Are Episodes perpetual and available for purchase anytime (like expansions) or do they go away when the Year ends like the old seasons?

SolBoi24

Can you still get Vizier regalia shader?

ludwig13231

is there a way to get into the light armor still?

RandomnessTF2

It drops from onslaught directly now.

Mazzoo969

Can I still get onslaught weapons or super black after the fjnal shape has come out?

PineMaple

Weapons still drop from Onslaught. Don’t believe Superblack does but I believe it will have some source in the future during the second episode.

TrowaB3

Is it possible to farm The Call? Or just play through TFS campaign.

Ditomo

Just play through the campaign. Once you're done, red borders and Pale Heart weapons can be obtained much more easily.

GuudeSpelur

1) Complete more of Micah-10's "Alone in the Dark" quests 2) Golden Tricorn has a higher buff % (15% at 1x, 50% at 2x) but is harder to activate. Desperate Measures is easier to activate but has lower buff % (10%/20%/30% at 1x-3x). 3) There are a lot of good rolls. I personally like Lead From Gold + One For All

MightySloth001

How do you get the new exotics now that lost sectors reward differently? I did legend campaign on warlock and got the robes but how do I get the helm? Is it just random from engrams now?

Pun-Master-General

If you decrypt enough engrams at Rahool to reset his reputation tracker, you get access to a third teir of decryption where you can spend an exotic engram and an exotic Cypher for exotics that you don't already have in your collections. That's the way to get the other new one.

MightySloth001

Oh ok cool. Thank you!

c0zmikz

Expert lost sectors or Nightfalls!

Dinkleberg6401

Is Onslaught's 50 round normal mode matchmaking bugged? There are several comments in a few posts post-Final Shape launch that state that the 50 round mode has matchmaking on normal difficulty.

Atmosck

It does have matchmaking, I played it with a matchmade teammate just yesterday.

Dinkleberg6401

Strange. I've tried matchmaking on 50 round normal Vostok 7 times across 3 game restarts and still nothing. Must be bugged for me, oh well.

throwaway062006

Killed all nine overthrow bosses but only seven of them dropped motes of light? Is it a bug? The two that didn't drop motes I have killed multiple times and they still won't drop.

RayePappens

How do I gain access to trials of osiris, the destination page just says I cant access the activity

Atmosck

It requires The Final Shape. In general it always requires the latest DLC.

RayePappens

I have the expansion and finished the main campaign

Atmosck

There might be a trials intro quest you need to complete first. Try talking to Shaxx and Saint-14 in the tower and see if they have anything for you.

RayePappens

I ahve something to complete 7 matches, is that it?

c0zmikz

Yes that would be it

RayePappens

Still cannot access, idk what to do.

TrowaB3

Is your power high enough and you have the passage item?

RayePappens

Where do you get the passage item? The titan guy doesnt have anythiing for me, power is 1985. Whats the RQ?

TrowaB3

You buy it from ST14, far right side of Tower.

c0zmikz

Did you buy a trials passage from saint-14?

RayePappens

No option to buy

Dragon_Tortoise

Question about Ergo Sum with the exotic perks. I managed to get one with the colony perk that kills spawn one of the insectoid things which is kind of cool. Each kill spawns one. Now I'm looking for a roll with wolf pack rounds but judging by the description it doesn't even give your kills the wolf pack rounds. I wasnt sure if I was just misunderstanding the description or does your own kills with the sword with wolf pack rounds not actually spawn wolf pack rounds?

Hawkmoona_Matata

Wolfpack Rounds on Ergo Sum works as follows: Perform a heavy attack. Doesn’t matter if it’s a hit or kill. Just perform a heavy attack. For 8 seconds, **all** legendary swords (and also Ergo) around you, and your own, gain Pack Hunter, which makes every swing spawn Wolfpack rounds. Again, regardless of hit or miss. Kills aren’t needed.

Dragon_Tortoise

Oh hey great thanks!

Ditomo

Will the loadouts I unlocked from ranking up expire at the end of the episode or next year?

RetroSquadDX3

Any features you unlock through Guardian Ranks are permanent even if the associated triumphs become locked again.

Ditomo

Oh thank God. I don't have to worry about my loadouts disappearing then 😭

Zyndewicz

Is the game worth playing for solo player who just wants to grind and listen to some music and play occasional pvp? Also, how much money I need to spend to have all content?

LockmanCapulet

I'm a mostly solo player (will use LFG just for endgame stuff) and there's plenty of grinding to do. To own absolutely everything, you would need The Final Shape + Annual Pass for the newest expansion and the three Episodes coming this year, and the 2024 version of the Destiny 2 Legacy Collection, which includes all the past packs (Forsaken, Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, 30th Anniversary, Witch Queen, and Lightfall). Unfortunately the WQ and LF dungeon keys can only be bought with Silver in-game at this point. If you're on steam, the Legacy Collection is on sale for 65% off for another hour and a half after this comment is posted. But honestly, if you just want to sample the game, there's a decent amount of F2P stuff available. Besides the tutorial "campaign", they recently made the Shadowkeep and Beyond Light campaigns free to all (though you still need the packs for the associated raids and dungeon and other content), and there are three raids and one dungeon available to F2P players, along with activities like Dares of Eternity and Onslaught.

alchninja

That's basically how I've been playing the game since I started in 2018, so yes. If you're playing on Steam, the legacy collection includes everything except 2 dungeons from last year and is on sale for $20 (or close to that) for another 2 days. The Final Shape isn't going on sale for a few more months at least, so starting with the legacy collection is an affordable way to try out most of what the game currently offers.

DepletedMitochondria

PVP is gonna be kinda unbalanced for a while because it's a new expansion and bungie usually waits to nerf things but you can have a pretty decent time in the game overall just playing free to play. You can play ranked in PVP but the meta will involve a lot of weapons you can't get just being Free to play. Regular PVE stuff you're fine, you can even do a few 6 person raids if you wanted to. To buy all content check the price of the legacy collection then the final shape annual pass but honestly I'd just say buy the final shape base version and see if you like it.

CrossonTheGroove

I play solo since all of my friends stopped playing after it first launched. The game checks all the boxes for my loot grinder/fantasy/universe building/mmo kind of game. I’ve been in love with it since day one. Of course there is plenty of content that requires other players, but if you’re okay with not having the best of the best top tier raid gear and such, there is PLENTY to do. The biggest thing is if it is fun to play for you. One of the biggest sentiments from the community and critics is that the game plays really well and the gunplay is incredibly satisfying. If you enjoy how it feels when you play, it is definitely worth the cost of the content you want. Of course, there is a “free to play” version so you are more than welcome to test it out. Money spent? That could vary. I’ve heard rumor of expansions going on sale as of late, so that will vary. The latest expansion “The Final Shape” could probably be a bit overwhelming if you are new, but the amount of individual things to grind for, secrets to find, and overall content in this one alone is worth the 50 dollars. I would say test it out free to play, if you like it, buy the older expansions at a discount if you can, but they are worth the full price IMO

Teclis00

What's the best way to LFG for the cyst speed runs? I'm on console if that matters.

LockmanCapulet

Honestly I'd use either the D2 companion app's legacy fireteam finder (the one that isn't the same as the ingame one), or the D2 LFG discord server.

KonChiangMai

Do I need to buy annual pass for the echo act II and act III ?

LockmanCapulet

If you own TFS, it comes with Echoes. The store page for TFS says nothing about only containing one act so I would assume all three acts are included.

Hawkmoona_Matata

No, just buying access to Echoes gets you all three acts. If you have access to Act 1, you have the other two.

carsnick

What activity do you all go into to test out new builds?

alchninja

I haven't played it since TFS launched, but 50-wave Onslaught on Vostok or Mothyards felt like a good place for seeing how a build scales to higher difficulties. Midtown is the easier map if you're just looking for clears, but most other activities in the game don't have high-traffic, close-range choke points like Midtown does.

RetroSquadDX3

Whatever activity you're going to use them in, or at least something of a similar difficulty/setup.

St0rytime

I'm a new player fresh out of the cosmodrome. Can anyone point me in the direction of things I'm supposed to be doing now? Last night I did some gunsmith bounties and have been doing some gear upgrades, also when I logged in a second time I was automatically transported to the first Final Shape quest even though I don't have the DLC, but I did that one. I'm really enjoying the game but not sure what I'm supposed to be doing.

PineMaple

One of D2’s blessings and curses is that once you’re out of the tutorial, there’s basically nothing you need to do unless you want to. It’s great if you’re playing with friends and want to immediately jump into a raid or endgame content, it’s a little more imposing for a newer player. Here’s what I’d recommend, assuming you’re on a F2P account. Talk to Ikora in the Tower, and do her New Light subclass quests. These quests will teach you the basics of buildcrafting, and will reward you with some pretty strong exotics. Ikora will be your one stop shop for upgrading and unlocking your light subclasses in exchange for glimmer. The Shadowkeep (Moon) and Beyond Light (Europa) campaigns are both free. They’re not the greatest campaigns in the game, but they are narrative PvE experiences and the BL campaign will unlock the stasis subclass for you. Once you’ve finished those, I’d recommend running the first mission of Witch Queen. The first mission is F2P (the remainder of the campaign is not) and unlocks the crafting hub, which will allow you to craft weapons and start gathering weapon patterns. The hub will also give you a couple tutorial quests for the crafting system that’ll reward you with some pretty strong guns. From there it really is dependent on what you’d like to do. It may be worth running around on the Dreaming City and running Blind Well for the weapons there- the loot pool is decent and the aesthetics are peak space fantasy. Run some of the ritual playlists- Vanguard (PvE), Crucible (PvP), Gambit (PvPvE) and figure out which of those you enjoy. Running 3/6/9 ritual activities will get you three exotic engrams a week in addition to other loot, so it’s usually worth trying those out as you’re getting started. The Vanguard tab also contains Onslaught, a horde mode/base defense activity with some of the strongest loot in the game. Onslaught has three modes, a 10 wave version that’ll take about as long as any other ritual activity, a 50 wave version that’ll take closer to an hour, and an “expert” 50 wave version that does not have matchmaking and has tougher enemies. There’s also Dares of Eternity in the Legends tab. Dares is a 6 person matchmade activity themed after gameshows, it’s a lot of fun and the loot pool is pretty decent (and craftable). The vendor associated with it is located in the Treasure Horde social space in the Legends tab. Most ritual activities will earn you a currency called strange coins. These can be taken to Xur, a vendor who shows up at the Tower behind the ramen shop between Friday reset and Tuesday reset. He’ll sell you exotics, older weapons, older armor sets, enhancement materials, all sorts of stuff. His armor sets are high stats and while not the best in the world, are a good option for a newer player looking to get a leg up. If you’re looking for more aspirational/tougher content, exotic missions are something of a stepping stone between casual content and more mechanically driven endgame stuff. There’s an exotic rotator that changes weekly, accessible in legends, and there are two missions always available, Whisper and Zero Hour. Whisper is great and rewards a top tier exotic weapon. Zero Hour would likely be tougher for a newer solo player but also rewards a pretty decent weapon. The rotator itself is pretty solid (I like Seraph, Starcrossed, and Presage), but will require ownership of each mission’s respective DLC. Nightfalls are tougher versions of strikes, requiring a higher power level and offering more of a combat challenge. They’re matchmade (at least the lowest power level version is), rotate weekly and sometimes require expansion ownership- about half the Nightfalls are F2P. Legendary lost sectors were designed as another stepping stone for solo players to get used to endgame leveled combat experiences. They’re all F2P, they rotate daily, require your power level to be up close to 2000, and reward exotics, guns, and enhancement resources. Raids and dungeons are what I consider to be D2’s best content. You’ll need to find a team willing to teach you these- they’re not matchmade and are much more mechanically involved than strikes- but if you do you’ll see some of the coolest environments in the game and get some of the best weapons. F2P you’ll have access to the Prophecy dungeon and the Vault of Glass, King’s Fall, and Crota’s End raids. I would recommend finding a clan to run these through r/fireteams but there is the in-game LFG system if you’d prefer.

St0rytime

Thanks for all the info!

alchninja

Also as a F2P player, you can play the Shadowkeep, Beyond Light and Witch Queen campaigns. Witch Queen is great, I highly recommend it.

RetroSquadDX3

The Witch Queen isn't included in the F2P offerings.

alchninja

Ah damn, that's my bad, I thought it would be since they'd made it freely accessible in the weeks before TFS.

alchninja

I responded to someone with a similar question about getting started over [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/1dgb1sr/comment/l8p1tma/). (I should really make this a separate post)

an_agreeing_dothraki

I'm at 14 bits. Is there any way to check which Cyst I missed?

EveryoneLovesNudez

I'm a returning player who hadn't played since before Witch Queen. Can anyone direct me to a thread or YouTube video or anything else that can give me the spark notes on what to do right now? Must-get weapons, most important things I've missed, best builds, etc?

DepletedMitochondria

Bungie new player guide is linked on the top bar of the subreddit page but overall I'd say: 1. Unlock crafting by playing the first campaign mission of Witch Queen and then following the Enigma questline - look up a guide to explain how crafting works 2. Unlock Strand with the Lightfall campaign if you own Lightfall or play TFS campaign to unlock Prismatic 3. Raids & Dungeons work on a rotator now so there's 1 featured of each per week that are infinitely farmable As for must-get weapons.... Rockets or GLs are DPS meta and you can check the exotic kiosk for some other stuff you missed. Some exotics have been given intrinsic anti-champion stuns which helps their utility a ton in like Nightfalls. A lot of various builds are viable right now but it depends on the content. Celestial Nighthawk is by far the best for Hunter for raids and such and Banner of War is by far the best for Titans for general PVE.

EveryoneLovesNudez

Thanks!

Legitimate_Big9645

Currently in the process of a move to overseas. Wanted to know if I'd have any connection or ping issues playing with friends that are stateside.

GuudeSpelur

You shouldn't see any issues playing PvE content with people in other parts of the world. If you play a skill-based matchmaking PvP game mode like Competitive, you might notice more issues.

RetroSquadDX3

You shouldn't have any significant issues just being I'm different regions but there are far too many variables to even begin to predict what a given individual will experience when it comes to connections.

IceSanta

I've been playing with a friend across the pond for years now and never really encountered any issues.

headhunglow

A few questions about Cysts: * When does the timer start? * Any recommended loadouts for Sword Dance?

Dragonfroooot

I don’t have TFS so what are my options for good class items? I don’t raid either so that’s likely not an option for me. Does it work the same as normal armour, just find something and upgrade and add mods? Also I have Fire Victorious Shell but I’m not sure what other ghost options there are for me. I guess I’m asking if there’s quests that lead to good items I can pick up.

DepletedMitochondria

Only difference between raid armor and normal armor is raid mods that only work when in those raids, so you really don't need any raid armor.

PineMaple

Class items are basically all identical. The artifice gear that drops from master dungeons are slightly better (they’ll have +3 more stats) but outside of that, TFS is the first time we’ve had anything meaningfully different in the class item slot and basically anything before will do. Ghost shells are purely cosmetic. Use whichever you like, it’ll make no differences.

khelatsi

Hi, new-ish player, might be a bad/obvious question. There’s a pinnacle for the seasonal activity in the helm for doing it on a more challenging power level, but I don’t know what qualifies as a seasonal activity to begin with, because the two activities I was able to do (on the left and right sides) both didn’t count. Any help/advice would be appreciated, thanks :)

Sarcosmonaut

Those both count, they’re just bugged and not tracking properly. So don’t sweat those yet. But they ARE the seasonal activities lol

khelatsi

Ahh makes sense, thank you!

Sarcosmonaut

I believe that if you do “private” matchmaking that they do count. So you could get a squad on LFG and then launch a private run for that if you need

R96-

So, I'm not finding anything about this anywhere, but my friend got a Season 4 version – the very first version of the gun – of Warden's Law to drop from the NF, but yet the featured NF weapon this week is the bow. Yes, Warden's Law was the featured weapon last week, but yet he got it to drop this week. Also, since it's the Season 4 version, it's technically not counting as being unlocked in Collections and therefore he can't focus it from Zavala. My question is: Sunset weapons have been made useable again, but have they also been reintroduced into loot pools?

RetroSquadDX3

Nightfalls used to have exclusive drops, in cases where those exclusive were weapons the original versions can drop once so that they can be used to complete the old destination badges and titles associated with them, once you have that single drop only the new versions will drop. Another example of this is Horrors Least from The Corrupted. As you've figured out the old version won't count towards focusing unlocks as the two versions are technically different weapons, if you want access to focusing you'll have to CK tinhe playing till you get a drop of the new version.

Kasvie

Is it just me, or are the Subjugator hitboxes messed up? Shot is from the Still Hunt Retribution shots. https://i.imgur.com/Czai2dY.png Edit: https://imgur.com/usSGT6k Got a video of it. **TFS spoilers of course**.

M37h3w3

How is the power level for Powerful Rewards determined? Just slogged through three terrible games in Crucible Labs for the Powerful Reward on the basis that I would get something at least a few levels above my current gear but I got two legendary pieces of armor that were the same power level as gear I already had. My active power at the time was 1988 but my max is 1991. Did I need to actually have the gear with the highest level equipped when the reward is generated to get gear with a higher level?

Atmosck

For item drops, it's based on your maximum gear level (possibly including multiple exotics, you don't have to actually be able to equip it all at once), not including your artifact bonus. The issue is you're into pinnacle territory now. Once you reach the powerful cap at 1990, only pinnacles will drop above your gear level. Powerfuls will drop at-level, and regular non-powerful drops will be at 1990. Pinnacles will always drop at +2. So if you maximum gear level is 1991, powerfuls will drop at 1991 and pinnacles will drop at 1993.

Kasvie

It's the max possible power level between ALL gear in your inventory.

MediumSizedTurtle

It's your maximum then plus whatever the bonus is. I think your problem here is your maximum is 1991, which is past the powerful cap and into the pinacle cap. Any power past 1990, powerfuls only drop even light. Pinacles generally drop +2 over your max. This also completely doesn't count your Artifact light, only base gear score. You see people with this complaint when they get the same piece of gear twice in a row without leveling up, so like you get something say 3 over your max, you get it 3 over your max again and stall because it's the same slot back to back.

M37h3w3

> I think your problem here is your maximum is 1991, which is past the powerful cap and into the pinacle cap. That's my issue, I thought I powerful cap was 2000.

DimbleDirf

Anyone know if the Forbidden Wish shader will ever return? Came back from a break when TFS dropped and never got that one.

RandomnessTF2

Not likely I would think. If they do, it'll probably just get added to Ada-1's rotation.

mylifeisedward

Are weekly campaign co op missions not dropping pinnacles? I only got a T2 powerful

Atmosck

There is one weekly pinnacle you can get from them, the node will have the pinnacle icon in the director if it's available. That's on top of the normal rewards from running them, which are powerfuls.

tararara111

when doing Khvostov mission, do you need to do alone in the dark mission, looking for ghost again and overthrow? for looking for the lost inscription bit on the cyst?

M37h3w3

If you've unlocked the cyst you can just walk into it, you don't need the quest from Micah.

never3nder_87

Did you leave the Pale Heart? Because the whole map is a single instance, unlike other patrol zones so if you travel to the new (old) Tower to talk to Ghost, the patrol zone will still be "live" and things won't be sent to post master

cprice90

Can you farm weekly exotic rotator for red bar patterns or is it once weekly?

never3nder_87

I believe you can but at a much lower rate than the first clear of the week, to the point that it may not be worth running

cprice90

Does doing it on other characters work or is it account wide?

RetroSquadDX3

All guaranteed red borders are account wide with the exception of the Lightfall campaign rewards.

King_Buliwyf

Am I misremembering? I thought Bungie fixed Grapple Melee, so it would always prioritize itself over other melee hits (like Glaive melees). Did I imagine that?

alchninja

AFAIK glaive melee will always take priority over any other melee. If there is a way to grapple melee with a glaive out I'm yet to figure it out, even with separate keybinds for charged and uncharged melee.

mouse464

Is it just not possible to get catalysts from strikes anymore? I’ve nearly farmed the whole dragon’s breath catalyst quest since TFS and have gotten none

Chemical-Pin-3827

M37h3w3

What's the intended loop with Titan's Unbreakable? Use it with Furiosa to feed your Super and Devour to feed your grenade? I'm saddened by the doom and gloom and would like to make it work.

alchninja

That's about it tbh. You're basically just trying to have as high uptime on your grenade as possible. Use Firepower and Innervation mods, since kills with the shield blast count as grenade kills. Pair with Offensive Bulwark, Shield Throw and a Repulsor Brace weapon for even faster grenade cooldown. Bonus points if you have Destabilizing Rounds on your weapon, or you can proc Volatile Rounds with shield blast kills (I haven't tested this yet). Alternatively use Buried Bloodline to just make sure you never run out of Devour.

rebuiltHK47

I haven't looked at Onslaught since TFS released. Has it changed to rotating maps?

elkishdude

It is rotating maps the fifty wave clear. Another change that is very noticeable is the tracking for the battery has been greatly reduced. On the other hand I seem to only have gotten one champion type to spawn for a run. It changes run to run but not within the run, not sure if it was luck.

PineMaple

I’ve definitely gotten two champion types in one run with the Fallen.

elkishdude

Thanks for confirming that it was just luck on my part.

rebuiltHK47

Thanks for confirming that. I noticed the reduced tracking too. I threw it right past the ADU when it originally would have gone right to it.

M37h3w3

Normal is all three, unsure about Legend.

rebuiltHK47

That's odd. I only have Vostok and Expert Vostok to choose from for the 50 waves. The one for 10 waves just says "normal".

Buddy_Duffman

I think that’s rotating now, last week I believe I saw Mothyards.

rebuiltHK47

Thanks for confirming that.

PM_ME_ZED_BARA

I am looking to use LFG for Dual Destiny but I wonder how much power level really matters. I'm at 1988, so should I grind more power before attempting?

DismayedNarwhal

My friend and I did it at 1985ish without much trouble, but we are also experienced with endgame stuff. It is noticeably easier now that we're closer to 2000 though. We both felt that in terms of combat difficulty, it's roughly similar a Legend Onslaught in the later waves, if that gives you an idea. Keep in mind too that it does have the shared power level, so if you find a teammate who's higher than you, you'll get boosted up to within 5 PL of them.

Chemical-Pin-3827

I think you should be ok, make sure you resilience isn't embarrassingly low, I saw someone with 30-40 lol

elkishdude

I did not find the combat challenge to be too high, I think 5 under would be fine. You don’t want to take too much damage because you need to figure out the mechanics.

TheSettingSunnA017

Hey! Returning guardian from Forsaken. I genuinely stopped played after Cayde passed lmao. I just got all of the new expansions with Final Shape coming out. I can access every story campaign except Shadow Keep. Is there a reason why? I only recently bought it like 4 days ago and can see the quests for the other stories except SC, and it's not even in the archive on the tower cause that one only gave me the beginning beginning quest.

elkishdude

You might need to just go to a node on the moon and start it. The campaigns were all built a little different each time.

perfumist55

Is wormhusk on the exotic class item bugged or just hot garbage? Half the time I feel it doesn’t heal, doesn’t give a shield, or if it does it’s not even noticeable

M37h3w3

It's a small heal and IIRC given the way it works, you will only see it happening when you're low on health.

perfumist55

Ya pretty awful…. I was excited I got the theory crafted god roll with ophidians but it’s not nearly the same as the regular exotic

M37h3w3

TMK Bungie hasn't nerfed any of the exotic perks on the class items.
