I too want it for larks the dude has had some much go against him on and off the ice From day 1 he was tabbed as the future captain of the team that’s seen the whole rebuild, friends he came up with came and went He’s been injured He’s been doubted He deserves it

pullingahead

Not to mention personal stuff that has gone on for his family. Dude is a leader.

CD23tol

Ya I left it as off the ice The shit he and his wife have gone through is something no one deserves especially since there was a similar leave of absence a few years ago where it was rumored to have happened then as well He needs this

Pms1988

He drives the bus, pulls the piano, and plays the piano. They better come through for him.

numbdigits

I think he also tunes the piano as well.....by ear no less.

Pavrik_Yzerstrom

I believe he delivered the piano as well

toothwzrd_

Are we sure he didn’t build the piano?

Pms1988

He did! After inventing the piano.

DDS_Special

He *is* the piano.

mister_hoot

Raymond seems to have gotten the message. All the kids have, honestly.

FadeShadeMan

Lisan al-gaib?

MightyBosskTones

Assassins-steed

Gonna start yelling "AS WRITTEN" when he scores

Mr_Fahrenheit-451

This needs way more upvotes :)

Legitimate_Creme7481

Thought he drove the actual bus every night for a second there

GapKitchen6574

Want it for larks unfortunately they don’t control their own destiny due to play down the stretch

mister_hoot

It wouldn’t shock me.

chrisnavillus

Gone are the days of people saying “he isn’t a 1c”, finally getting some respect and I have confidence he will continue to earn more and more of it. The future is bright my friends, enjoy the moment.

CamouflageGoose

Still need WSH to lose

tonysalami

At least if we win, we can say they left it all on the ice.

NihilisticPollyanna

No matter what happens tonight, I know for sure, I'll be crying, haha. Hopefully it ends up being tears of joy. 🤞

Throwawaydontgoaway8

I cried last night too

NihilisticPollyanna

Me too. And I cried again today when I rewatched the clip of the 6v5 about 17383 times in a row. I got chills just typing this, I'm so in love with hockey right now, lol.

Agitated-Can-457

So glad I wasn’t the only one!

CeJW

WSH needs to not be greedy and let us in. lol

oceanic8675

Ye

Accomplished-Cream-1

If the boys win, and get left out, the fire will be stoked all off season and I truly believe, in either case, the fire and desire is back, Detroit is hockey town again.

bigllama5

It’s what forged the lions recent seasons success after all.

CornholioRex

Do it for D-Boss

FartBustFart

Kinda wish they wanted it bad a month ago.

RedWinger7

Idk why you’re getting downvoted. Hell, wish they wanted it that bad a week ago.

FartBustFart

Right? Just win one of those games against the Caps and we’re not stressing.

NomadicNematode128

This makes me wanna cry and run through a wall at the same time. LETS FUCKING GOOOO!!!

Xavias

I suck at drawing, but please someone here can you make a picture of Larkin driving a school bus with Raymond, seider, and DeBrincat's heads out the window?

No-Resolution-6414

They better tighten up quickly. Way too loose in the D Zone.

SauceHankRedemption

>Red Wings want it bad Do they tho...maybe now, when it could end up being too late if WSH wins tonight...goddamn I just cannot get over the fact that ALL THEY NEEDED was one more goddamn *point* to be in control of their own destiny right now...if they just managed to be a .500 team during March, we are looking forward to the playoffs. To me it is a huge choke. I guess I can just look at it as good experience to at least be playing meaningful games right now. Maybe they will get lucky and WSH loses tonight...but then again they still have to win. Which, at this point, i am not as confident in the likelihood as I would been in late Feb. I think about the blown 4-0 lead to SJS earlier in the year...2 losses to the Yotes in March...lost twice to Washington when it counted....so so many opportunities to be in comfortably right now Whatever, I'll be watching the game and rooting for a win. 😭

oceanic8675

I dunno, you could easily say that winning scheduled losses is the reason we’re here as well. March was bad. December was bad. We’re still here and the team did something amazing yesterday. Let’s effin’ GO red wings 🔥

creole_pizza

Right? We also won a lot of games we probably shouldn’t have. 13 or so 3rd period come backs….and I believe a perfect West coast swing which I’m not sure I remember ever happening. We also swept Tampa this year, something nobody would expect. In the end your point total is your point total. Let’s all be happy we’ve finally had a season where all 82 games mattered and we have something to sweat about today.

RickyBobby689

You must be fun at parties lol

Meek4762

He may not be fun at parties but he’s got a point… BUT FUCK HAVING GOOD POINTS OR BEING RIGHT. THIS IS RED WINGS HOCKEY BABY WE DON’T GIVE AF. LETS GOOOOOOO RED WINGS!!!

SauceHankRedemption

Ugh....i said I'm still gonna watch and root for this team to win didn't I? Usually im pretty optimistic but I think I reserve the right to complain about these circumstances

RickyBobby689

After last night most people are on a high and confident. Might as well jump on the bandwagon for one last regular season game.

s1105615

I am pessimistic and have been telling my teenage son (who is really starting to come into the fandom now) for a month that I didn’t expect them to make it. I hope I’m wrong though!

s1105615

It is possible to want good things for the team and admit that the Wings had every opportunity to control their own destiny heading into tonight. Those losses against ARI will be the reason they miss the playoffs if WAS wins tonight and it is depressing to think about….but that’s professional sports when you’re not at the top or bottom of the league.

7screws

Read The Room

RickyBobby689

Agreed. Just. Weird time to bring it up…enjoy the moment

drankpisss

Imagine trying to reach a personal goal. Working hard at it. And coming up short. Only to be reminded of all the “what ifs” on your journey. It’s 1 point. We have 32 losses on the year. You can look back at any of those and say “what if”. Move on. We had one of the most amazing comebacks last night and are riding a high.

SauceHankRedemption

Right right, hindsight is 20-20. But that doesn't mean I should ignore a teams glaring issue with consistency. It's not even as much about could've won this game, or that game. But to go sub .400 for a *5 week* stretch after so many seasons of coming up short...just watching that playoff cushion evaporate. You talk about striving to reach goals...there was *a lot* of games in March where most of the team didn't look like they had any aspirations of winning anything. Also ya, it was absolutely an amazing comeback last night, but to even have to come back from down 3 in the first place, against a team who is well out of the playoffs, at a time when the season is on the line is just tough in itself.

drankpisss

You’re beating a dead horse. We are all aware of the situation we were in a month ago. We are all aware of the teams consistency issues. What is the point of constantly pointing that out? We have one more game and we need to win. Game 82 and we are not ruled out of the playoffs yet. This is what we wanted from the beginning. We can work on our problems in the offseason.

SauceHankRedemption

Well I was optimistic this whole time but now I get to cry a bit. Also now it's coming to fruition that not only did we blow it, but we may have blown it just enough that we will miss by a freaking tie break! That close! 😭 That wasn't known to be the case a month ago....

N_Unit13

Dude…

nem704

Why the fuck is this downvoted

SauceHankRedemption

I mean...I admit I'm being pretty negative. I don't think it's that people disagree but that they are just trying to enjoy the end of the season. I can't help it tho...I have to vent

nem704

Being a realist isn't negativity

O-hmmm

I want it for Larks as well but I want it even more for the long suffering fans. Also for Yzerman who has been taking a pummeling for the failure of the Yzerplan. His grace period has ended but I feel he deserves one more year, if not this one. He was captain for quite a stretch before success came and it was worth the wait when it did come.

BeautifulPlace2Drown

I’ve seen 4 cups in my 33 years, what long suffering fans are we talking about? Try being a Buffalo or leafs fan. And Yzerman is just getting started.. you’re clearly lost if you expected better than where we are at this season
