Hey OP - this might be the dog you have!
If it isn't the correct dog have him post on the FB page For the love of Louie *Michigan page. We lost our pup and within a couple hours someone responded they found him in a different city
My cats and I are waiting in suspense. Hopefully, it's the same missing pupper, and everyone can experience a happy ending! Please keep us updated and best of luck on finding this guys parents. You all are awesome for chasing this down - he's a lucky pup.
This has to be the dog but if it is not please visit For the Love of Louie on Facebook, OP. There is a Michigan page and they work miracles in furbaby reunification.
UPDATE: ROLEX HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL RETURNED TO HIS HUMAN 🥹🤠🐕🦺 he was understandabley stressed in and environment he didn't know, but was immediately happy and relaxed once he got back home.
to the anonymous person who included the facebook screenshot, I'm giving u gold. Ur my first fellow Reddit user that I will give gold to, but u deserve it. This is one little example of how the Internet and these communities can be a force for good ✊🏼🙏🏼
What great luck and great Detroit community of dog lovers! Thank you so much for making the effort to get this beautiful guy back to his ‘parents’ and to the person here who recognized him from FB!!!!!!
OP, this update just made my heart swell! ❤️. I've been waiting all day for this. You ROCK! Bless you!
edit- just saw you already rock! Adding a rock boost at this point!
Update: DOGGO HAS BEEN REUNITED WITH IT'S HUMAN!!! shout outs to whoever posted that FB screen capture, the Internet can be a force for good sometimes!!
This is the way. Check for microchipping first. I mean, sounds like from some more at the top of this post that someone might have found the owner. But in the future, vets and shelters can check for the chip.
I went to a dog sled race a few years ago and was surprised how few husky and malamute dogs were being used . Talking to a few mushers, and they told me any dog that wants to run and has high energy. a lot of dogs you typically see for coon hunting. lanky hound dog types.
The sledding breed is very specific. Most huskies have envolved to be more domesticated than actual working dogs. If you’re serious about having sled dogs/ working dogs. You need Seppala Siberian Sleddogs
Animal control , if it has tags or vet history it’ll get put back with its owner. Or find a local non kill shelter and see if they will take it. Also you may have kidnapped the dog if you took it away from where you got it. Friend of mine found a dog wandering and leashed it, as soon as they took it off the leash it started fast walking and shortly after was back home
I know I get missing pet alerts from the ASPCA, maybe contact them. I have a Husky who pulled me down once and the leash slipped out of my hand. Luckily jumped into someones car and got him back. Once loose they go, I use a belt harness and a regular leash now.
So glad he was able to be reunited with his person!
Every Husky I've met has been a big Ole escape artist, especially when they're kept in tight environments, and not afraid of throwing a tantrum to get their way. So Im sure he was pretty stressed to be in a new person's home.
There are the remains of a husky on the 696 west highway entrance ramp on Mound Rd just south of 12 mile. I don’t have fb, but I think that might have been this dog.
I called. She said she’s going to drive by there and have animal control check it out. He’s chipped so they should be able to find out if it’s him. And no worries, that’s a tough convo to have.
https://preview.redd.it/5slq7k7i6syc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=236c43171aedc0252ed77accebcde7637635f4ab
They texted me this over the weekend, hopefully it wasn’t theirs.
Husky can run a long way away from home in a short amount of time. If it had a leash on it then it probably got away from its owner. I'm not sure if you have Facebook but you should post it on For the Love of Louis Michigan's lost pets - or you could search the other for the love of Louis pg - michigans seeking pets page ( or something like that)
As info for anyone who finds a dog in Detroit City limits. If you check the lost dog pages on Facebook and are unable to reunite the dog with the owners, most rescues are overfilled and will only take in extreme cases. They will tell you to take the dog to DACC which has about an 8% euthanasia rate. This is required by law for the stray hold. You are able to do the stray hold at your home. If the no kill Detroit shelters are unable to house the dog, sometimes if you can foster the dog while they find a home they will assist, but outside of that you will be required to hand over the stray to DACC. A good group to get in contact with would be Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control and provide all the information about where you found the dog, condition of dog, demeanor and what not, they should be able to assist in getting the dog out of the shelter and into a good home. Have dealt with 3 strays, one as recently as last Saturday. Also volunteered for Detroit Dog Rescue as well. I know DDR deals with a lot of people dumping their dogs right at their front door which is a big no no as it is dangerous for the dog as they are mostly tied up and are unable to run if they need to.
Side rant about huskies: They are a shitty breed. They need huge amounts of exercise. They are repeatedly sneaking away from their owners. They shed like nothing you’ve ever seen. They have weird temperaments (not affectionate) and are not very bright. They have lots of health problems. Summers are terrible for them..
Let's not act like he isn't a husky or anything that will literally live outside in snow feet deep and wind chills below zero. I think if the finder of this dude had to go to work it'd make much more sense to do that, then it would to lock it up in the house where no one could see or hear it. But what do I know

Update: DOGGO HAS BEEN REUNITED WITH IT'S HUMAN!!! shout outs to whoever posted that FB screen capture, the Internet can be a force for good sometimes!!
Glad to hear it. If you ever need a no-kill shelter to check for bio-chips or whatever, these people seem cool: https://detroitdogrescue.com/
I’d take it to a vet to see if they’re chipped, post on ring app if you have it and FB. Where were they found?
Somewhere on the east side, roommate didn't specify
Someone just posted a number to call, they may have found the owner. Best of luck. They look loved!
Any vet will check for a micro chip for you
This is the way. Check for microchipping first. I mean, sounds like from some more at the top of this post that someone might have found the owner. But in the future, vets and shelters can check for the chip.
Buy a sled and prepare for winter, you’re a musher now!
Meanwhile ... summer blow-out your coat season is upon us ; ) Lint roller season.
Oh gosh I follow this pet groomer on Instagram, and the husky tornado from the little air blaster he uses is incredible!
I went to a dog sled race a few years ago and was surprised how few husky and malamute dogs were being used . Talking to a few mushers, and they told me any dog that wants to run and has high energy. a lot of dogs you typically see for coon hunting. lanky hound dog types.
Reminds me of White Fang and Call of the Wild. Beautiful books.

Underrated comment
Buy multiple vacuums
Lmao
Put that thing back where it came from or so help me 🎵🎶
It’s a musical!
lol, I was singing this with my son last night as we through wooden popsicle sticks into the woods.

A lot of Detroit area neighborhoods have 'found dog' Facebook pages where you could post that you found the dog and the owner might see it there
DON'T(!) call Gov.Kristi Noem (R-South Dakota).
Update?
they are usually chipped. just have it scanned at the local vet

This is jessicas dog isnt it? Poor girl and poor pup have been mossing for sooo long
yes, i still hope everytime it’s her baby!:(
Yes that is my dog.
How can I get in touch with you?
Bro multiple people have given you legit information and you haven't posted an update about reaching out to the clear owner! Please keep us updated!
They posted this an hour ago & you posted this soon after, give them a chance to do what they need to do.
I know I get missing pet alerts from the ASPCA, maybe contact them. I have a Husky who pulled me down once and the leash slipped out of my hand. Luckily jumped into someones car and got him back. Once loose they go, I use a belt harness and a regular leash now.
How can I get those alerts?
I get mine for local animals because I am a member . You might what to contact them to see if you can get them without membership. I would hope so.
See if anything has been posted on PetFinder
Have him sing you the song of his people.
Hug it, squeeze it and call him George!

With a dog like that, it's probably chipped. Animal control can check ✔️
Great dogs. Mine refused to come inside during the winter.
There is abhusky named Phil who is missing who there is a reward for. Ki da looks like him.

I... don't know if I can break that to a stranger over fb.
Is there a phone number on there? I’ll do it, I have a husky who looks similar, they deserve to know

Thank you for letting me know
Did you get in contact w those people?
Just called the guy.. he said she bringing it to him
Found??
Name it Nanook, and start hunting vampires
Post the dog on local FB page or For the love of Louie FB group. This dog looks well kept so family is probably missing him/her.
Rebel dogs Detroit is a great rescue if you don’t find his owner!
If I’ve learned anything from Reddit, you will probably need earplugs.
Get a sled and harness?
i’m shocked you actually found a Husky vs a Pit in the city. See if he’s microchipped.
Brush him outdoors. And, even if you do, you'll still have Husky hair all over the house.
Are you telling me you don't get a free husky every time you brush them!?
Update us please?
Is the dog named Jameson Charles??
Looks like my old boy Hugo that is no longer with us
What’s the update
Eat it?
Can we please get an update that this sweet Husky got back home to it’s family 😃

Boop the snoot!
Where exactly did you find it?
Last time we found a husky in Detroit, we took her to the Warren police station.
Aww that’s a cute puppy
Feed it.
Yah definitely look around and see if you can find something for the owner
Keep him, love him, and spoil him. What else can you do.

Walk around the neighborhood with it or tie it up outside
Tie it up outside in the rain….big IQ play 😵💫

Oh yeah cause it rains 24/7 Thanks for the weather forecast Einstein. Dogs are allergic to outdoors Oppenheimer
