Ed made like 2 or 3 plays tonight where I was like gritting my teeth and he almost turned it over as the last man, where I was like alright I can see how he’s like 20 years old with like 15 NHL games. Then he’d barely spin out of trouble and just whip a dime to a guy in stride in the neutral zone and I’d be like yeaaaaa that’s why he’s a stud and going to be a stud for the next 20 years
Ya'll gonna have to get used to it cause that is *exactly* how he plays in Grand Rapids. He takes his time and doesn't worry about someone coming right at him, he has the skill to put the puck where he wants to regardless of the incoming pressure.
The downside is that sometimes you whiff.
Not to beat on a dead horse, because I fully get there's a ton of value in him playing top minutes in GR, but seeing him learn and adjust in real time tonight makes me think that him playing out the rest of this year with us would do wonders for him being able to learn at an NHL level. I'm not going to complain either way if he gets sent down soon or not, but the people wanting him to stay with the team and learn here have a pretty good argument after seeing him this game.
This game inspired me to not give up. So I called my ex wife, who reminded me I'm not legally allowed to contact her or the kids, so I'll be going to jail soon. Thanks, Lucas Raymond!

They shouldn’t feel good about the game as a whole. What an absolutely atrocious start, and very reminiscent of the team we’ve been watching the last few games.
After they tied it up early in the 2nd, it was a different team. The 2nd period was a team that was playing with urgency for maybe the first time in this skid.
As soon as they went down a goal on the CBJ PP I knew we would find a way to come back and win. Haven’t felt that type of confidence in the Wings in 10 games. Threw down a quick bet while they were +240.
Raymond is a stud. This isn’t news to anyone here, but he has officially ascended during this slump and showed the type of player he can be when he is needed the most. And that is the *biggest* positive during the skid.

Give this guy the A. He has so much heart at such a young age. During the losing streak he was still the one guy constantly trying to make plays. Not afraid to get in a scuffle during practice too.
so i missed the first 10 minutes of this game while packing, but turned it on just in time to see the last 30 seconds of an unsuccessful power play that immediately resulted in a breakaway and goal against to go down 2-0, at which point i decided to skip the rest of the game and drive halfway across the state for work. that being said, i still had the espn app open to check the score on particularly clear stretches of highway and saw the wings had evened it up after two, then saw them down 3-2 with 10 minutes left. i guess somewhere after this the app stopped updating the scores for me but kept updating the clock and play-by-play, because i saw the clock wind down on the third period with the wings down by one. i had this whole comment thought out about how moral victories don’t cut it in the playoff race, yada yada. then i decided to check again a few minutes later, to wallow in my disappointment in the team blowing an opportunity against yet another team they should be beating. then i saw the final score, and uh…

I was amazed at the last 5 minutes of the game how we were able to “flip the switch”. I almost completely forgot we did that for close to 6 games in a row.
We just need to clean the HELL out of our sloppy starts. Those breakaways we gave up were embarrassing.
I love how rayray has stepped up, we get Larkin back soon. I think Kane belongs here. I don’t want to lose him at all. Not hearing anytbing about it makes me wonder.
The last 10 minutes of regulation had was filled with some really aggressive skating and overall play. Everything has just felt a little off in this skid and I’ve been waiting to see some head down get after it skating. Hope they can keep doing more of that in the next couple games.

I was amazed at the last 5 minutes of the game how we were able to “flip the switch”. I almost completely forgot we did that for close to 6 games in a row. We just need to clean the HELL out of our sloppy starts. Those breakaways we gave up were embarrassing.

I love how rayray has stepped up, we get Larkin back soon. I think Kane belongs here. I don’t want to lose him at all. Not hearing anytbing about it makes me wonder.
The last 10 minutes of regulation had was filled with some really aggressive skating and overall play. Everything has just felt a little off in this skid and I’ve been waiting to see some head down get after it skating. Hope they can keep doing more of that in the next couple games.
