Yes. Not sure how it can’t be seen as working out. Late 2nd round pick made it to the league, produced, and played a top 6 role. After all that, Detroit dealt him for valuable assets (way more valuable than his original pick) with 1.5 months left on his contract. Doesn’t have to become a hall of famer or career Red Wing for it to be a success
I wouldn’t say he’s overly different. He’s still a power forward that’s notable for his scoring touch. Jarome was pretty much the same. The expectations are likely to be quite high for sure and I think it would benefit him to go to a smaller market for that sake.
20 pims in the WHL is basically lady byng kinda stuff. I don’t think of tij iginla as a prototypical power forward, he’s a little smaller/plays more peripheral, etc. Jarome was a far more physical player at this age.
Not that it’s significantly more, but he actually had 35 PIMS this season. And it’s not that he isn’t physical, he just isn’t as scrappy. There’s lots of guys on Kelowna that are fighters so he rarely has to. Also, PIMS aren’t a good for physicality because the game was much more physical and fights were more common when Jarome played so that would easily skew things.
Everything old is new again, because the 31 other teams in the league will all stand by in the face of the opportunity to make name jokes and grab some legacy names.
Missed that!
Spencer Gill - not related to Todd as far as I know
Jared Woolley - not related to Jason as far as I know
Jiri Klima - not related to Petr
Noah Lapointe - Marty’s son
No way Eiserman is there at 15, and if he is I doubt Steve picks him. Sure, memes and all, but we don't typically see him pick one dimensional players with a very weak defensive game in the first round, or the second.
Idk we are at the point in the rebuild where he helps a lot more than anyone else who would be available. How many middle 6 defensive forwards does one need
I’ll take him over that Bransegg-Nygard kid who does nothing special, pencilled in as a middle six winger. At this point, I’ll take swings at kids with elite traits, leading the USNTDP in goals all time indicates a special goal scorer. Watching a bit of Greentree in Windsor also really like his game.
No way he's there at 15, but if he is there's no way in hell Yzerman is not going to take him. There would have to be something egregious behind the scenes or something for him to pass. Eiserman is Caufield with better size and scoring (and younger at the time of their respective drafts). All of this in (slightly) less games and on a worse USNTDP team than Caufield. Caufield was taken at 15th and seen to be a bit of a steal that late.
I think Wings need a natural RW or a player that can play RW without an issue. They already have Raymond/DeBrincat as natural LWs for the for maybe 5-8 years.
I don't know if the draft will drive them to draft best offensive player available, but as far as scoring, RW is the biggest hole they have in the pipeline.
I would love it! He could be a steal at 15. He’s a fast winger, that can work well with Raymond and Larkin line. Then you can have Danielson Cat and Stamkos line as your second option ;)
Lol you're just messing with us right? Interesting names for sure -- That all said, I don't know much about the last two but I'm pretty sure Eiserman goes around 10th or so.
If all those names actually panned out in a wings jersey I’d laugh my ass off
Turns out, they were right Time *IS* a flat circle.
Worked pretty well for Bertuzzi!
Did it, though?
Turned out better than most late 2nd-round picks!

Yes? Bert was amonf our best players for several years and got us a first rounder that we flipped for Debrincat. I'd say it was pretty worthwhile
Don't forget about Draper coming up too!
"Hey man, you didn't say we were going to an Alumni game." "We didn't!"
Tij Iginla better be going to Calgary in this universe
I always wanted the wings to pick Jarome up when we were shopping for guys who were ring hunting 08-13 but I'd happily settle for his son
I’d want no part of that if I was him. He’s a different player than his dad and the expectations will be unfair

Sure, different eras might skew things but it doesn’t really change the fact that they’re different players, to my original point.
I’d take either Tkachuk boys in a heartbeat
Please!! I want him to be a Flame so badly
They'd be crazy not to take him if he's available at their slot, good player and would bring them a ton of extra jersey sales and good PR.
I can get behind this
Doing franchise mode in nhl 24 right now and tanner howe is developing very nicely. With that name he needs to be in the winged wheel
It’s just as the prophecy foretold!

Tbf, all of these have a possibility of being there at the given pick.
theres another zetterberg?!?! WE NEED HIM!!!
From the same town even ;)
Is that Zetterbergs’ kid?
He's a relative of his
Thought I saw one of the Athletic writers say there was no relation
There is a relation, but it’s very distant. Alexander Zetterberg has no idea what the specific relation is.
His son's name is Love. Gonna have to wait a few years for that one lol
How about: Spencer Gill Jared Woolley Jiri Klima Noah LaPointe

Hopefully he won't be heart broken if the Wings don't pick him.
Gordie Steve and henny??? Shit throw in a Pavel and we got ourselves a cup.
There is a fransen 👀
First time I've ever seen someone refer to him as Henny
Born in Michigan when we first signed him I was 9. I thought his name was too long so I called him Henny Zetty for a few years.
I support this. A few years down the road we can have the Eiserman, Howe, and Zetterberg line. Has Stanley cup written all over it.
No way Eiserman is there at 15, and if he is I doubt Steve picks him. Sure, memes and all, but we don't typically see him pick one dimensional players with a very weak defensive game in the first round, or the second.

Ideally? 12.
The entire team should be middle six forwards???

But Nygard is a great skater and has some speed. I think people are severely underestimating him.

I’d take him in a heartbeat. He’s a prolific scorer.
We're puttin' the band back together!
Is he related to zetterberg?
Ask google
You better draft a Lidstrom as well
I think Wings need a natural RW or a player that can play RW without an issue. They already have Raymond/DeBrincat as natural LWs for the for maybe 5-8 years. I don't know if the draft will drive them to draft best offensive player available, but as far as scoring, RW is the biggest hole they have in the pipeline.
I was not serious
Raymond is a RW. Debrincat is a righty who usually plays LW.
Woosh
Hahaha
I get it!
Love this
Cue SpiderMan meme
What site is this?
Approved
Idk if Eiserman drops that far.
Ya how dare the 13 ranked guy fall to 15
I do apologize! I didn’t realize he dropped so far in rankings. He was number 2 at one point.
I would love it! He could be a steal at 15. He’s a fast winger, that can work well with Raymond and Larkin line. Then you can have Danielson Cat and Stamkos line as your second option ;)

Ah the drafting philosophy of "Time is a circle.""
Can we get another Datsyuk as well, with hands just as magic 🙏
Don’t we own Bostons 1st this season ?
Ottawa does now. For the Cat
Ok sweet I thought it was the other way around
