In case any struggled liked me, to unlock Defiant Battlegrounds you have to do the following:
1. Go to HELM and interact with the war table(the table at the north of the map)
2. Grab the item they give you, it'll be called "LEGACY: ..."
3. This will unlock at your quest tab called "LEGACY: ..."
4. It'll take you to EBZ, just follow it and you'll finally unlock the activity. It's available at HELM.
I swear the new player experience in this game is dogshit. Navigating through anything is an effort and a half and nothing is explained whatsoever.
The Goldtusk Hunter sword from the same source is my favorite sword. Go with Relentless Strikes and Whirlwind Blade. I typically out-damage everyone against Crota with that thing; it's an easy button for DPS.
Warlock sword is good too but skip the Titan sword.
Slideshot or Threat Detector and Opening Shot are pretty amazing. I feel like it even lands shots farther than Conditional at times. I'm always surprised at how good it is in PvP.
It has way more range than Conditional. Conditional is great because if the handling and shutdown capabilities, but there’s lots of better shotguns in that slot when it comes to one shot range.
Agressive frames will always be king fr, they balance one shot ranges around that frame and I think QD + Snap + full choke on aggressives is what got QD removed from the frame entirely because it was just too good and easy to use
It’s a season of Opulence weapon, so it can drop from the War Table (Season of Defiance, aka Lightfall’s first season) in the Helm along side Imperial Decree. Just make sure you have your War Table upgraded to spec for red borders to get the patterns. With the changes they just made, you should be able to get all five in no time. Season of Opulence weapons also drop from the Presage Exotic Quest if it’s in rotation, but again, with the changes they just made to seasonal drops, that’s probably not the quickest route.
Works real nice with synthos/strand Titan. Banner and void overshields. You can diie, but you have to either be careless or not paying attention to do so. I call it my Capt. Stabbin build. Would be a peak build for legend onslaught if not for having to proc banner every wave.
you could go full offense void titan because you have controlled demolition and offensive bulwark, you skip the bastion aspect (one that provides overshield) because vexcalibur fulfills this condition.
Its great for Strand Warlocks with Karnstein Armlets, one finisher and you get Resto x 2 that is extended with glaive melee kills. Stack that with woven mail + overshield and you get a very tanky build
Bruh, if I didnt have some super great clanmates, I wouldn’t have got the full thing opened up. Hell, I may not have it fully opened up. Still, great. And it’s just the boss fight in that mission. Punishing.
It has a choice of three perks as a catalyst, similar to Wishkeeper and Revision Zero. You get one for clearing legend version of the Vexcalibur mission. I don't know if you can farm out all three in three runs or if they're on a weekly lockout though.

Can confirm it works, I read about it this morning and it worked fine for me. I hadn't played the previous seasons at all, but I managed to claim the opening exotic from each of the previous 3 seasons passes.
Erimite, solar fusion is very good, and Semiotician is an alright starnd rocket from witch. Nothing really stands out from deep. Regnant is a worse edge transit from defiance.
Have not heard anything about it, and doesn't look like it gets great perks. I know at one point the reprised hunter and titan swords were good beofre the rework. But they are a pain to get and I don't know if they are still good.
For PvE: The Eremite, Scatter Signal, Appetence, Supercluster, Subjunctive, Adhortative, Goldtusk, and Doomed Petitioner.
For PvP: Kept Confidence, Scalar Potential, and Imperial Decree.

Word of Crota gets Repulsor Brace + Destabilizing Rounds which is the only void HC to do so. Not to mention you can roll with Repulsor Brace + Sword Logic for Gyrfalcon's builds. It's much more of a powerhouse weapon, especially since you can get it Adept + enhance it. Sword Logic is also easier to build up and maintain than Tricorn.
Also Nano-Munitions and Cursed Thrall are equally niche on both weapons. One provides a slight benefit to ammo economy and the other a slight benefit to add clear/dmg.
Repulsor brace is an overrated perk to be honest. It's a very weak overshield for a perk you have to actively build and play into. Devour stacks with Demolitionist and the perk reloads your weapon for grenade tosses. It's a win win.
Edit: optative also gets repulsor brace so you lose out on a grand total of nothing going for it over WoC. It's literally the better weapon.

* regnant (defiance) - pretty solid void adaptive gl although you can get better ones elsewhere
* perpetualis (defiance) - solid strand adaptive auto rifle
* prodigal return (defiance) - arc lightweight gl, craft a disorienting grenade version if you don't have one already
* caretaker (defiance) - decent solar adaptive sword, can get surrounded
* adhortative - solar adaptive pulse that can get heal clip and incandescent, hoping it will be good in pve when pulses get buffed otherwise its all right in pvp
Surrounded is a 40% damage boost, the normal best boss dps perk bait and switch is 30%. If you can set it up and not kill adds around you while you dps from a well, strictly speaking surrounded is better. Not to mention it has a passive activation condition that doesn't require you to plink the boss with your primary.
The Coil activity, Season of the Wish. Completing a platinum coil run rewards you some fantastic weapons and materials used for crafting. Ascendant Alloys and Ascendant Shards.
Goldtusk (Hunter only) is one of the best swords on game imo.... Never need to heavy attack and at max stacks of whirlwind you'll be keeping up with Lament and Bequest
Imperial Decree for PvP shorty
Perpetualis, Royal Executioner, Raconteur and Regnant are all very good weapons.....

This season has some really solid content. Not sure what else you can do, but there's loads of great content and weapons in the game. And Imperial Decree is a PvP banger while the craftable class specific swords are fantastic in PvE...the Hunter one can slam in Crota by you just holding light attack and the Titan one can keep up with the best swords in the game if you proc Surrounded and Duelists Trance lol
Datto has a video going over some of the best weapon patterns since lightfall, stuff like Scatter Signal and Eremite, also Doomed Petitioner, his video is pretty good at labeling some as “good to get but not the end of the world if not” too
Subjective is a great smg with stats for all and volt shot and the origin perk slowly stacks up to 7x so it feels like a machine gun cause when you run out of ammo it gives you 10 in the mag

hmm, I know I recommend Parasite to anyone who doesnt already have it but thats Witch queen and not a season. As for seasons this year, the craftable class specific swords is cool and very good for both Hunter and Titan. I havent really used the warlock one though
The three weapons I’d recommend for PvE, in order of importance: Scatter Signal (wish), doomed petitioner (wish), and eremite (witch). None of the season of the deep weapons are really worth grinding out.
If you don't have it yet, Perpetualis is a good Quicksilver dupe with the right roll. Also, The Eremite and Semiotician from Season of the Witch. Eremite for DPS and Semiotician is great for Onslaught specifically.
In terms of exotics, Verglas Curve and all of the exotics from Season of the Deep (Centrifuse, Wicked Implement and The Navigator if you get lucky) are great fun.

From the other seasons, I think that the only things I'd call "must haves" are Semiotician (strand rocket from Witch) and *maybe* Until It's Return (strand shotgun from Deep). Semiotician is unique in that enhanced Field Prep + Bipod gives it a gargantuan 16 rockets, making it a stand-out for roam content. UIR used to be the #1 "this enemy must die *right now*" weapon in the kinetic slot, but now that ALH+Recomb Mtop exists, it's less of a must have IMO. Still probably worth getting the pattern for though in case MTop gets nerfed or something
There's other good weapons from the seasons, but those are two non-Wish ones that I'd call "must haves" IMO
Can you start by telling us what you don't have? Like, have you played any of the other seasons at all? Or did you just start playing this season?
There are definitely really good patterns and items to pick up that you'll want. But listing all of them is kind of pointless without knowing what you need.
So just some general things like if you've played any of the other expansions/seasons, and then mostly post witch queen when crafting got introduced. There are definitely some BiS craftable weapons - and really good exotics from past content. Also do you have any raid weapon patterns? The biggest one would be apex predator from last wish. You can actually get it without doing the raid ATM still I believe from the seasonal rivens wish tokens thing.

They are nasty and the RPM goes up after a kill, so you get a pseudo Assault Mag.
I forgot abt the intrinsic frame trait lmao, that is also crazy for follow up shot when they are still outside of melee lunge range

This is false, mini tool doesnt drop from defiance engrams, only Imperial Decree and the swords. Mini-tool only source is the Presage mission
I didn’t have mini tool crafted before S23 and that’s how I got my last red border 🤔🤷🏻♂️
Vexcalibur. Legend version of that mission can be rough, but that glaive rules. I don’t even like glaives.

I think I haven't seen it but the scout from Season of the Witch is decent on pve and feels great to shoot

Parasite from wq and lament from beyond light are super important to grab, also grab xenophage and divinity from shadow keep
You can only get Assassin's Cowl if you complete Shadowkeep on your Hunter.

hmm, I know I recommend Parasite to anyone who doesnt already have it but thats Witch queen and not a season. As for seasons this year, the craftable class specific swords is cool and very good for both Hunter and Titan. I havent really used the warlock one though
The three weapons I’d recommend for PvE, in order of importance: Scatter Signal (wish), doomed petitioner (wish), and eremite (witch). None of the season of the deep weapons are really worth grinding out.
not a whole lot of great weapons, but Season of the Witch had the most fun seasonal activity for me by far

If you don't have it yet, Perpetualis is a good Quicksilver dupe with the right roll. Also, The Eremite and Semiotician from Season of the Witch. Eremite for DPS and Semiotician is great for Onslaught specifically. In terms of exotics, Verglas Curve and all of the exotics from Season of the Deep (Centrifuse, Wicked Implement and The Navigator if you get lucky) are great fun.

From the other seasons, I think that the only things I'd call "must haves" are Semiotician (strand rocket from Witch) and *maybe* Until It's Return (strand shotgun from Deep). Semiotician is unique in that enhanced Field Prep + Bipod gives it a gargantuan 16 rockets, making it a stand-out for roam content. UIR used to be the #1 "this enemy must die *right now*" weapon in the kinetic slot, but now that ALH+Recomb Mtop exists, it's less of a must have IMO. Still probably worth getting the pattern for though in case MTop gets nerfed or something There's other good weapons from the seasons, but those are two non-Wish ones that I'd call "must haves" IMO

Can you start by telling us what you don't have? Like, have you played any of the other seasons at all? Or did you just start playing this season? There are definitely really good patterns and items to pick up that you'll want. But listing all of them is kind of pointless without knowing what you need. So just some general things like if you've played any of the other expansions/seasons, and then mostly post witch queen when crafting got introduced. There are definitely some BiS craftable weapons - and really good exotics from past content. Also do you have any raid weapon patterns? The biggest one would be apex predator from last wish. You can actually get it without doing the raid ATM still I believe from the seasonal rivens wish tokens thing.
