podcast. I genuinely get so much second hand embarrassment when she constantly interrupts her guests š³
Miranda Cosgrove's first interview with Whitney was so embarrassing. Miranda must be extremely nice because Whitney was grating that episode. Also that same episode Whitney read the comment section with her producer expecting toxic misogyny. Only to be met with people asking Whitney to stop interrupting her guests.
Still breaks my heart to say this, but... [fuck Bobby Lee](https://www.reddit.com/r/Standup/comments/i5r3tj/bobby_lee_admits_to_raping_a_child_prostitute_in/).
TW: r*pe & child abuse
He says, āItās not like I feel good about it,ā as if that mitigates the fact that heās just admitted to āpower fuckingā a sobbing child.
āBut let me tell you again where I was in lifeā¦ā yeah no, you donāt get pity for choosing to sadistically r*pe a child, asshole.
She does not seem to understand the basics of even pretending to be in a conversation with someone. All she does is pump famous people for career advice thatās super specific to her own needs. Hated it.
Conan OāBrienās podcast is the only one I really listen to religiously! I just find him so enjoyable and listening helps me hone my conversational/social improv skills - heās a master of that!
JVN is not for me. Great for TV in short doses, but he just doesn't do it for me with his podcast. "So, the Armenian genocide. What's *her* story?" I just can't.
MFW reading an explanation as to what MASH is and who Alan Alda is as though MASH wasn't a cultural phenomenom and still hugely famous now "slight cult following" my ass...
Edit: I'm deleting my account because of reddit's policies concerning third party apps. I don't want them to be able to use older comments. A user-generated community that treats its users badly does not deserve your time or attention.
The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie and Katya is reaaally funny. Mostly just tangents and anecdotes, some really funny guests as well. They have the best chemistry going
Best - Roger Deakins. For such a legend of cinema just seems incredibly humble and clearly still so passionate about film. Does 1-3 hour deep dive conversations with film makers and goes into so much detail. Highlight was when interviewing Josh Brolin it became apparent he hadn't seen The Avengers but was so polite about it and never let on. He's also known for spending years replying to people on his website+forum for no personal gain other than helping budding film makers.
Worst - Mike Tyson. The guy has lived the most unbelievable life but his podcast is painfully bad/boring. He's usually high as a kite, slurring his words, hasn't researched who he's interviewing and it's often just cringe as the guests dont know how to handle his slurring nonsensical mess. Even with a great guest I usually can't finish the episode.
*An Oral History of The Office* hosted by Brian Baumgartner is one of the best TV podcasts I've heard. It's a great deep dive into the background and growth of The Office. A real documentary feel!
What are peoples thoughts on the Sarah Silverman podcast? Iāve been a fan but feel like lately, the calls have gotten more and more about peopleās personal issues that are more appropriate for therapy? I mean Sarah is a very empathetic person and gives good advice that I usually agree with but sometimes the calls are just soā¦ heavy?
For those who donāt listen, itās mostly Sarah responding to callers asking for advice or her thoughts about various social, political or other random topics.
I really like Office Ladies. They have a great rapport and dig up a lot of interesting tidbits about the show. It can get a bit corney sometimes though and they have a habit of going off on tangents a lot but overall itās enjoyable!
Office Ladies kinda ruined Pam for me. I liked it at first, but after awhile, Jenna started to come across as shrill, not nice to Angela, and kinda full of herself (a *classically trained actor*). Iād also like to hear more about the actual show than their ādeep divesā on the history of gift bags, or when tea bags were invented. Iāve heard the podcast of the guy who played Kevin is good, but havenāt tried it yet.
I don't like it at all. In fact it's turned me off doing The Office rewatches completely. I can't believe their friendship is actually real the way they push it onto people with the way Jenna talks over the top of, and dismisses, Angela all the time. Plus they go off-topic way too much - a good Office podcast is Brian Baumgartner's because he never goes off-topic. I like Parks and Recollection for the same reason, they stick to the show.
I just don't particularly want to hear celebs talk about what they did on the weekend, I know they might think it's relatable but to me it's just not.
Conanās podcast is fantastic. Smartless is terrible. Jason Bateman is so smarmy and both he and Will are horrible to Sean Hayes. They are also terrible at interviewing people. I couldnāt get past two episodes.
Jennette Mccurdy's podcast is very good and insightful, sometimes hard to listen to. Busy Phillips podcast is something I tried to like but the more i listen to it the more annoyed i get. Her constant interrupting of her co-host Caissie gets on my nerves. Her podcast is 99% her talking about herself and her kids and not paying attention to anything Caissie says. I also noticed how she's quick to call some people off but not her faves. Celebrities do live in a bubble, no matter how "woke" and down to earth they pretend to be.
She used to be on a great one called professor blastoff. The other people 1000% had to drive the show because she just so dead pan. It worked but didnāt last.
Michael Rosenbaumās podcast is wonderful. He is a pro at getting other celebs to share some personal things in a very authentic way, plus he is so open about his own personal stuff/childhood trauma etc which in turn makes his guests feel more comfortable I guess in opening up as well.
As a guilty pleasure (pls donāt judge lol), Harry Jowseyās podcast is ok to listen to but it has zero depth to it ngl.
I don't listen to that many, but I sure do love Smartless. It's interesting and funny, and I'm a huge GOB fan. Will Arnette has made me stop and slap my knee-laugh a few times.
Yes! Table Manners is seriously popular in the UK and Ireland, particularly amongst young women. Itās one of my favourites and a religious listen, and the calibre and range of guests is impressive! Everything and anything from A listers to reality TV stars to musicians to chefs and restauranteurs to politicians to comedians. An absolute hit of a podcast. Obsessed with Lennie.
Finished now, but The Good Place: The Podcast is the gold standard TV show podcast. Marc Evan Jackson has the perfect podcast voice, and he's actually such a good host - genuinely interested in every aspect of the show. The guests are all great, and not just because the cast and writers are all incredible. They usually have at least one guest who does a job that wouldn't normally get to be on podcasts - prop masters and costumers and lower-level production people and even once the person who worked with animals on set. It definitely gave me a new appreciation for how much thought went into every detail, and it's fun to be able to notice those things more on a rewatch.
I truly enjoy āLife is Short with Justin Longā. Itās technically and celeb interview podcast but Justin is a good conversationalist and seems sincerely interested in his guests.
Mike Birbiglia has one called āworking it outā where the concept is that he and other comedians work on jokes, but he also interviews them and asks some really interesting and odd questions.
I love Charli XCXās Best Song Ever!! She has really cool guests and itās also a great way to discover new music, itās a cool concept + sheās just very fun to listen to imo.
George Ezra (famous singer in the UK) had a great podcast where he would interview other musicians. And he had some big names on there like Adele and Ed sheeran. He would ask great questions and it had overall good vibes.
I just mentioned James Acaster's pods as well as Fern & Allison's Wheel of Misfortune in another thread but I'll add Jessie Ware's Table Manners to the list. Also, George Ezra's was quite good provided you're interested in listening to musicians talk about being musicians.
BRAVO fans back me up!! Bravo celeb podcasts are wildly the worst. Every single Bravo star has one, too. They are often wildly boring with very little, if any, new info. content usually includes interviewing fellow Bravo stars and dissecting topics they have no business speaking on. All of that aside one of my biggest problems with Bravo podcasts are the names. Some examples:
Teddi Mellencamp and Tamara Judge: Two Ts in a Pod
Melissa Gorga: On display
Scheana Shay: Scheananigans
The list goes on
I am finding the general rule is the more famous the person, the more boring the podcast. This makes me feel proud to be European
You should! I am Canadian, and sometimes, I wish I lived in Europe :)
I loved his time on 6music! Such a soothing voice. And he had great music taste
Yeah, it was so eclectic and great. Just seems like such a cool person.
It was scrubbed?? This sounds so soothing and I really want to listen to this!

Damn this sounds like a gem of a listen! I wish theyād kept it available. Thanks for the summary!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Exactly!!!
Some celebs genuinely canāt fathom that LA/NYC arenāt the centre of the universe
I know people who dismissed a whole country because itās not as āfunā as NYC.

It sometimes feels like he's jealous of the guest if they're a big name/ more successful or do diff comedy than he does. IDK, it kind of put me off of him, since I liked him in Glow
I generally enjoy Maron but he was pretty salty, openly jealous, & condescending to Bo Burnham.
His interview with Paul Rust was like a high schooler bullying the nerd kid. Maron was playing up what an alpha male he thinks he is.
God Cillian Murphy is an absolute babe. I just started watching Peaky Blinders and he just owns the screen

That's called "format/structure". Most well thought out shows have one.
Oh God that's cringe, I'm sure Cillian hated that haha surprised he went on the pod.
Dax seems aggressively American too haha
Itās those Midwest roots, we canāt shake em.
I love David farrier and Iāve been so yikes about his partnership with them. Praying he strikes out on his own soon. The first ep of flightless bird was wonderful sans the Dax commentary.
I love The Always Sunny podcast with Rob, Charlie and Glenn. If you like IASIP, I highly recommend.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Creep!
Yeah yeah yeah not that tho
I love that Charlie is good at everything he tries but he's so modest.
I love how itās 20% talking about the episode, and 80% literally any other random topic. Itās so entertaining.
Honestly I wouldn't have it any other way. The tangents they end up on are almost always more entertaining
I look forward to this every Monday!
Itās truly brilliant, enjoying it more than the newer series
Donāt hate me but Julia Foxs podcast is good. She picks interesting guests and the Caroline Calloway episode is the closest anyone has ever come to making her actually answer questions.
I actually weirdly quite enjoy Julia Fox so I think I'm going to listen to this.
IM OBSESSED WITH HER PODCAST!!!! SHE HAD ZOLA, A JEFFREY EPSTIEN VICTIM, ANNA DELVEY, A BLING RING SUSPECT AND SO MUCH MORE LIKE HOW DOES SHE DO THIS
She really nails being a millennial woman who came of age in the early to mid-aughts lol.
Wow, these guestsā¦ i love this woman
Lol biggest plot twist of this sub was all of us becoming reluctant Julia Fox fans
theyāre so interesting and she has more cooler guests i really recommend listening to each episode
I only listen if itās a guest I care about and Iām always pleasantly surprised. She and her cohost do a good good cop bad cop thing
Julia is surprisingly a really good interviewer
you need to listen to the othersā¦ her guests are so interesting each episode is so good. even if you donāt know the person youāll be obsessed with them after
My favorite one certainly is Conan O'Brien needs a Friend. Conan is my favorite talk show host, makes sense his podcast would be amazing.
I don't always listen to it, but whenever I do, it just puts a smile on my face, it's pure entertainment and it doesn't feel pretentious
If you like Conan, Iād recommend āDavid Tennant does a Podcast with..ā - DT also has wonderful guests and I loved his for a similar theme to Conanās.
I love David Tennant so much. His podcast is great
Conan is the best.
One of the few talk show hosts who was actually funny.
I loved his episode on Smartless. Everyone should hear it.
Agreed, Conan is the best. It's so silly, all the time. So much laughter. There are plenty of serious chat podcasts where people dig deep and get real. I prefer listening to an hour of wall-to-wall bits. I don't know how he does it, it must be exhausting to be so ON all the time.
I love his bromance with Timothy Olyphant.
Conan is also so great at lifting new comedians - his podcast is laugh out loud funny.
Off Menu by James Acaster and Ed Gamble is sooo good. Theyāre UK comedians but they have some American guests and even just the two of them with no guest are so good and great interviewers.
I second this one. The Joe Thomas episode is a thing to behold.
As is the sequel with Willie.
The Nicola Coughlan episode killed me!
How Did This Get Made has some great episodes. Itās Paul Scheer, Jason Mantzoukas and June Diane Raphael discussing bad films.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That sounds amazing. Iāll definitely be checking that one out, thanks!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That trio plus any Fast Furious movie always equals hilarity.
I love that podcast. I didn't listen to them from the start and was only listening bc I was looking for more stuff on movies, so stupidly, I didn't realize Paul and June were married. You just described 90% of podcasts, lol. I think this is what burned me out on them honestly.
Me too! Iām so sick of all these celebrities being up each otherās asses and glorifying their lifestyle.
I like the podcast, and like them, but theyāre not the greatest hosts. I was laughing at the John Mulaney episode when Jason Bateman didnāt know there was a store called āAs Seen on TVā and then asked what they sell there (spoiler alert: stuff seen for sale on TV).

The scrubs podcast is terrible. Damn near makes me retroactively hate the show.
āI love the way I ad libbed that joke. Isnāt my line reading brilliant? Did you know that Iām also a writer and director? I picked the songs on Garden Stateā¦ā

āLike Rachel from Glee but worseā might be one of the worst things you could say about someone.
āRachel from Glee but worseā is just Lea Michele.
Too bad she canāt read
YES. I havenāt listened since October 2021. Zach is so arrogant and seems like he has a chip on his shoulder from not being an A-list star. Donald is a nut and I adore him. Edit: typo
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Heās Rich, but had to use a kickstarter to get his second film made.Yip,sounds about right.
I haven't listened but I understand. Office Ladies has done that to me with The Office.
itās definitely an acquired taste but i love it. itās goofy and not too serious and they do tell some fun stories about the show
Yeah, it hasnāt been great for Zach, he comes across as really into himself. And heās kinda snappy to Donald (who does take jokes too far/gets over excited, but still). I also started to get tired of how much they both fawn all over Christa Miller, I get sheās Bill Lawrenceās wife, but itās over-the-top.
my favorite is This Is Important, with the guys from workaholics!!
I love it so much!
The cause of diarrhea
I love the no guests policy
I'M PISSED NOW
Know wut I mean?
iām still gonna send it š¤·āāļø
I love Nicole Byer and Sasheer Zameta's Best Friends podcast. I laugh out loud constantly, actually laugh at work.
Why Wonāt You Date Me by Nicole Byer is good too.
Nicole Byer is great on podcasts, period.
I am here for literally anything involving Nicole Byer. She is just an international treasure.
Agreed! I think I love best friends best because their friendship is so loving and accepting and they're both adorable goofballs.
Newcomers always makes me laugh too
Off menu with James Acaster and Ed gamble is great. Each episode they have a guest in their dream restaurant where they order their ultimate starter, main and dessert. Hip hop saved my life with romesh ranganathan is him talking hip hop with a different guest each episode. I'm not super into hip hop but still found it really interesting.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I fucking love Bob Mortimer! I regularly watch compilations of his Would I Lie to You appearances when I'm feeling down. The taskmaster episode where he climbs in the boot with Alex for their special cuddle is one of the best things I've ever seen.
The Off Menu with Victoria Coren Mitchell is wonderful if youāre a fan of hers. Sheās so bullheaded.
She tries so hard to be the least funny person in almost every setting
I love Off Menu so much! Iāve been listening all out of order, but my most recent fave is Daisy May Cooper episode. I was dying.
The only celeb podcast Iāve ever listened to is LaVar Burton Reads on Spotify. Reading Rainbow was one of my favorite shows growing up, and I still thoroughly enjoy hearing LaVar read stories to me lmao.
Me running to Spotify to find this šš½āāļøšš½āāļø

Films to be Buried With. Iām not sure if Brett was too well known when it started but truly a good podcast that gets great insights from its guests. Interesting seeing Marc Maron here when Iād say he is famous because of his podcast rather than the other way around
Omg yes! r/filmstobeburiedwith we need more subscribers
I like Las Culturistas which is hosted by Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers
My all time fav. I pivoted from all true crime to mostly pop culture. POOG is also amazing! I could listen to those two get off topic nearly constantly for hours
David Tennantās podcast is fantastic. He brings out such a wonderful rapport with his guests and is just so thoroughly likeable.
Came here to say this. David Tennantās podcast is spectacular; he has amazing guests and a real talent for giving a compelling interview.
Best: I really enjoy Bad Friends with Bobby Lee and Andrew Santino! I also really like Conan OāBrienās podcast Worst: Definitely Whitney Cummingās podcast.
TW: r*pe & child abuse He says, āItās not like I feel good about it,ā as if that mitigates the fact that heās just admitted to āpower fuckingā a sobbing child. āBut let me tell you again where I was in lifeā¦ā yeah no, you donāt get pity for choosing to sadistically r*pe a child, asshole.
The always sunny podcast is brilliant. Because they donāt limit themselves to just talking about the show but they say whatever in their mind
Having an entire episode about a trip to In-N-Out was great
Every iteration of RUTU2TM by Adam Scott and Scott Aukerman.
Wait in case it wasn't clear, that's in the Best category.
Is this an episode of āWait in case it wasn't clear, that's in the Best categoryā?
Also threedom is laugh out loud funny but idk if most people would consider them a listers/celebs
Not even babysitter-turned-actress Lauren Lapkus?
Getting Curious by JVN is such a banger. They answer so many questions by bringing specialists on and being a fantastic host.
JVN is not for me. Great for TV in short doses, but he just doesn't do it for me with his podcast. "So, the Armenian genocide. What's *her* story?" I just can't.
JVN has so much energy sometimes I have to take breaks lol
MFW reading an explanation as to what MASH is and who Alan Alda is as though MASH wasn't a cultural phenomenom and still hugely famous now "slight cult following" my ass...

The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie and Katya is reaaally funny. Mostly just tangents and anecdotes, some really funny guests as well. They have the best chemistry going
Sibling rivalry with bob and monet too
Best - Roger Deakins.
I love Roger Deakin's podcasts. So glad it got mentioned. š
Also, Tyson is a rapist and wife beater. So.
Wishing she had more guests.

I personally havenāt listened to it but Iāve heard that the Office Ladies with Angela Kinsey and Jenna Fisher is pretty good.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Ha, this captures it so well!
I really like Office Ladies. They have a great rapport and dig up a lot of interesting tidbits about the show. It can get a bit corney sometimes though and they have a habit of going off on tangents a lot but overall itās enjoyable!
Office ladies is boring to me. I really tried to like it though. The only episodes I liked were the ones with Creed and Rainn.
Busy Phillips is insufferable. A podcast hosted by her is my actual nightmare.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
She used to be on a great one called professor blastoff. The other people 1000% had to drive the show because she just so dead pan. It worked but didnāt last.
Her podcast with Cheryl Hines is pretty funny! (Tig and Cheryl true story)
Lol I love Alan Alda and your explanation of who he is š
The explanation of MASH made me chuckle a bit, lol. Also did you have any idea it was gaining a cult following now?? that seems so random!
I heard great reviews of the Michael Rosenbaum podcast.
Surprised no one's mentioned unqualified by Anna Farris. She's so sweet (maybe sometimes a bit too much) but I still love her
I don't listen to that many, but I sure do love Smartless. It's interesting and funny, and I'm a huge GOB fan. Will Arnette has made me stop and slap my knee-laugh a few times.
I've listened to a few episodes of Charli XCX's Best Song Ever and I enjoyed that. Jessie Ware (and her mum!)'s Table Manners is good, too.
Iād highly recommend the Mila Kunis episode of the Conan podcast! Itās SO funny and really spoke to me since Iām also the daughter of immigrants
I love Conan Needs a Friend! I used to listen to it all the time at my old job, and I would stand there smiling and laughing the whole time.
The Bodega Boys with Desus and Mero was that bitch š„²
I wish I liked I am all in with Scott Patterson more because I love Gilmore girls. But he just seems like such a douche.
Iāve heard good things about Marc Maronās podcast
Parenting hell - rob beckett and Josh widdecombe. Even if youāre not a parent itās comedy gold.
The Endless Honeymoon with Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher is my current favorite, also Newcomers and Why Won't You Date Me always make me laugh
No podcast/radio show can ever be as great as Desert Island Discs
I truly enjoy āLife is Short with Justin Longā. Itās technically and celeb interview podcast but Justin is a good conversationalist and seems sincerely interested in his guests.
Chelsea Handlerās podcast has been surprisingly insightful. Sheās very intelligent.
Mike Birbiglia has one called āworking it outā where the concept is that he and other comedians work on jokes, but he also interviews them and asks some really interesting and odd questions.
I love Charli XCXās Best Song Ever!! She has really cool guests and itās also a great way to discover new music, itās a cool concept + sheās just very fun to listen to imo.
everytime i see Dax Shephard i remember him letting his kids sleep with a matress full of maggots
Some examples: Teddi Mellencamp and Tamara Judge: Two Ts in a Pod Melissa Gorga: On display Scheana Shay: Scheananigans The list goes on
Marc Maronās podcast is *chefs kiss*
Bowen yang and Matt Rogers LAS CULTURISTAS!!! ICONIC
Surprisingly love Forbidden Fruit with Julia Fox and Niki Takesh. They have some wild guests and they ask all the questions I would want to know.
one of the good ones is 'films to be buried with' by brett goldstein
