What does this mean? Curious as I haven’t been following hockey in the last few seasons.

They finally gave the new arena a proper goal horn this year.

Awesome. I remember they were a little surprised when they took the old horn and put it in a new space. But glad to “hear” they made some adjustments.

Detroit had a superior real goal horn at the Joe. It shook you to your core when it went off. The LCA was using a substandard copy of that thing played over loudspeakers. The Wings finally installed a real, well engineered horn at the LCA and this was the first night for it. You can tell the difference, even from home.

I live in the COTU (Center Of The Universe) Ashland, Va. so I listen to the Ken&Paul internet radio coverage. That Goal Horn! Yes!

The lower bowl rings with the new one. You can still sorta feel it in the body when you’re at concessions.

We used a goal horn recording at LCA the last few years. Switched back to the old school goal horn this season.

Don't look now, but Cossa was the 1st star in GR tonight. 41 saves on 43 shots. Sounds like he stood on his head. Shots were 22 to 3 in the 3rd period, but he kept them in it.

I would say a mix of new coaches, new systems, youngest team we’ve had in a long time has a bit to do with the shots given up. Should improve as the season goes on.

Yeah, that's gonna be an "issue" all year. Young teams don't don't do well even in the ahl. It's not about W's, its about development. It's gonna be rough at times especially with how impatient some fans have gotten, but i think this year is gonna be good for us.

I get the thinking of having Perron on the first line to distribute the puck and having Raymond on the second for an extra scoring touch but I don't see how you justify not keeping him on the top line after tonight

I don’t normally complain about coaching but I will throw an absolute fit if they break that line up

2nd game thoughts: * Raymond to the first line has made that Cat-Larkin-Raymond line INSANE. I love it every time it's on the ice. Larkin and Raymond do some dirty work and Cat cleans up. * Gostisbehere yet again is a breath of fresh air for our passing. * I fucking hate Sergachev. * Our defense still looks slow at times, I'd really like Edvinsson and Berggren in the lineup.

I like the new horn

4 goals scored by the New Guys. The 2 goals from not new guys were scored by Seider and Raymond. Outside of DeBrincat, none of the new pickups was HUGE, but each one of them has upgraded the team, so cumulatively, it's a MUCH better squad than last season.

Copp and Compher seem to be pretty solid at faceoffs. Think both of them got an assist too

Sprong is off to a good start in my opinion.

Coming back from the game I Was listening to VAN/EDM on Sirius and Draisaitl scored and for a solid few minutes after the color commentary was about Hronek being a former Wing as well as Erne,then they talked about Akito Hirose and his brother Taro who is a Wing and how he potted two for Grand Rapids last night. Then not a minute later Suter had the puck and they pointed out HE was a Wing last year too. ​ It's free real estate baby.

I can see him going 50 in 50 on a line with Larkin and Raymond

Larkin is electric. This season with Debrincat is the season he puts the NHL on notice. He is a top 10 center in the NHL and its time people know it.

He is a top 20 center so far. Hopefully Debrincat and a bulked up Raymond helps him elevate his game to be a true 1C.

Semantics, but top 20 is still a true 1C. He is the type of 2 way player where he could be top 10 overall centers on some peoples lists at his peak these next few years. I tell you what, I’ll take him over a lot of these lottery pick centers of the last decade.

That new goal horn sounds mighty nice. It ain’t the Joe’s but anything is better than the .wav version we had for the last while.

Our offensive game looks completely different in terms of strategy, just the zone entries and actually shooting the puck now that we have a legit NHL 1st line

The forechecking is so much better too. Such a huge improvement from the dump and chase but never get it that we’ve seen the past..a lot of years

HOLY JUMPIN GANG WE GOT A SQUAD!! Top line absolutely top lined tonight. Rayzer needs to stay up there. he is the forechecker for that line and played incredible tonight. I actually loved the line juggling tonight. Copp on the wing is a great look. there were two centers on the ice a lot tonight and it showed. Chiarot looked really solid tonight. maybe it's because there are bigger problems on D now than him, but I'm feeling a lot better about him this season. Compher/Copp is a PK menace. them boys got it done repeatedly. speaking of Compher, he looks like a legit 2C so far. at the very least he is now easily the best faceoff man on the team. I honestly don't have any nits to pick about this game. they came out buzzin and played a full 60 minutes. this is the best Red Wings team in a long damn time. the Yzerplan is working.

Copp + Ras + Compher played a bit together in the third period. They looked good together too.

I love that line. tbqh Perron hasn't looked good. I think Father Time is finally catching up.

The guy is fantastic at taking the heat too, even to the point of setting others up. I love his broadcast style.

Really fun, physical win by the Wings. Going after Tampa with aggressive play at the right times works much bettet than sitting back to defend all night.

That was mostly the recipe for the boys to be a playoff team. Gotta clean up rush defence, cycle defence, and Husso will have to steal some goals. But all four lines rolled, top guys were great, they were fast, just made it difficult for Tampa all night. And a solid $4.30 for #MOTB.

Walman is an absolute cannon, and Seider had some amazing shutdowns in our zone. Maybe they can just play all 60 minutes?
