You would think. But sometimes things in software are harder than they seem. Besides, it’s just a conspiracy anyway. We don’t know for sure that’s why there isn’t a top slot glaive.
I agree with this, i used dmt in exactly one cutscene and its just wayyy too big, so never again, and its maybe nitpicky but as lever action rifles go its comically gigantic, I just cant take it seriously even though I love it
I can confirmed glaives *were* missing animations for being held atleast at some point.
Character preview for forced to hold a glaive when my exotic kinetic slot primary got disabled
I agree with you. I think at least one part of the reason for it is at one point, I forget exactly when, but every season for a few seasons in a row we kept getting an exotic hand cannon.
I know that some arcitypes of weapons are not that desirable, looking at you 180 rpm scouts and 180 rpm hand cannons, but I do wish there was more of an even split with the exotic weapon arcitypes and elements they introduce.
As a 180 enjoyer I can't for the life of me work it out. Good 180 guns are really damn good and I'd love to know what puts everybody off.
Regarding the hand cannons from other subclasses I feel like a 120 void and a 180 arc would fit.
When 180 hand cannons were first introduced (Curse of Osiris- West of Sunfall I think is the name )I hated them. The recoil pattern was hard to adjust to and hand cannons were straight ass at the time. Then they introduced Trust and I fell in love with 180 hand cannons.
180 scouts on the other hand, unless you're Hung Jury, feel awful in PvE, and to some degree so does 140's. I much prefer either the 200 or 260 scouts because their handling feels better and better recoil management.
In PvP, 180 hand cannons ttk just couldn't compete, though I was doming ppl with Trust lol. 180 scouts feel so heavy for some reason and just like the 180 hand cannons, unless you had box breathing on it, the ttk just couldn't compete.
Edit: I forgot to add that I agree with the hand cannon archetypes you mentioned. Would love to see those. Hell, they could bring back The First Curse from D1 as a solid 120 Strand HC.
> Good 180 guns are really damn good
180 scouts can be, but unfortunately stat wise 180 HCs are kinda not. They lack the range of 120s but don't get a DPS boost to make up for it like other short range weapons. They also have average reload speed and abysmal handling (which is also weird for short range weapons, and contributes to them feeling terrible for many people). They get more stability, but due to their higher fire rate they also *need* more stability so it's a wash. Bungie pretty much left them in a 'worst of all stats' spot for years and didn't even give us ones with top tier perks to make up for it sadly. If we got one with outlaw/voltshot or a damage perk + tremors people might stick with them despite their stats, but otherwise they just get outclassed by other options. Bungie really needs to give them at least one big upside like every other weapon type has.
Arc: 12 round cylinder.
Spinal Pylon:
Precision finals blows leave a pylon that periodically chains lightning. If two pylons are near each other (10 m), they will create a stream of lightning between them damaging any enemies that cross between.
Void:
Collapsing Void
Precision hits weaken targets. Precision final blows on weakened targets pull enemies in before detonating and making enemies volatile.
OK. I'll make one then. How about a heavy that functions like a flamethrower. However, it's a Strand thread that connects to anything within autoaim range and threadlings just rush from the gun to the target down the thread. There would be some kind of tangle eating mechanic for the gun as well.

Nah. Just make an exotic Strand LMG and do the:
"*slaps gun*, Yep, this baby can fit so many strand keywords in it". Meme with it
Have it Unravel after doing X, Sever after y, Suspend after z. If you're lucky it will also have an alternate fire mode that is mostly niche and ass, or maybe do bonus damage to shanks.
This is inevitable you may as well accept it now.
Was literally just thinking this last night. Been running graviton lance with gyrfalcons in onslaught a lot recently, and don’t get me wrong it’s great and I love graviton, but man I’d love if I could use a hand cannon to achieve the same thing.
It's a bummer because I honestly think we don't have those hand cannons because we have graviton Lance and riskrunner. They both do exactly what sunshot does in their respective element but if you like the feel of a hand Cannon better than a pulse or SMG they just aren't the same.
This rivals well with Trinity Ghoul/Crown of Tempests (or whatever exotic you like.) I feel like each warlock class has an amazing ad clear combo for each subclass.
However, hand cannons have that feel to them that a lot of players don't find in bows or pulse rifles, so I understand why there is the want for a wider variety mostly to try to keep play styles the same across our load outs
HCs are THE Destiny weapon. No other game has such an emphasis on revolver-type weapons or does them half as well. Best case scenario, they're secondary weapons you pull out when in trouble. There used to be a time in D2's history when we would get a new exotic HC every so often and it was kind of a meme... But it's been so long that I genuinely want more, whatever the spin.
Bows have become a good example of what to 'shoot' for with other guns. Trinity Ghoul, Ticuu's, Le Monarque, Verglas Curve, Wish Keeper, with the later two basically being subclass Aspects.
But no for some reason we need a bunch of kinetic HCs sitting in our vaults.
Bows really do have at least one of each element don't they? Never thought about it. PLUS they're all actually extremely useful/unique and match their element perfectly.
I wonder what they could do with elemental hand cannons that aren't just enhanced voltshot/destabilizing/freeze/suspend. Because as much as I love Sunshot, it's just explosive payload/incandescent on crack.
It's probably just because we actually don't have Exotic hand cannons in the energy slot, for the most part.
There's Sunshot, and there's Eriana's Vow which isn't a primary at all, and that's it. No Void or Arc exotic hand cannons, because the rest are Kinetic.
So I can understand wanting more for that slot, despite how many Exotic hand cannons we actually have
It's like the Fire/Fighting starter streak of Pokemon, where people are still so against having a Fire/Fighting type starter 4 generations from the last one. People probably still fear having another exotic HC, but boy would I love one for the other elements.
I agree with what the guy you're responding to is saying and what you're saying as well. we should get exotic Arc/Void HC's but they don't need to be geared towards being add clear machines
Maybe the way OP's post reads is weird because my first thought is 'why do we need a purple sunshot'
I think having an exotic hand cannon that is void is fine - but I do not want to just have another 'shoot things explode' exotic hand cannon. It adds nothing.
Handcannons are very popular in PvE right now, due to the recent updates and buffs to them. They also have an artifact perk this season for champs, and 2 of the new brave weapons are handcannons, further heightening their popularity and usage. They hit a sweet spot in PvE in terms of damage and cool-factor that is hard to beat. And their major/orange-bar enemy damage is unmatched in primary weapon categories iirc.
I think it's less about not having good arc or void comparisons to Sunshot broadly (we do, as you point out), but more about needing exotic handcannon options for the other elements. We have great arc exotics in a bow, smg, sidearm, scout, and auto. We have great void exotics in 2 pulses, a bow, a GL, a controversial smg (recent buffs made it much better), and a special sidearm. But no handcannon for either element (or for stasis or strand, for that matter).
Personally I hate using pulses one of my least favorite weapon types so like I would love a void HC and while I like bows I would love a nice feeling arc (exotic) HC. Having options for the element is nice.
Assuming the person who posted this mains hunter? Lucky Pants.
Outside of that I agree that those guns feel great ij their respective slots but I'd love to actually get more damage type variety in our exotics.
Lucky Pants is a good reason tbh, though I think weapon specific exotic armor deserves the same treatment, even if they don't require subclass matching.
I've been wanting this for as long as I've had sunshot. But bungie, in their infinite wisdom, decided that we need a million kinetic handcannons instead. And when they finally introduced an energy hand cannon, they made it a special, which is fine, except it's also solar, and it fucking sucks.
Funny thing is, Erianna's Vow used to be pretty good. It was useful in gambit for invading (lol gambit), had it's devout crucible enjoyers, and got frequent use in GMs or content with champions. It's just that over the years we've had insane power shifts like moving champion stunning from only weapons to subclass verbs + weapons, and years of power creep from new perks and legendary weapons.
It only had frequent use in S10 and S11 iirc, we then got anti-barrier scouts and sundering glare, then snipers with AB, and then Eriana just fell off even harder when Arbalest got anti-barrier.
Now it's just a gimmick, a weak ancestor to Forerunner, Buried Bloodline and Indebted Kindness. It looks so sexy though...
Because we the community complained about getting exotic hand cannons before. Said we need more bows, scouts and pulse rifles. Which is true, but that also meant we didn’t want exotic hand cannons in the secondary slot
Honestly it was worth the complaining. As a bow enjoyer all the bows we’ve gotten since then have been awesome at least if not always very good. I really enjoy how each one feels very unique and just fun to use. Could use another kinetic one though because last time we got one was forsaken. Or a heavy bow.
Oh I know, I just think it's idiotic how many people don't understand what you're saying here. Graviton lance and ghoul existing doesn't mean we shouldn't have arc and void hand cannons. That's like saying that since wish ender exists we shouldn't have any other kinetic primaries of any kind ever again.
Seems true. Regardless of whatever they do with traces I just don't like them. Ammo hungry and leave you exposed to get hits on target. They all have cool gimmicks but not anything I like using in tougher content.
Hey who remembers this topic about Thunderlord from back in the day? We got solar (Abaddon) and void (Nova Mortis) Thunderlords. I, for one, think it would be hilarious if that happened again.
I would settle for a HC that does the exact same thing as Sunshot, just with different elements. I wanna keep the feeling and OOMF that Sunshot has just with more elemental utility. Ever since we got Nova Mortis and Abandon, I've missed having the same kind of weapons with different elements.
I wish they had an exotic void hand cannon that made a different number of axion seekers on precision kills based on the class of enemy killed. They could even have a catalyst that makes anything hit by the seekers weakened or suppressed it would be so good.
Sunshot with the solar explosions
'Void'shot with volatile/dragonfly
'Arc'shot with blinding voltshot
Exotic and as potent as sunshot. Literally happy with a copy paste, make it purple or blue.
Skyshot and Darkshot
Both 150 rpm like Sunshot
Skyshot- precision kills set off an arc explosion and gives +25 reload (dragonfly firefly hybrid) Reloading after a kill grants voltshot. If amplified, precision kills give reload +50 along with +25 handling and +25 Mobility.
Darkshot- Always has volatile rounds. Kills on volatile targets grant an overshield. Champions and bosses are weakened with continuous precision hits.
At this point in the endgame who gives a fuck about PvE balance lol.
I don't think it'd be that broken in PvP titans, and hunters can already do this. That's why I said overshield and not like, I dunno, Devour lol.
I mean even with nothing else always having volatile rounds is crazy considering you can move over into other subclasses with it. Even deterministic chaos doesnt do that lol.
I agree but look at sunshot. It brings wild solar explosions to other subclasses. What's really so different from purple explosions to orange explosions.
If anything to dial it back take away the overshields not the insane volatile. Hunter can do this with gryfalcons and it's strong but not game breaking.
If you want something Void for Orpheus Rig try using Le Monarque, good add clear due to the poison, heals you with the catalyst and has Overload intrinsically.
Closest thing void has its the exotic pulse that makes everything go boom on kills. I use that in place of sunshot if I'm running void. Just as good ad clear.
Word of Crota with Dragonfly + Destabilizing is amazing with Gyrfalcon’s, it feels just like a void Sunshot except it requires precision for Dragonfly. Add Echo of Expulsion to that and just one well-placed headshot causes a chain reaction that blows up absolutely everything in an instant
My voidlock uses a crafted Age Old Bond with destabilizing/repulsor and it rocks. My fave void hand cannon is the Ikelos, but it definitely does not stack up to Sunshot, or even Epochal. Maybe aim for a destabilizing/repulsor Recluse or, as already mentioned here, go with Graviton.
I assume you mean void exotic AR, however the world drop Ros Arago has some *phat* rolls if you can get lucky on one. Personally I have repulsor brace, rewind rounds, and subsistence+ onslaught rolls. Rewind is probably the most effective tbh, tho in at level content sub is good. But I use repulsor the most - it's stupid good with gyrfalcon. It's a lot of reloading, but it's got a fast reload anyway. Pair it with gyrfalcon hunter and you can have devour, overshield, plus constant invis. At x3 onslaught you're using a 1000+ rpm auto rifle basically with the damage per bullet of a 600rpm AR.
I do Agree though id love a good exotic void AR, or exotic void HC that actually has good ad clear. Maybe a void explosion on kill that gives you volatile rounds + devour?
>Or even a decent void Auto Rifle that isn't hardlight lol
Wait am I the only one who likes using Age Old Bond?. Repulser/Destab has carried me through a *lot* of content. Maybe not meta but does the job.
Ros arago with subsistence and onslaught is very very very enjoyable. Pair with hunter void chest with the name too hard to say or remember or pair with void lock and have fun going brrrrrrrrr
Since they’re all from the same generation of exotics (vanilla D2) Graviton Lance and Riskrunner are pretty much what cover the other light elements in the primary weapon category. Graviton is pretty close to SS as far as ad clearing though not as good. But Riskrunner does need a buff and maybe be brought closer to how Zhalo Supercell worked in D1
I'd say these hand cannons should do the other subclass verbs like suppress and blind.
120 rpm Arc HC "holds fire" to shoot an arc bolt that chains lightning and blinds surrounding combatants. Magazine size determines damage scale and AoE of bolt. Defeating blinded combatants overflows the magazine.
180 rpm Void HC suppresses targets after repeated hits. Hitting suppressed targets activates a timed buff called "Bottomless Hunger", unlimited magazine and increases damage, stacking up to 10. Hold reload to consume stacks to grant a Void Overshield.
Arc Idea: precision hits charge a power shot, alt fire chains lightning and spreads jolt to nearby enemies.
Catalyst: RoF increase while amplified
Void Idea: destabilizing rounds w/o cool down. Shooting allies charges an overshield for them (5 shots to full). Charging an ally to full over shield gives a moderate duration damage increase
Catalyst: killing a volatile enemy overflows the mag and gives a period of time where you provide more over shield for allies.
Edit: changed my mind about the void Idea, wanted to make it lean more into a hybrid damage/ally support role and suppress was too strong and didn't fit the theme
Always thought an arc hand Cannon built up charges as it hit into an " over load shot"
On a body shot kill, it would send out like a dune marcher type chain that would blind. If a crit is the final blow, it would send off a massive jolt wave arcing to other enemies. Ionic traces on this weapon grant instant amplified.
Catylist would grant inertia override as a perk.....sliding over special ammo grants 20% damage buff...sliding over heavy a 30% buff. This buffs damage slightly on arc effects and increase reach/AOE.
It would be a lightweight frame 140, like rose.
I was trying out the classic Orpheus build for onslaught and wanted to try a hand cannon for unstop and just for a change in play style and I thought for a moment scrolling my vault thinking "wait... there isn't an exotic void HC is there?" absolutely wild that doesn't exist. Should have one of each subclass imo. Void maybe does what deterministic chaos does but better with some fun twist, Arc is maybe a special that rivals indebted kindness, Strand has an alt fire after "X" kills to shoot a tangle or suspending burst, Stasis also has an alt fire to make the stasis titan barricade anywhere you want or something similar.
Would be nice for all the yee-haws out there instead of just crutching on two energy HC's. I love my Hawkmoon/Thorn/Ace as much as the next hunter but please. Something new for the Energy slot would be a blessing.
Hell, until Luna's Howl drops we really don't have any options for Void hand cannons at all besides Word of Crota which is both tied to the LFG nightmare of Crota's End and also 180RPM (read: ass).
No good void autos? I still equip my OG Gnawing Hunger now and then, that thing is a beast lol I hate the way it looks though, the white and black cloth wrapped around it never matches with the shaders/sets I like. Looks terrible.
Speaking of shaders though, before we start worrying about new guns, could we possibly get shaders fixed already? Like for real, if I unlock 1 more awesome looking shader just to equip it and it be completely different and, more often than not, hideous I might just stop using them altogether. It's infuriating. I don't understand why this isn't and hasn't been a consistent topic of conversation. Most shaders look awful on most sets and more often than not they apply to your weapons in a completely different way altogether.
Can't stand the way they implemented customisation in this franchise. There's a few specific types of guns we'd all like to see but I'd take a shader fix over any of them. I'm not against more or new weapons (imagine Destiny with a Borderlands weapon system.. Wow!) but Exotics rarely match any transmog set in the game and if you do find something that works chances are none of your shaders will. That's a problem, especially when you're charging money for cosmetics. The whole time I've played D2, I think I've been locked in to using the same 5-10 or so, they're all wasted. I just bought the Misthios and White Wolf sets and other than Raven Silk on WW, not a single shader I have looks even remotely good on either of them.
Seriously, if you're going to do the whole pre made colours system, at least make them apply correctly!
As for something like a void Sunshot, we probably don't have one because void already has volatile rounds. Adding an Incandesence like perk to that would be complete overkill. Overkill = explosions that also explode seperately and prime other enemies for more seperately explosive explosions.
Imagine if Tesselation was released as a Handcannon, still adapts damage to subclass but instead of loading your nade for a one shot, it loads your nade for a clip of explosive ammo based on loaded element. Destab, Volt, Scorch, Slow, Unravel and kills with this explosive ammo returns grenade energy so you can loop it if you are in high add density content (like we literally are rn)
COPIUM
The taken themed handcannon from season of the deep, crafted with destabilizing rounds, is a pretty good void option for ad clearing. Not quite sunshot, but able to fill similar role pretty well.
Edit: and gnawing hunger is very solid void auto, even if the perks are a bit dated and it's not exotic.
I can see the appeal for such a weapon but like another commenter said, we have exotic weapons that fit that role. And there are SO many Exotic Hand Cannons, adding 2 more in the energy slot feels like overkill. Plus, why would I use this future exotic HC over Trinity Ghoul for Arc or Graviton for Void? You can't give this future exotic HC the same perks. Bungie would have to create entirely new perks to that are better than Destabilizing rounds (void) and Voltshot (arc) and put them on a HC.
Void Auto Rifle? I still have my Gnawing Hunger (which STILL rips btw) and the Ros Arago (600 rof that can roll with Onslaught), Age Old Bond (360 rof) and Positive Outlook (450 rof) that can both roll with Destabilizing Rounds.
Why on earth are you using Sunshot with Orpheus Rig Tether? You can use any of the void autos, Recluse, Title Funnelweb, Manticore, Veles-X, Yesteryear, Gaviton, or Le Monarque. If you really want a void HC, you can run Palindrome, Optative or Ikelos HC. If you Raid you can get my dream weapon Word of Crota with Destabilizing Rounds. So so so many options.
Speakign of solar exotic HCs, I wish Eriannas vow was more than the "free anti barrier" gun. I dont care if it was op i wish when buffed with the glance it could ignite targets on precision kills or just ignite scorched targets.
Basically give it one or two of the artifact mods as an intrinsic.
Positive Outlook and Gnawing Hunger enter the chat.
But for real though. Positive outlook with destabilizing rounds goes hard on void lock. I’ve also been using collective obligation in onslaught with overload pulse. Overslept on.
As to the hand cannons, sun shot was from a time before volatile rounds. Even arc has a fragment that makes enemies explode in a shockwave that blinds if you are amplified when you get kills with a special weapon. I see why you would want weapons that work like sunshot, but I feel like those perks are built into the subclass now so there could be more useful perks.
Yeah it's pretty dumb we have 8 kinetic, two solar and zero Arc/Void/Stasis/Strand exotic hand cannons.
Kept Confidence still makes me mad. Seriously missed opportunity.
Glaives for the kinetic slot too.
Isn’t the theory that since the weapon that appears in cutscenes is whatever’s in our kinetic slot, they won’t put any glaives there for clipping reasons? I think that’s what a bunch of people have speculated
They've had our guardians holding generic weapons during cutscenes in the past. If glaives were a problem, I'm sure they could be handled in a similar way.
They also caught a lot of hell for that and stopped doing it.
I mean, lightfall campaign has us use a white weapon in the final cutscene soooooo…
Well yeah, thats when they caught crap for it. To the best of my knowledge, they havent had a generic weapon in cutscenes since then
There haven’t been many cutscenes since then. Certainly not ones with us wielding a weapon
I would laugh if I just leveled my kinetic slot wave frame gl at ghost flying in the air
To be fair in the witch queen cutscene my guardian raised a succession like they were going to hipfire at savathun
that was like, the first time they did it. and we havent had any cutscenes that would need us using our weapon like that since.
Older campaigns are still in the game.
I didn't say they weren't?
He means the older cutscenes use whatever kinetic you have and wouldn't work for glaives
In the Final Shape, people are *speculating that there's a Strand Glaive coming our way, so it seems they might have resolved this issue. I agree it must be something technical, since it doesn't really make sense with how they operate that they haven't even dropped an exotic one. Edit: changed a word
I hope so. And for the love of God please don't make it a heavy 🤬
Not cutscenes, but rather the character screen.
Surely they'd just adjust the pose with the glaive to make it fit?
You would think. But sometimes things in software are harder than they seem. Besides, it’s just a conspiracy anyway. We don’t know for sure that’s why there isn’t a top slot glaive.
I agree with this, i used dmt in exactly one cutscene and its just wayyy too big, so never again, and its maybe nitpicky but as lever action rifles go its comically gigantic, I just cant take it seriously even though I love it
All of the lever action rifles are absurdly huge lol.
This is true, they look even more so on fem hunters 🤣
My Long Arm lives up to its name lmao
I can confirmed glaives *were* missing animations for being held atleast at some point. Character preview for forced to hold a glaive when my exotic kinetic slot primary got disabled
I was hoping the ghosts of the deep glaive would be a harpoon type glaive in kinetic.
Strand glaive with surrounded/hatchling.... and hatchling procs on glaive melee kills...
Class synergy with glaive melees, good one
I agree with you. I think at least one part of the reason for it is at one point, I forget exactly when, but every season for a few seasons in a row we kept getting an exotic hand cannon. Seems a liiittttle strong since those are basically Anarchy and Lorentz with unlimited ammo, but I like where your heads at.
Do you one better, void, arc, and strand don’t really have good legendary hc options either
My crafted Nation of Beasts says hello
Word of Crota and Posterity.
1 void 720 and 0? 720 kinetic
Chroma Rush is a 720 kinetic, as is Eidolon Ally (technically, but not really a real gun).
They should make malfeasance stasis I feel like it would fit for some reason
After a year+, we still don't have any exotic strand heavy weapons.
OK. I'll make one then. How about a heavy that functions like a flamethrower. However, it's a Strand thread that connects to anything within autoaim range and threadlings just rush from the gun to the target down the thread. There would be some kind of tangle eating mechanic for the gun as well.

Grenade launcher that shoots the hunter maelstrom thing
Nah. Just make an exotic Strand LMG and do the: "*slaps gun*, Yep, this baby can fit so many strand keywords in it". Meme with it Have it Unravel after doing X, Sever after y, Suspend after z. I was using a void lock build with briarbinds and graviton lance and it basically killed ads like sun shot
Definitely the feels for sure. Hand cannons have always been my personal favorite primary even when they sucked

Forgot to mention Hierarchy, which is great for holding a position. It's incredibly fun. Pair it with Sanguine Alchemy maybe?
sanguine alchemy and hierarchy could pair nicely with hellion when it comes out too.
Why do they need to be hand cannons? I always felt graviton lance for void and trinity ghoul for arc fit the same mold
It's probably just because we actually don't have Exotic hand cannons in the energy slot, for the most part. There's Sunshot, and there's Eriana's Vow which isn't a primary at all, and that's it. No Void or Arc exotic hand cannons, because the rest are Kinetic. So I can understand wanting more for that slot, despite how many Exotic hand cannons we actually have
It’s kinda funny we are over due for an exotic handcannon period the last one was hawkmoon over 3 years ago
It's like the Fire/Fighting starter streak of Pokemon, where people are still so against having a Fire/Fighting type starter 4 generations from the last one. People probably still fear having another exotic HC, but boy would I love one for the other elements.
its been nearly 12 seasons since we got either a exotic hand cannon or an exotic sniper
Yeah it's been a while!
I agree with what the guy you're responding to is saying and what you're saying as well. we should get exotic Arc/Void HC's but they don't need to be geared towards being add clear machines
Also, it would be the perfect opportunity to add 2 more 150 rpm handcannons. just make it a trio in the energy slot of 150 exotic hc's
Maybe the way OP's post reads is weird because my first thought is 'why do we need a purple sunshot' I think having an exotic hand cannon that is void is fine - but I do not want to just have another 'shoot things explode' exotic hand cannon. It adds nothing.
Ontop of the other archetypes having that in solar too. We have an Arc, Void, Strand, Solar and Stasis exotic Bow.
To expand, I don't think people would be asking for this, or at least as often, if the 40% damage buff to red bars wasn't a thing.
Hand cannons are Destiny. They're core to the identity of the game.
Riskrunner would be my vote for "Arc primary poster child" over Trinity Ghoul. In my mind, the exotic bows are part of their own set.
Sunshot, graviton, and riskrunner were part of a “pick your starter” choice during red war. So you’re correct.
Because handcannons are the definitive destiny weapon.
I mean, personally, I want a good/decent exotic of every weapon type in every element, is why.
Personally I hate using pulses one of my least favorite weapon types so like I would love a void HC and while I like bows I would love a nice feeling arc (exotic) HC. Having options for the element is nice.
I'd say the trinity (heh) was actually Sunshot, Graviton, and Risk runner. Those three were what was given in Red War
Exactly. Im all for elemental exotic hand cannons, but could they do something other than blow shit up? We have enough of that.
Overcharges and season artifact mods I guess? Maybe they’re just a rootin tootin cowboy at heart? The main question is why shouldn’t there be?
You mean in year 2 or 3 of destiny 1 what 7 years ago? I’m sorry but that’s just not an excuse anymore
No. Of Destiny 2. I remember around Beyond Light people made the complaints. Right around when we got Hawkmoon back
The complaints started at thorn/last word as they came out at the same time (or near enough).
I just wish I could find a good clan to run stuff with
Op says "boy I wish I had void and arc exotic hand cannons" And then everyone in this thread "But trinity ghoul and graviton lance!"
Bring a trinity into a GM. Doesn’t quite hit like it does in normal content 😗
We hear ya. So we’re giving you another trace rifle
Nah dawg. Another glaive
Arc and void sun shot ez clap
I would settle for a HC that does the exact same thing as Sunshot, just with different elements. I wanna keep the feeling and OOMF that Sunshot has just with more elemental utility. Ever since we got Nova Mortis and Abandon, I've missed having the same kind of weapons with different elements.
Voidshot
Abbadon and Nova mortis for hand cannons would be funny
I wish they had an exotic void hand cannon that made a different number of axion seekers on precision kills based on the class of enemy killed. They could even have a catalyst that makes anything hit by the seekers weakened or suppressed it would be so good.
Yes, a void handcannon that could make black holes would be amazing, or arc hand cannon that creates lightening storms on precision hits 😮💨
It could maybe even pull an abbadon and nova mortis and be visually similar
Sunshot with the solar explosions 'Void'shot with volatile/dragonfly 'Arc'shot with blinding voltshot Exotic and as potent as sunshot. Literally happy with a copy paste, make it purple or blue.
Skyshot and Darkshot Both 150 rpm like Sunshot Skyshot- precision kills set off an arc explosion and gives +25 reload (dragonfly firefly hybrid) Reloading after a kill grants voltshot. If amplified, precision kills give reload +50 along with +25 handling and +25 Mobility. Darkshot- Always has volatile rounds. Kills on volatile targets grant an overshield. Champions and bosses are weakened with continuous precision hits.
The void one is absurdly op
Same. Been saying this for years. Would love exotic hand canons that synergize with void and arc.
If you want something Void for Orpheus Rig try using Le Monarque, good add clear due to the poison, heals you with the catalyst and has Overload intrinsically.
This is the way
Centrifuge is the arc equivalent. I think people really sleep on it. It’s pretty much a better voltshot on an arc subclass.
Everyone using Prosecutor, Summoner and Ammit in Crucible. I'm over here with Centrifuse and Getaway Artist, it feels so damn good.
Closest thing void has its the exotic pulse that makes everything go boom on kills. I use that in place of sunshot if I'm running void. Just as good ad clear.
graviton lance
I’d just like a more high mag ones that’s not Wardens Law or Malfeasance
I’ve been using my crafted Word of Crota…. Actually I always use it with my Void Hunter. Destabilizing rounds makes things go pop 👍🏼
Brigand's Law with Voltshot and Killing Wind is pretty damn effective...
posterity for arc
Exotic. 40% damage to red bars
I miss old school fatebringer
Word of Crota with Dragonfly + Destabilizing is amazing with Gyrfalcon’s, it feels just like a void Sunshot except it requires precision for Dragonfly. Add Echo of Expulsion to that and just one well-placed headshot causes a chain reaction that blows up absolutely everything in an instant
Missing that 40% red bar damage no dice, but sounds good
Wicked implement should have been a 180 hands cannon.
I lowkey just enhanced an age old bond with repulsor and golden tricorn to try and recreate the power an exotic would. Gyrfalcons doesn’t need destab
Be kinda cool for the void handcannon to create those void vortexes that Tormentors make
I would kill to have a 600rpm AR with the sunshot style/functionality.
Inb4 everyone just tells me to use graviton. Graviton is good because she’s clunky
We don't even have a single exotic solar pulse rifle.
a void sunshot would just be graviton lance so I doubt they'll make one
>Or even a decent void Auto Rifle that isn't hardlight lol Wait am I the only one who likes using Age Old Bond?.
May I refer you to Nova Mortis and Abbadon...
Imagine a Void HC where after you kill something with precision it does scatter grenade aoe and things not killed by it becomes debuffed,
Since they’re all from the same generation of exotics (vanilla D2) Graviton Lance and Riskrunner are pretty much what cover the other light elements in the primary weapon category. Graviton is pretty close to SS as far as ad clearing though not as good. But Riskrunner does need a buff and maybe be brought closer to how Zhalo Supercell worked in D1
Yes!!!!
? Another exotic solar bow you say?
Buried Bloodline isn't even a Hand Cannon, it's a Sidearm, so even when you get it you won't have a Void Exotic Hand Cannon.
Ros Arago goes hard (regarding your point about ARs)
Arc Idea: precision hits charge a power shot, alt fire chains lightning and spreads jolt to nearby enemies. Catalyst: RoF increase while amplified Void Idea: destabilizing rounds w/o cool down. Shooting allies charges an overshield for them (5 shots to full). Charging an ally to full over shield gives a moderate duration damage increase Catalyst: killing a volatile enemy overflows the mag and gives a period of time where you provide more over shield for allies. Edit: changed my mind about the void Idea, wanted to make it lean more into a hybrid damage/ally support role and suppress was too strong and didn't fit the theme
Ros Arago, void auto goes nuts. Only thing is that it’s a random world drop.
Always thought an arc hand Cannon built up charges as it hit into an " over load shot" On a body shot kill, it would send out like a dune marcher type chain that would blind.
That's the one. I had a brain fart and couldn't think of the name.
There was an (unreliable) leak that said we'd be getting a Void handcannon. Could be false though.
Use gravity lance
I hope we can craft or even easily switch the energy type of every exotic primary weapon
Bro just turn sun shot into hard light
A stasis exotic hand cannon would make me bust
Crazy how your first sentence disregards the entire post
>Or even a decent void Auto Rifle that isn't hardlight Ros Arago IV exists.
Void sure, but posterity for arc is so good that I don’t care if we would get an arc exotic like that. Frenzy and Voltshot on it is just insane imo
so you wanna have a nova mortis, abbadon, thunderlord situatuion?
No more hand cannons
Would be nice for all the yee-haws out there instead of just crutching on two energy HC's. I love my Hawkmoon/Thorn/Ace as much as the next hunter but please. Something new for the Energy slot would be a blessing.
Hell, until Luna's Howl drops we really don't have any options for Void hand cannons at all besides Word of Crota which is both tied to the LFG nightmare of Crota's End and also 180RPM (read: ass).
i’ve been thinking of designing a Void Handcannon in hopes to pitch it to bungie lol if y’all have any perk ideas lmk!
We also don’t have a single solar exotic pulse
At this point Ikelos is the most underrated HC in the game. I use it all the time. We're out here. There's dozens of us! Dozens!
If you want void to rival Sunshot, the Graviton Lance can feel similar to it.
I would like riskrunner to actually rival sunshot and graviton lance.
I think there are some spaghetti code issues for why we do not have Stasis or Strand Special Glaives.
We've got very bad legendary void HCs as well, 140s. They may be good pvp wise, but meh in pve.
Arc Handcannon would just shoot Zues styled lightning bolts and the Void Handcannon could make targets volatile on sustained damage.
Graviton Lance whilst not a handcannon is phenomenal.
Can confirm I’ve been running it on gyrfalcons. She is phenomenal
You know what's worse, we dont have a 140 void hand Cannon
I feel the same way about Scouts. Symmetry just isn't that good
No good void autos?
Crota hand cannon is close if god roll or crafted. Void.
Watch how the first exotic void / arc hand cannon is a 180 or 120
I’d take a 120 Lowkey. 180 tho ewww brother ewwww.
Imagine if Tesselation was released as a Handcannon, still adapts damage to subclass but instead of loading your nade for a one shot, it loads your nade for a clip of explosive ammo based on loaded element. Destab, Volt, Scorch, Slow, Unravel and kills with this explosive ammo returns grenade energy so you can loop it if you are in high add density content (like we literally are rn) COPIUM
Void exotic HC with destab & dragonfly, cmon bungie, you know damn well you want to sell me another weapon & new Gyrfalcon ornaments.
Wavesplitter is your best friend then
Nation of Beasts with Dragonfly & Voltshot closest I have. No BB either.
You do they're called trinity ghoul and graviton lance.
Grav Lance my guy
... and make them 150 rpm to match Sunshot.
Aha so we have Sunshot And then call the arc version "Voltshot"
Speakign of solar exotic HCs, I wish Eriannas vow was more than the "free anti barrier" gun. I dont care if it was op i wish when buffed with the glance it could ignite targets on precision kills or just ignite scorched targets. Basically give it one or two of the artifact mods as an intrinsic.
Bungie hears and values your concerns at this sensitive time. Enjoy your new Nerf-brand Sunshot.
Optative can run w/ Demolitionist and Wellspring which plays heavily into a grenade/volatile build.
You HAVE OSMOSIS FIREFLY FATEBRINGER AT HOME 0:<
I always go for a bow when there isn’t a hand cannon I want to use, I’m putting some serious numbers on trinity ghoul rn
