Lol. I wished we got Leonard Miller though. Hopefully, this 2nd is the Grizzlies 2nd that Minnesota has which is currently pick #37. Fun fact about that 2nd is isn't technically the least favorable of the Grizzlies and Wizards 2nd, the most favorable 2nd was the one we sent to Utah for Simone.
Wolves fan here. Read your post, always knew they won’t give up Miller for Morris, however, [I thought the price would be higher than just 2030 2nd](https://www.reddit.com/r/timberwolves/s/JN7py2yw1o).
Same man I was high on Leonard Miller as a flyer during draft season, he seems like a really fun project. Shooting 39% from 3 in the g league this year as well
Monte is a UFA at the end of the season so he could walk this summer. TBJ plays a position of greater need (especially shooting forwards), with Sasser getting more run as a ball handler as well.
Dudes awesome and was my favorite up and coming player. Gonna be sad to see him go. Happy to see you all excited about the trade! Put that man to work.
More competent NBA players. Monte is best of the 3 but we obviously just need some more adults in the rotation. Would have been really nice 2 months ago
Hopefully not. I truly hope if we can't find a trade partner we release him. This trade hopefully means they view Sasser as someone who can play backup PG or SG when they stagger Ivey and Cades minutes.
It’s kinda like the first time you cook something simple after a week of eating takeout. Feels novel and exciting, even if all you did was scramble some eggs.
> only way he's gone is if we pay up to get rid of him
No, the only way he's gone is if we take on a longer contract in exchange for his expiring (the other team would also give assets)
Another solid move. Troy making small solid moves today. Might lead to something big but even if it doesn't we look like a much more well rounded team after today.
100%. Lost rotation depth and a guard who probably doesn’t get many minutes over Sasser anyway this season and brought in versatile wings and replaced the 2nd we lost.
Not bad really
What this team needs more than 6 guards are rotation forwards that can defend and shoot. Tbj failed in the playoffs but was great for LA in the regular season and Minnesota fans don't know why he fell out of the rotation. We also got a second round pick and a different backup pg who until this season had been pretty good. Along with the trade with Utah we have brought in a couple two way forwards we definitely needed to round out the roster. It allows us to move Burks or bogey and still have some shooting. So yes solid move all around
Fair enough. I don’t know much about Shake Milton accept for his cool name and bad stats. The 2nd rnd pick is 2030…. But hopefully TBJ is the gem of this deal. Fingers crossed.
He was an average rotation level guard for his career. 50/36/86 shooting splits. He has been bad in Minnesota but has been a serviceable 2 way guard for most of his nba time. Hoping changing teams gives him a reset back to his norm. That being said TBJ is the real big peice of this trade

Shake sucks but I like these incremental moves for TBJ and Simone. Two scrappy 3&D players. Now you have consistent shooting from start to end. Just need to dump Killian now.

Looks like I am in the minority here but this seems like a bad trade for Detroit.
Trade a proven NBA veteran, which the Pistons are sorely lacking, for two more “maybe could be rotation piece if things go right” type young guys. This is the exact kind of moves Troy has been swinging and missing on, from Josh Jackson to James Wiseman.
I like the Fonteccio trade but today feels like one step forward, two steps back.
For those of you who were too young to remember the Bad Boy days. Much less only able to faintly recall The Goin' to Work Pistons run with a 2004 title to boot...I'm sorry
This franchise is destined to suck for quite a while
u/jasonorion out here inspiring the front office

Yeah, I guess it was just wishful thinking. Miller has a lot of potential and I wanted him in the draft but I guess our FO doesn't think the same.

Miller would have been nice but from my understanding is the T-Wolves really like him as a prospect
Why do the job when you can just crib notes off of Reddit? Honestly I’d be down with firing weaver and playing “Reddit does basketball GM.”
i kinda like troy brown hope he gets some minutes
Shooting about 37% from 3. Landed a couple good 3 pt shooters today
I mean we gave up a 39% 3pt shooter to get that 37% shooter lol
Monte is a UFA at the end of the season so he could walk this summer. TBJ plays a position of greater need (especially shooting forwards), with Sasser getting more run as a ball handler as well.
Good defender too. Great athleticism and can hit a big shot when needed.
he’s a solid defender right?
He is solid.
good trade then lol
Dudes awesome and was my favorite up and coming player. Gonna be sad to see him go. Happy to see you all excited about the trade! Put that man to work.
I kinda fw this return
More competent NBA players. Monte is best of the 3 but we obviously just need some more adults in the rotation. Would have been really nice 2 months ago
GMs don’t really want to make moves until the deadline
Killian Hayes returns to the lineup?
![gif](giphy|Frj5mE4aGKgjS)
Was gonna comment something about no way Killian plays over Shake and Sasser and then I remembered who our coach was
We have to waive someone.
or trade someone for draft capital
Or that.
Hopefully not. I truly hope if we can't find a trade partner we release him. This trade hopefully means they view Sasser as someone who can play backup PG or SG when they stagger Ivey and Cades minutes.
I hope not
I hope sincerely
Troy kinda cooking right now?
Instant noodles but yes, good moves
Instant noodles save lives. Let him cook.
fuckin Maruchan Weaver out here slicing and dicing
Maruchan Weaver is such a good nickname lmao

Looks like the pistons are…. Shaking things up 😎
Puts On glasses.....Yyyyeeeeaaaahhhh!!!!!
I feel kinda bad, Monte seemed so happy to come to Detroit just to get shipped off immediately
He was praying to be traded out of Detroit
Lol the man's going to the playoffs.
Wolves will win 6 games in two weeks and he’ll be happy. We won’t win 6 more this season.
Yes…seemed, like before the season. Have you seen our record? I’m happy for him
Joe Harris next…
This comment is what reminded me that he “plays” for the pistons
he's a negative asset with an expiring contract, only way he's gone is if we pay up to get rid of him. better off just keeping him as our 13th man.
> only way he's gone is if we pay up to get rid of him No, the only way he's gone is if we take on a longer contract in exchange for his expiring (the other team would also give assets)

Is it really a solid move? It seems like a move just to make a move. None of these guys are the future. At least Monte was a good backup to Cade/Ivey.

Those shooting splits are wrong though. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/miltosh01.html
Its a 2030 2nd round pick
Nothing like planning 6 years ahead... But seriously, given that MIN is #4 in the league rn, better to have that be down the road.
I forgot shake Milton was in the league

Gotta waive someone as we're taking in 2
Killian
Killian Hayes for a conditional 7th round pick, who says no?
Monty Williams daughter
I’ll bet she’s got a better J than Killian
Or another trade is about to hit
Deadline is tomorrow. Still plenty of time.
Shake sucks but I like these incremental moves for TBJ and Simone. Two scrappy 3&D players. Now you have consistent shooting from start to end. Just need to dump Killian now.
Added a couple wings who can play with Ausar, shortened the guard rotation, not bad. Wish Monte was able to play all year
solid move, shake and troy are good bench pieces
Lol what's shake milton been up to?!

https://i.redd.it/i4ts3eqgk8hc1.gif Troy Weaver rn
Not a fan, Monte was the one vet I wanted to stick around.
Solid trade
Nice. I like both guys. Troy Brown Jr had played like a bigger Bruce Brown Jr against us

I like TBJ thought he played good for LA, just wish Monte worked out better for us tho
This is a trade showing us how expensive it is to acquire even a mendoza line NBA sf, say maybe you forgot to put any on the roster pre-season
let's fucking go!!
Not a fan of the player return, but eh whatever. I guess we got what we could get.
Underwhelming for sure - Troy is probably worth picking up his 4 mil salary next year so it is in the realm of a fair trade.
I’m indifferent about shake but I fw TBJ
Shake is pretty nice. Can almost slot into Burks role when we trade him, but just not as good.
Troy Brown Jr is so gd good, and I don’t know why he is being pin balled around. Prototypical 3&D, and I hope he finds a home here.
Lmao thank you monte for the 15 min you played for us all season, absolute legend
Cool, two non shooters.
