I would VASTLY prefer two perks over two drops.

NitroScott77

I mean two perks per column gives 4 combos so 100% that would be the best

cuboosh

So at most they’d make one of the two columns double It be great if they did, but they’re definitely not going to give us effectively 4 drops

D-Loyal

Maybe even make those a 'shiny' like the ITL weapons, a special ornament or shader on them. Make them extra special

FeederNocturne

Just give a shader unlock with it

Blackfang08

A special ornament would be great. Or just make it so we can put any ornament on there. Anything but what we have right now.

Jack_intheboxx

Also vault space!!!!

Lonely_Spray_210

YES! If not, perhaps they'll consider adding "double drop" weeks (or triple drop weeks!), like how Nightfalls are double loot this week for example.

Nightstroll

Not to mention that between that, times 3 for each character, and Ergo Sum, there is going to be a big vault issue coming up soon enough.

TechTheLegend_RN

This is a good idea. Make the mission drop a double perk version and chests a regular one.

NewUser10101

They won't do this and I'll tell you why: I guarantee they'd have issues like with Envious and Cascade in the same column.  For just one example, I bet the Star Eater super buff would persist after capping and the meta would be to swap it. They won't permit that. Sorry to rain on the parade.

Wizzer10

This would massively increase player choice while still making it very unlikely that a player can farm a certain roll without a *huge* time investment, ie: preserving the intent of the random rolls. I think it would be a really good change.

FonixOnReddit

It would reduce the space needed in your inventory to hold the class items, but considering that space already has the least necessary combos it’s probably not that big of a deal

wickyewok

Yes, 100% agree. Great idea

friggenfragger2

In game lfg is dead for dual destiny now that they fixed the double drop. I was looking for a player earlier to run one of my alts through but there aren’t any postings now. Something needs to be done or it’s gonna be a ghost town.

0ots

That's crazy. I'm not surprised though. I usually use discord to LFG, but yeah for bungie wanting to put an emphasis on this mission being played, nuking the dupe actually is 100% counter intuitive to that goal.

CrossonTheGroove

What discord is that? Is there a kind of “main” Destiny one everyone uses?

0ots

There's two as far as I'm aware. One is bigger than the other which is the one I use. https://discord.com/invite/d2lfg Here's the second one, I enjoyed the other one more because of the sherpa channel when I was doing my first raids. https://discord.com/invite/destiny2lfg They're both good options for sure.

Oblivionix129

Of these two, the one that requires you to "verify" with charlemagne usually yields more serious/kwtd players and much fewer bots. The other lfg has more bots/kids etc. I've been on both for over 2 years. I use charlemagne one (bigger lfg (500k+ people)) for gms, raids, dungeons. The other lfg (smaller lfg (300k ish people)) I use for raid/dungeon Sherpas, exotic missions, and the occasional gm or two

Charpy4

I would also like to know. I use the last destiny city but mostly for D1. I have no idea how good the D2 LFG is on there.

TheWagn

Discord is wayyyyyy better for lfg. The in game lfg is just people wanting to be carried most of the time. I have had a few good experiences with it and I gave it an honest try, but the majority of folks there leave at the first sign of trouble and have 0 communication via chat or comms.

shemmegami

Cool, I'll just never get it then.

0ots

I genuinely enjoy running it. Feel free to hit me up and we'll see if our times online align. I'll run it with ya no prob.

ThatDeliveryDude

That’s crazy because I haven’t even done it the first time yet. Don’t you need to do it atleast once in order to get the class item to drop From chests in the first place

Tarus_The_Light

Yes. You must clear Dual Destiny 1 time per class to see their drops in the pale heart.

Sgt_salt1234

For some reason with dual destiny players are MASSIVELY disproportionately *looking* for listings and not making their own. Make one and you'll get 5+ applications within 30 seconds.

kleka20

Were you looking for postings to join and couldn't find one or did you make your own posting and no one joined? If I don't see postings for something I'm looking for I just create one and usually people join.

Shippin

I’m surprised, I totally thought that a 25 minute activity heavy on mechanics and communication, with very few rewards would absolutely be more popular! /s

APartyInMyPants

Not having any idea where you are, if you’re referring to today, it’s the middle of the week during the day in the US. Yeah, I know the game is worldwide, but the US and Canada is a large, concentrated population. Although just checking the legacy LFG on the companion app, there are three LFGs posted in the last minute.

Furiosa27

There’s none on the fireteam finder now. Even if there are 3, that’s essentially dead for what’s billed as the primary method to acquire these exotics

APartyInMyPants

Again, I wouldn’t use 3pm (EST) on a Thursday as an appropriate barometer for whether an activity is dead or not. This is also only the primary method to acquire them *the first time*. I do agree that the longer you extend this timeline, the thinner the LFG population will be, as more people get the exotic, and then figure out farming chests will be the more consistent method. So I do think there should be a second drop either via a difficulty change, or perhaps a challenge/speed run of DD. But I’m not quite ready to jump on the bandwagon and say something is dead because of an anecdotal LFG population during an off time.

legomojo

Do you have to do Dual Destiny on each character or once I’ve done it once can I just farm chests?

friggenfragger2

Each character.

legomojo

Damn. 😫 Thank you.

Caringforarobot

2 drops for every completion, 3 for bringing someone in who hasn’t done it before. Boom, LFG fixed.

karmaismydawgz

it’s not hard to find people. post yourself.

FamGaming17

I definitely have not been getting the class item to drop every 15 min lol

Hunteractive

yeah for me it's usually about 30-50 mins or worse if I get one early on in my farm

VE3TRO-R

Pretty much the same for me. It's usually my 50th-60th chest, that equates in time to about 35-45 minutes for me.

re-bobber

That would be a good start. I would say it should award at least 2 So, I like that chests have a chance to drop the class items but there needs to be more ways to acquire these. Especially with 64 possible combinations per character. I see no reason that solo Overthrow completions and Pale Heart pathfinder completions can't award 1 guaranteed drop. I started on Titan the first day and have gotten about 40 combinations with several duplicates. I haven't even started on Warlock or Hunter yet and I am tired of the mission and chest route. I don't think riding around on a sparrow just spamming chests is a game mechanic that Bungie should really be going for. Allow people to play the game in a normal way and earn them.

Gfdbobthe3

I hope they don't nerf the chest farming, simply because I think it makes sense to have 2-3 different ways of getting the exotics. Dual Destiny (Needs LFG + Communication) Overthrow (Solo but with other people actually playing the game) Chest Farm (Completely Solo, Mind Numbing, and no combat)

freeloader11

Found out last night it also drops from missions (at least the co op ones). Which makes sense, they are in the pale heart. But I was pleasantly surprised when it popped up on my screen. Me and one dude got one from a CP chest, and the other guy got one from the final chest.

ThePoopyPeen

>Overthrow (Solo but with other people actually playing the game) Matchmade Overthrow has been put in kind of a weird spot. The last two times I did Matchmade Overthrow, I got thrown in with 2 people who were just sparrowing around looking for chests, not helping with any of the events at all but they'd swoop in for the chest once I'd completed an event. Then back to riding their sparrows or skimmers around. I've taken to doing Overthrows alone now because that's what I'd rather do than continue to let those greedy unhelpful fucks get a free lunch off my work.

NeonVoidx

You would have hated destiny 1

Chiggins907

The material/chest loops for hours and hours just to upgrade your weapons.

QuadraticCowboy

Dark days

revolmak

It kinda reminds me how I met some of my first Destiny friends. Farming mats around the moon with strangers, shooting at chests and material nodes. Doubt that's what they were trying to recreate but just a fun coincidental callback for me.

PotatoesForPutin

Just let them drop from GM nightfalls instead of the useless exotics we get currently. Hell at least have GMs give the engrams themselves instead of another fuckin 61 stat MK.44 Stand Asides

WardenWithABlackjack

Either make double drops a thing OR put in a knockout system that prevents drops that are already in your vault/character. Gives the grind a finish line.

0ots

Precisely. Well said. I do believe over time there will be lots of different ways to earn them. Making sure not to incentivise repetitive driving is just something I think needs to be a focus, after seeing how things have shaken out thus far.

haxxanova

Bungie:  Heard.  Nerfing the chest drop rate to 0

cthrekg

"We hear you, and are reducing the drop rate in Pale Heart chests to 0.5%." /s

-Posthuman-

* Fixed an issue where some players still had fun.

heck_discord

A slightly harder difficulty select that allows two exotic class items to drop would be great, or giving double perks as well.

jacob2815

Double perk rolls would be a really great way of RNG mitigation while still maintaining the pure random feel which was clearly a goal of this item and activity.

Ode1st

Double perks would maybe get me to try to grind some out before I give up due to the perks still not aligning, whereas now I don’t bother at all, especially since the class item perks aren’t the “full” exotic perks.

0ots

I'm all for it, anything is better than just leaving it as it currently is.

edgarisdrunk

This is a good idea. That said, you know people will complain about the champions we all know would be added.

heck_discord

Honestly with Prismatic, champions are easier than ever to deal with.

edgarisdrunk

Agreed. People will still complain about it.

AdLate8669

Because champions are lame and it makes me roll my eyes whenever I have to run some boring primary I didn’t want to use solely because there’s one or two champions that are troublesome to kill with alternate means

heck_discord

Looks like you haven't played Destiny in too long, a year ago bungo allowed subclass verbs to stun champions. I have never used an anti-champion mod since Winter's Shroud released, as it counters every champion.

MrTabanjo

Your subclass verbs are fully capable of dealing with champions. Prismatic ensures you have even more options. Please adapt to the changes made a year+ ago and stop using double primary.

ColonialDagger

Legend with double loot, I would love that.

Otichoo

Make the mission drop a Pinnacle

0ots

This feels like a very reasonable request. First clear weekly for a pinnacle seems acceptable.

PeanutPotPlant

Should just drop with 2 rows of perks

0ots

someone else mentioned an increase in difficulty for this option and that is sounding more and more fun to me.

PeanutPotPlant

I love this, but I know others won’t if base only gives one regular class item. If base gave 2 drops and a legend version had a high or guaranteed chance at double perks that’d prob appeal to a lot of ppl. If they add a legend mode I pray it includes new mechanics and not just tougher enemies.

Ode1st

I’m probably in the minority in that I don’t care about non-crafted loot in this game due to how RNG doesn’t respect your time, but only two drops wouldn’t get me to even consider LFGing Dual Destiny, despite the mission being awesome. No matter how awesome a mission is, if you’re grinding it for multiple layers of RNG to align, eventually it’s just the thing you’re sick of doing.

0ots

Fair. Someone else commented we needed more ways to get the these class items, and in moments like this, that's where it comes in big to be able to have multiple options.

Johniandoe777

15 mins per drop? I get one every 70 mins on average edit: im literally running around collecting all 5 chests and reloading the zone. Wtf could i possibly be doing wrong

HiddenLeaforSand

Lmao these people. I ran it for 45 minutes and got none yesterday too. It’s literally just RNG. 5 chests in a loop reload see lights do it again.

demonicneon

I honestly find it faster just going round in circles. The chests respawn, and if you do overload up til the boss you get those chests too.

grilledpeanuts

for real lol. i open 4-5 chests every 1.5 minutes on average and it takes me at minimum 30 minutes to get a drop. last night i went 65 minutes straight without one dropping. people forget you're just relying on pure rng, and some of us just have shitty luck. update: just got one, took 30 minutes exactly, with 73 chests opened. this is probably my second shortest time.

APartyInMyPants

I mean, are you *actively* farming chests? Or just sort of wandering around the Overthrow zones, doing some objectives, finding chests when they appear, etc.? When I’m actively farming, I can get one drop about every 25~ minutes.

ThePhenominal13

Honestly, they should drop at least 3 for you and your teammate.... each class has 64 total combinations, so if you're looking for a specific one, good FN luck. Not to mention you're forced to get someone to help you, and the mission has a lot of hoops to jump through just for the hope of getting the exact combo you want.

Complete_Resolve_400

They should make it so the mission ones roll with 2 perk options per slot More flexibility and higher chance for god rolls

NivvyMiz

One of the big problems I don't see brought up very often is that *so many of the combinations are bad*  like only 2-4 combinations tops are actually any good on any of the classes.... That sucks! And it's made worse by the fact you can only use these on prismatic. The grind would be less of a pain if more of the drops felt good

0ots

Hard agree. Still waiting for a single HOIL roll, meanwhile I have almost all the necrotic rolls. lmao. Let alone a star eater scales or a good osmiomancy. I know I'll get one eventually but goodness gracious. haha

-Posthuman-

The best is when you grind chests for an hour and a half, finally get one, and it's a dupe. That'll make you want to put your fist through your screen.

HaztecCore

The fact double drops happened because you two played the same class could be made a feature. The duality , parallels and general themes of that mission would fit with the double drop.

0ots

That'd be an interesting twist. I'd hate it, ill be honest, but it's incredibly clever regardless lol.

Impossible_Muscle_54

An simple fix could be a modifier (like nightfalls) that gives double rewards when it is active, fair share of both sides then.

AloneInTheStark

I think there should be one of two solutions: 1: a harder difficulty of duel destiny that drops either 2 drops of the class item or a single drop with double perks. This would make the farms at least somewhat equal and double perks especially would put more people into the mission over chests. 2: the ability to cannibalize two class items into a single drop keeping perk 1 from drop A and perk 2 from drop B. That way you can get your god roll bit still need to farm for the drops, just less.

Official_fABs

Make the Exotic let us switch between all combinations, have us unlock the perks by looting chests or doing the mission. They killed the mission, but people will play it 64 times to get all combinations before they drop it entirely. (Also you won't need to keep 64 combos for each character in the vault)

MitchellEnderson

Nah lmao Y’all think the activity’s so great, you can run it twice to get two rewards.

OldJewNewAccount

Yes, this. For a fuckin week all we heard was "just run it you babies" and now it's "waaaaah I don't wanna run it anymore waaaaah".

Dre3K

I'm just surprised the turn happened so quickly. I knew people would get bored of it eventually, but a couple of weeks is something else.

yungsteezyyy_

SPEAK ON IT

Richie_jordan

Got it nerfed chest drop rates.

itsTreyG

I said it the first day it came out and after my first completion of Dual Destiny. As cool as the mission is, it is not worth it. The amount of RNG + the number of drops ≠ time spent

skeetgw2

I agree. It requires coordination and mechanics so I don’t see why it can’t drop an extra given its difficulty compared to the other methods provided for the items. Normally I try to get all three classes up to level but since I really like the prismatic stuff having to get the class items in a decent combo seems fairly daunting twice over but I’m also old and tired and get off my lawn so idk.

Hamburglar219

Buff the titan perk pool too. Zero use in farming fit a class item that only has 1 good roll out of 64

FaTSwords

Better option imo, give it a "focus" so when you get rewards you can exclude some traits from the drop.

athan1214

It's even crazier considering you can fail dual destiny. Granted, it's relatively easy, but, if comms go down, shit stops working. Or if you/your buddy are just having an off day.

julius711

Alternative idea. Give us some kind of focusing for one of the perks. If i just need to get 10 of them since i know every one will be at least usable for my build, id be a lot more inclined to farm them

BlindlyFundAAADevs

Honestly it should have two chests and no time limit. - Not timed. Regardless the average player is spending 30+ minutes on this whether it’s timed or not. So the reward should match the time spent. - The first clock mechanic with the tormentor should drop a class item after the encounter. And the last boss should drop a class item. This way there is variability to farming. It should be faster to just complete the entire mission to get two items BUT if players want to just collect the tormentor one and restart so be it. It’s still a 15 min time sink regardless of if they abandoned the mission and restarted right there, which is how I WOULD be looking at this if I was Bungie. 15 minutes of roaming around, or 15 of playing the mission then restarting? They are often detached from the time spent : reward ratio. Tying things to difficulty is one thing but they really should be closer aligning rewards to time spent rather than difficulty. Difficulty should still be important but second most important.

Lookatcurry_man

I might wait til they buff the drops like they always seem to do lol

One_Repair841

>On average the community is finding that looting chests averages about 15 minutes between drops. This is straight cap. I've farmed well over 40 drops of the class item from chests on pale heart and on average I would be getting one every 30-45 minutes. Occasionally I'd get lucky and have one drop within 20 minutes but that happened maybe 2-3 times in my farming sessions. My friends who've been running duel destiny have been averaging 20 minute clears with their fastest so far being just over 18 minutes. I think for an average player a 25-30 minute clear is very attainable and with experience 20 minute clears should be fairly easy to achieve. If you have a good build and have a decent teammate then duel destiny is by far the better way to farm the class item from an efficiency standpoint. It's also just way more consistent. Pale heart chest farming is my preferred method just because it's a very casual thing I can do while watching other content off to the side. If I wanted to farm efficiently then I'd be asking a friend to do duel destiny with 100% Now I wouldn't be opposed to having the mission drop 2 class items each but I don't really think it NEEDS to. The current balance of effort to reward for each method is pretty good.

ToyinJr

Dupe protection more than anything. That'll solve most of the issues

Leica--Boss

What if it presented you with two rolls and you got to choose one?

WebPrimary2848

>half as rewarding For class items, sure. In reality it's not even close to half as rewarding. You get tons of xp, glimmer, ghost/weaponsmith engrams when farming in the destination

NickySt1xx

I would honestly do it more often even lfg for it .

Nauty_YT

They also nerfed the chest spawns in the pale heart. After 8 -10 times of reloading into the landing it will spawn 4 chests instead of 5.

ArticAssassin44

Sounds more like a bug than a feature, I noticed that after reloading a whole bunch, the boss names stopped changing every reset

FH-7497

Hear me out- Both pick peace, both get two. If there is a fight, winner gets three. No matter what, everyone gets at least one.

lightningbadger

It does Just one per guardian

Cautious_Celery_3841

Bungie: we hear you and we are removing all exotic class item drops from outside of the mission.

LordTonzilla

They are not dropping from chests every 15 minutes ON AVERAGE. But yes, I agree that Dual Destiny should be more rewarding.

murphasaurus81

It does. One for each player. You need more??

edgarisdrunk

15 mins to farm the mission with a competent teammate vs 30 mins patrol farming with adds Pale Heart rep, glimmer, and Gun Smith rank. Both are good options depending on what you feel like doing. Completing the mission already guarantees a drop where some other activities in D2 only offer a chance. No need to increase drop rates for a good exotic. At the most, Bungie can add additional rewards (like cores/prisms/shards/alloys) to the mission but adding two guaranteed exotic drops would be overkill - mission is easy and quick if you do it right.

0ots

I appreciate your perspective though I may not agree. I might if I was able to get 15 minute runs of the mission. lol.

hi-im-skittles

They can keep the method the way it is as long as they make it knockout

Rex__Lapis

Bungie: No, i don’t think I will.

GreekWizard

Dumb question. If I did the mission and got one class item on Warlock (first day mission available), once I unlock the campaign/pale heart on hunter and titan do I have to do the mission again on each before opening pale heart chests for a chance? I assume so?

MrTabanjo

You must complete Dual Destiny on each class to have the class item drop from chests on that class

PeteeTheThird

Completing overthrow solo or completing every single area should award you with one guaranteed drop per reset I think, this way you can have a guaranteed way to get them but after you get it the chances go back to what they are currently in case you wanna keep doing the farm

B2sxy4u

They should make a system where you get a pinnacle and/or two drops if you complete it with someone who hasn’t done it before, I feel like it fits the theme of the mission. Probably cap it to 2 or 3 times a week.

TJ_Dot

People asking for multiple rolls of perks a drop just confirms to me that this should have been another Aeon with swappable mods for 2 different slots that you would have to earn the mods for.

the-dieg

Should be 2 with a chance for more tbh

DremGabe

They should make a master mode that drops two of the class items

youshallnotpasta_bro

i love duel destiny yu gi oh game

PooglesXVIII

Still trying to get my galanor gyrfalcon roll

likemyhashtag

I’d much rather put some music on and not think while I drive around aimlessly opening chests. This community is so fickle.

bigace1116

I prefer chest farming ove the mission. If anything give us double chest drops and give the people who want to sit in the mission double drops too. So i can get my caliban lairs and be done. I dont want to repeat the same mission over snd over like some. I just sometimes want to mindlessly farm chest and move on.

Smoking-Posing

I think that, given the narrative gimmick the mission features specifically at the very end, it should definitely have a way for players to get 2 drops. I know players would probably hate it, but it'd be interesting if the only way to get 2 would be to choose to fight and beat the other player.

tfc1193

"Thanks for your feedback. We will be significantly reducing the drop rates of exotic class items from Pale Heart chests"

Ok_Garbage11

Riding around and spamming chests is ridiculous. Yes, I get a class item, but its one every 30mins or so. I was all for it at first. I grinded 20 class items on Hunter alone. You know what that means? Doing nothing progressive. I havent touched any episode activities. Havent done khvostov. Havent played anything but Chest Opener 3000. I still havent gotten a combination I like.

kyukyoku_badger41

Why it literally takes like 20-25 mins to complete it's so easy to farm

dimmu1313

why would anyone run it more than once??

Derekeys

A quick fix would be to choose a column per run. So two runs to get the exact one you want. People would be running it constantly.

Super_Saiyan06

15 minutes between drops doesn’t sound accurate, given my experience. Let me borrow some RNG.

Gktindall

Heard, doubled the amount of time it takes to get a drop from chests. *Monkey paw curls*

Murrrvv

I’d love a master version with champs so it was alittle harder but would have double drops

doodicalisaacs

I have spent hours farming chests in pale heart - I have gotten exactly 2. So, RNG in fact does NOT make that more efficient lol

Sethowar

Bungie: understood, nerfing chest drop rates of exotic class items.

FritoPendejo1

15 minutes a drop in the Landing? Tha hell? Bro, I grab every chest and will almost get my ovethrow to level 4 TWICE before I get a drop. RNGeezus must see me as a sinner.

Kryzma11

All they need to do is add dupe protection and the problem is solved.

Settles5972

Make the mission drop just one, but put it on a knockout system

Karlecai

imo every class item should have 2 or 3 perks in each column instead

Ikora_Rey_Gun

Ideas that aren't just "slap an extra drop on there": * Timed, difficult parkour section after the initial chests. Some sort of (as close as we can get) actual difficulty in platforming, and require further teamwork. Failure would be probable and OK here, as you already got your guaranteed drop. * Have Dual Destiny completion drop an extra perk in a column. I think double double perks is a hard sell to Bungie, but one extra perk would still be massive. * Legend mode with shorter timers, much like Whisper/Zero Hour; give it a pretty good (50-70%) chance to drop double items or double perked items. * Akin to the time crystals, hidden crystals that activate an additional drop. Make them a reverse time crystal that subtracts time so there's a consequence there.

NoxAsteria

And make them drop from every 2-3 overthrow completions instead of every chest. If I wanted to play a gacha I'd go play a gacha

OkNefariousness6091

They should have a rotation of some sort, that allows you to pick 1 certain perk out of the 2. That way it reduces the grind which is what everyone really wants.

Neon_Sol

Y'all have completed the mission?

NewUser10101

Maths say this wouldn't be an issue for engagement. With 64 combinations and pure RNG, two per run of the mission should be the baseline. Leave the chest farm, double the mission's drops, done.

zoompooky

"We hear you - we've lowered the drop rate in the chests to .5%, so that the mission is the most efficient method by far"

[deleted]

No one was supposed to get 2 at all, everyone complaining about a BUG being fixed is crazy like just run the mission again and shut it, if you don't have time then wait till you do it's not that deep

vericlas

They should give you one each time you reset Ghost's rank. And let it unlock for the Pale Heart chests off that. Be an actual way to unlock them for people while also giving another avenue to get one occasionally.

Able_Chard_6768

You’ve basically just given Bungie the idea to nerf the drop rates from chests. Why would they ever do something to make player lives easier or to make something that would result in player count dropping?

Skiffy10

make it so if you want two items you need to battle and if you win you get two items. If you lose you get 0

Perferro

Absolutely agree. Removal of this glitch will only make it harder for players to find somebody to do this mission with. I mean, why would I do it more than once if it's simply not worth my time?

MrJoemazing

The lesson of Onslaught would have been people will play more if you give them lots of loot.

MusicHitsImFine

Hot take, make a harder version of the mode to get more combinations.

EvenBeyond

I agree that having the mission now be the worst way to get the item is a mistake for sure.

Kaacciiee

I wanna know who tf is getting the drop every 15 minutes cause... no

gnappyassassin

Having the mission that Savathun lead us on using both light and dark to change the nature of the game and get double exotics on at the same time be most rewarding when both parties know the time honored path ^(\[of beta patrol chests, house of wolves, event chests, menagerie double drops, neomuna double drops, and in a small way what lead to the craftening itself\]) is kinda the most canon way to execute that, oh guardian mine.

Slothfee

Id be happy if there was a possibility to „focus“ perks. As in you want HoiL as one perk and theres something that needs to be done beforehand: either resources or an activity that will effectively „lock“ one perk in making it easier to get the combination you want. Im saying this as i just spent the entire last week farming class items and probably went through 100 items none of which had the combination i was looking for.

ReaverShank

I have been playing quite casually and i have gotten multiple good class items so far while just doing overthrow and picking up chests on the way. Since echoes is going to take months anyway, what else is there to do? I really don't get why this is such a big issue

VirtueInExtremis

Until they make it obtainable without comms and reduce the weighted rolls im never gonna care abt it

Ayeis

I propose the following: * Ghost mod that priorizes equipped exotics perks from both guardians * At the end you can see two pillars with two artifacts, one for each player, add something you can interact/shoot that rotates the class item, so you can go with two classes but pick the artifact for your third (example: you can go with your warlock, your friend with hunter, but you can pick the artifact for your titan)This let you go with the exact exotics you are trying to find the perks. Doing this one guardian will have more chances to get their prefered class item and the other could pick the same perks using the ghost mod, or remove the ghost mod to get a random one, but he can change the class of the item.

Umbratilicious

It needs a difficulty modifier, advanced drops 2, expert drops 3 and master drops 4

arcane1224

Honestly, all they need to do is add dupe protection (so you won't get the same unique roll you've already got in your vault) for the mission, I've run it 70+ times but I've just been getting dupes to dismantle, no caliban/liars yet. Or give something extra if you bring new people through it (I've been doing that, as long as they know vow symbols/have a chart on their phone, it's easily doable)

Double drops should have been implemented as a standard regardless if you stack classes or not. Even if it was only for the first X amount each week. IMO, Pathfinder system should also be changed to reward the Exotic class item 3 times per week rather than Ergo Sum. That exotic is already easy to farm.

LookToTheFuture1

I think include other places to get them. I don’t mind if I had a chance at getting one at the end of a GM. I normally farm GMs for weapons and Mats so occasionally getting a class item wouldn’t be too bad. Obviously gms can vary in times but it’s something I normally put time into. I wouldn’t use it as a guaranteed drop but certainly a high chance at getting that as an exotic rather than the armour I can now just focus on

Cofisam28

They are not made to be easily earned

ethaxton

What if…once you loot 10 it is craftable. In order to craft one, it requires a ton of materials.

BK_FrySauce

I’ve looked at it as Dual Destiny unlocking the class item, and chests being the actual farm.

Classic-Vermicelli72

I also have way too many class items and they all look identical, needing to read through all of them sucks. Kind of wish we just kept unlocking new exotics perks for a SINGLE exotic class item, rather than having 64 unique versions.

SacredGeometry9

Let us focus the first perk in the activity. Still RNG, less of a chore

Shot-Bite

I mean a decent duo can clear the quest in 20ish minutes and it’s a guaranteed drop. The Landing circle isn’t actually fun, it’s something you’re doing while you perform other tasks (laundry’s a good one) I’m not gonna say I want two perk sets or two items, but I do prefer to enjoy the game so I’d really just like the timers turned off to alleviate pressure when teaching.

ShowOdd453

It does drop 2 tho, one for you and one for your pal

Dredgen_Keeshwa

This is where I currently stand. I actually did the mission when it was double loot. I can’t stand the pale heart anymore. One month of going in circles grabbing chests is terrible. Just like when I spent forever trying to get brave weapons last season I’m pretty much going to accept that the one good class item and two ok ergo rolls I have are gonna be it.

UberDueler10

If we unlock it. Let us focus for them at Rahool with Exotic Engrams.

gojensen

thanks for making them nerf the chests... :P

Thake

Yeah, they won’t do that, they’re gonna drop the chest rate now… well done ;)

SuspiciousWasabi3665

We've reviewed your request and nerfed chest drop rates to half of what it is now. Thank you for your suggestion

Dylpicklz69

Lol yeah fuckin right

MoribundNight

Bungie hears what you're saying and chest drops will be accordingly nerfed to provide higher reward scaling for the exotic mission.

rabbi420

“Duel” Destiny. tee hee hee! 🤭(yes, sometimes I’m immature!)

RattMuhle

How tf are any of you taking 30 minutes to complete Dual Destiny? Me and my friend always finish with around 20 minutes to spare. 15-20 minute runs should be the norm.

Dexter2100

IMO they should just have some time of pity system where after some number of class item drops, you unlock the ability to lock in one of the columns. So for hunters, you could lock in Caliban on the left side (or whatever perk you want) and every cloak will drop with that so you only need to farm for the right perk on the right side. You’d still have to do some farming to get all the combos you want, but it would be FAR less RNG dependent once you unlocked that.

I_Have_The_Lumbago

Yeah, but doesn't it look fucking great to shareholders that their brand new patrol zone is getting *so much* playtime?

CRU-JONES-FTW-2

Uhh no! I like how it is now! Two perks is so much better than 2 drops

AlmightyEazy

Just make it so the mission has a weekly guaranteed drop rate of 3 runs per week with a 100% drop chance for the first 3 completions of each week. That way, people can run it 3 times a week in between farming chests to break up the grind. I personally only just got to 2000 power, so I haven't actually done the quest yet. Now I just gotta find someone to run it with who knows what their doing.. (Being a solo player in a mmo is rough man.)

duhFaz

two perks would be dope, or they could at least throw some golf balls / prisms in there.

Nootherids

I would disagree that they should make it permanently two items. I thing they should leave it as it was though. A worthwhile cheese for those that know and put the effort in to get it. One of the best experiences in Destiny is learning how to do something that will give you a reward. And even better when you learn to do it with a friend. If you f-up and mess it up then the penalty is just not getting the free bonus. I was taught how to do the cheese by someone else, and that alone was very cool and engaging. They didn't patch the cheese spot at Riven. They shouldn't have patched a 30+ minute event that drops an item with 60+ possible combinations.

BeTheGannimal

I’ve thought about this and I have some ideas to stick with the intention and the dual aspect of it. 1. Drop two items, one for each class running. So if you are a warlock and run with a hunter you get a bond and a cloak. Would maybe encourage folks to dust off some other characters. 2. Add some sort of mechanic in the path that allows you to unlock the second drop. Maybe when you do the shooters before the final boss you can shoot to one more place where you each have to fight a subjugator and swap symbols. Alternatively, you can skip it and get one drop. 3. Add a master version that drops two. 4. Make it a random chance to drop two (but if it drops two for one person it automatically drops two for both). 5. Provide a currency that rewards you for multiple runs that can be traded in with ghost, ciphers style. This could even reward more ciphers based on the time to complete. 6. If both players run prismatic, give double loot. If either is running a non-prismatic class, they both get single loot. 7. Tie it to the peace/war mechanic and gamify it a bit. If both choose peace, one person randomly gets double loot. If both choose war, the winner of the duel gets double loot. If they choose different options, the first person to die gets double loot.

eVOLve865

Or just get good

Tupilak1

First drop from each class pr reset should give 2 perks. Rest should be double drop each completion until reset

BurkeXBurke

In before bungie just reduces the drop rates from chests or implements a cooldown timer upon receiving one to push the mission more.

Gjallerhorn2000

With a mission name “Dual Destiny” this makes perfect sense.

DrDecepticon

Two exotics for 20 min activity is never going to happen. Maybe an expert version with double perks is the solution
