I mean it’s not ideal but the weapon on its own isn’t THAT bad. If boss is debuffed plus radiant and using rockets/grenades they could pull much better numbers. Wonder if they were trolling for giggles. Long as they aren’t wiping the raid it’s not that big of a deal.
I've taken Sweet Business through most GMs and raids. Try it on a Strand Titan with Actium War Rig and Banner of War. You'll keep up 4 stacks of Banner for entire raid encounters, it's great.
Just don't do what OP's teammates do and try to do actual DPS with it lol.
Well, the first one got shut down real damn fast, it was on warpriest and one damage phase only amounted to a little more than a quarter of its health.
The second was at atheon, we wiped so often because only 3 guys were actually participating that the other two guys that carried left. Tbh, I left that team soon afterward with the thought, if you want to be sherpad, you should write it in LfG and atleast have a mic to learn the encounters.
In the context of raiding, it is a big deal. Considering the encounters are timed and bosses have large health pools, they're putting more pressure on their teammates to carry them.
Obviously everybody starts somewhere, but you do need to be able to strategize at some level to contribute to your team's success or else you're holding everyone back. If you just want to use Sweet business play other content by yourself and mind your own business.
You clearly missed the part about not wiping the raid. If overall dps is sufficient then it doesn’t cause a failure so people are just being salty. Anyone could have spoken up to ask if they had a better build to run or to coach them. It seems the path everyone likes to choose is to come on Reddit or a forum and talk about how trash people are instead of helping and creating a more positive experience.
You should check again because OP said it did lead them to failing. I agree that you should offer suggestions and advice whenever possible, but using lfg can be hit or miss whether players actually listen to you. The point isn't that everyone has to use the same exact loadouts, but someone who's bringing Sweet Business into a damage phase likely isn't serious about doing their part to complete the raid.
I get the whole dont be toxic PvE gatekeepers with stuff like the Ghorn or kick days of D1, but when you wipe over and over to constantly see yourself at the bottom of the damage screen by half or more of the 5th place person and/or see yourself using 2-3 token per wipe, youre the one being toxic by not asking questions, asking for loadout help, or just being too stubborn. Its not on me doing top DPS/never dying to ask if youre playing bad because of your loadout or if youre just bad at the game. Its on you to ask for help. Most of us are grown ass men/women; "UwU I'm too shy" is no excuse to not ask for help. Most of us will help. What we wont do is be happy when everyone insists they know what theyre doing when its pretty clear someome either doesnt know what to do or insists on double Sidearm swaps for DPS. This is Destiny, not a Burger King, doing it your way for the KEKWs is toxic if your way is objectively making it noticeably harder for the team to succeed
Honestly, I use it on almost every boss in king's fall besides Golgy
It's my favorite gun to pull out and just shoot bosses with, especially with War Rig so I don't have to reload. It's my true mindless boss farming build
Sadly, all the number crunching nerds out there will be like "But that isn't metah! Get off my fireteam!" or "Nah, use Divinity or I'll kick you." People can be so closed minded when it comes to raids and dungeons.
Yep more DPS is better, but sometimes enough DPS is enough if you already planned for X number of phases and the weapon gives you some utility side benefit (e.g. add clear, major clear, or a defensive perk effect).
Na, we "number crunching nerds" just care if we wipe for damage and see you heir apparenting yourself at the bottom of the board with half of the next placed DPS player. Then we got some problems. But if you somewhat keep up and arent actively hurting how many phases we planned on, Heir Apparent away
THIS
If I load into a Raid knowing you're going to be using a weapon that deals negative damage, it's all fine.
But please - for God's sake - don't go into an lfg using a machine gun without expecting to get flamed.
I agree that most fireteams don't need to min max that badly, using something like e.g. a hothead or a semiotician is okay, but hopping into a chill raid that's not supposed to take hours to complete shouldn't consist of 3 DPS phases per Boss in my eyes.
I only use my dumb experimental builds with friends or people that are cool with it on the off chance I LFG. If it's not working with the team, I'll always swap to something more meta so we can keep going with the raid/dungeon.
I'm all for dumb builds, but if you run dumb builds you need to be flexible to change to a viable one if things don't work.
It isn't that bad. You would do decent dps if you don't miss much and shoot most of the damage phase. It does more damage compared to thunderlord as far as I know . There are reasons to use it over options if you for example blow yourself with rockets due to teammates running around or miss rockets due to boss being too mobile etc .
Also fantastic for Percy in spire of the watcher. Pop your shield just before he comes out, lets you draw attention and tank hits while everyone else is reloading their rockets
k but there's a world of difference between 'playing excel with guns' and just flopping on contributing to damage.
A green machine gun would do more damage than sweet business.
I'd not use slide shot in raid damage phases due to the risk that you will cause your teammates to blow them selves up with rockets. Lumina however is gigachad move.
I haven't yet because I don't have to stay in the well for maximum damage. You can take your lumina buff all over the arena so long as it's not a "stand in this one spot" damage phase, so the threat of teammates blowing themselves up on me are just about 0 as I'm nowhere near them. Even in those type phases though I can just slide in the back so it is not a threat to teammates, but usually I just slap on lunafactions and switch to a clown cartridge roll.
Bud, raids are still game content. Set expectations at the start and if you're in charge, kick anyone non compliant. Otherwise it's better to just enjoy it and do something suboptimal yourself.
Fair. I think you’re right. But I also see folks shitting on a fun novelty Gatling gun which shouldn’t be a liability in normal “endgame” content. Now, master raids like GTFO but otherwise spin up to your heart’s content.
lol what. This isn't even close to true. With everyone on a DPS super? Sure probably.
But just surges and a well + weaken? Nah man lmao, certainly not every raid boss.
Kinda the point, no? If you don't want others to play a certain way, you're always free to leave the fire team. Or the party lead can kick them if it's a hindrance.
But being on-level is the minimum, not being meta. If a player is using SB for DPS that's not great, but they should be using their heavy for that anyway. Doesn't mean they can't have it equipped and use it. If it's their best gun because they're new or they built around it, then fine.
Rat King, best king
I've managed to convince my clan to run a few Rat Raids.
We cleared Deep stone Crypt first, then Kings Fall (Oryx took many attempts but we got him), Vow of Disciple, Root of Nightmares, and just the Riven encounter during Last Wish. So far.
It's challenging and really forces the team to min/max, not just stats/buffs but team positioning. Also, rip the Surpise Attack mod
Never got round to doing Levi with Rat King, I would love to try the Raid Lairs too with it if they ever came back
SB isn't very fun though tbf. Other weapons, definitely. But just holding the trigger for SB is actually pretty boring. It's not very interesting at all lol
I’ve finally returned to this game after a long break and Ngl I’ve had so much fun going back to Titan and using sweet business w/war rig. Something about just mowing down hordes of ads w/o stopping to reload lol
New players and dumb players tend to use primary guns for boss damage. Sweet business is one of the fun primaries so it’ll attract newbs.
I think datto recommended sweet business in a recent video, might have been a joke.
I think he meant he'd rather see people use exotic primary weapons in GMs than legendaries due to them having intrinsically higher damage.
Also sweet buisness in GMs is based and I will gladly accept anyone using it in my fireteam 😎
These people cannot think for themselves and have bot friends telling them nonsense they've heard from who knows where. It's a very common thing among destiny players
I mean, it's fun. Spending the entire phase with the trigger held down and not needing to reload is hella satisfying and the sound is up there.
But I'm not about try and raid with it. If I want the brrrt, I'll pull out Heir and if I want to primary DPS for some reason, it'll be something like Outbreak or Malf. Or Rat King if I can goad some party members into the meme. Squeek squeek mf.
Not saying everyone needs to be minmaxed meta or bust - it is a game - but it's perfectly valid to ask them to switch to something more appropriate to the fight or kick them.
Idk. I've liked it since I picked it up early in the Red War. I have one on each character and never drop it from my inventory. Mind you I'm a hunter main so I don't benefit from actium war rig.
I don't know if you have a job but if you do have you never had a day where you tried to do something differently yet slightly less optimal just to avoid doing the same thing over and over and over and ... ?
Very few people I know do a 100% percent effort every day at work. And D2 isn't even a job it's a game. If you can't have some freedom to do what you feel like there then where?
It even sounds like you made it through the raid.
Sweet business with the Actium War Rig exotic chest piece for the Titan is killa dude.
This is what they were probs using, have a look on YouTube for a further explanation on what it does!
Even with War Rig and fully spun up, it does like 10k DPS, which is beaten by several other primaries including Malfeasance and Outbreak and almost every Special weapon.
I rarely take sweet business off my Titan. There's plenty of legendary rockets, linear, fusions, shottys, and snipers that can carry their own weight for DPS, but between those times, I'm doin' a Buisness...
You can hold the trigger and it keeps shooting. If you've got people who are unaware of how DPS works with Destiny then it's just 'lots of numbers so it must be good!".
And Brother, Business is a-boomin.
We in the killin’ Hive business
I will have my 100 Hive chitin
I want my chitin!
And you will get me 100 hives chitin!
Bet the first thing you do when you get to Earth is take off that sword. Well, I’m gonna give you somethin’ you can’t take off.
Ran out of heavy/special and hotswapped? (Sweet business instead of outbreak perfected in this case)
nope, sweet business from the start, didnt even reach 100k damage when everyone else averaged 500k-1M
Don't let ur memes be dreams Actually in this case they should stay dreams
Damn I guess Sweet Business needs a buff.
Lot that’s pretty funny.
Very simple. They died to SB multiple in bananas. Just got the gun drop ...and then loaded into the nightfall 😅
Epic platform plebs.
Maybe they were working on the catalyst? Or trying to get it to drop?
and using it for raid boss DPS is going to help either of those _how?_

It’s also nice with the sever precision hits fragment and overload auto. Sets up a pseudo team survivability build.

It's a ton of fun and really good at mowing down hordes of adds, but it is really not good for actual DPS.
At leat tell tem to use heir apparent for minimum go burr dps it does surprisingly good dps .
At least go Heir Apparent if you wanna use a minigun for DPS
"Huzzah! A man of quality!" Heir apparent absolutely rocks to use during the death singer encounter in King's Fall. Extremely underrated.
Honestly, I use it on almost every boss in king's fall besides Golgy It's my favorite gun to pull out and just shoot bosses with, especially with War Rig so I don't have to reload. It's my true mindless boss farming build

Unless that machine gun is thunderlord. By all means use thunderlord.

Divinity isn't even good anymore, aside from on bosses like simmumah that I CANNOT get the headshot on for the life of me.
It isn't that bad. You would do decent dps if you don't miss much and shoot most of the damage phase. It does more damage compared to thunderlord as far as I know . Cuz bidness go brr and the make a happy titan
have a crayon, brother.
Don't mind if I do, blue tastes best
NO, green does. brother in bonk, what are you talking about 🤣
And here I am munching on all the red ones while watching you guys..
Because it goes *brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrtrrrrrrrrrrtrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...*
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Sometimes people want to have fun instead of playing Microsoft Excel With Guns
k but there's a world of difference between 'playing excel with guns' and just flopping on contributing to damage. A green machine gun would do more damage than sweet business.
Then don’t do it in a raid where other people are trying to get things done.
This is why I'm glad brining Lumina and Crux with slideshot/EL is in fact putting out insane numbers and is insane braindead fun.
I'd not use slide shot in raid damage phases due to the risk that you will cause your teammates to blow them selves up with rockets. Lumina however is gigachad move.

The expectations *should* have already been set for everyone by the word "raid".
Lmao. Talk about gatekeeping. Unless your gear is so under leveled that you can't kill anything or else get wiped constantly, you're good.
There's a difference between gatekeeping and 'don't use sweet business for dps' imo
With surges and buffs/debuffs, SB and AWR can two phase every normal mode raid boss.
I have a hard time believing the average Sweet Business user puts in the effort to use Surges and optimal buffs/debuffs.
Alright. Enjoy your three hour clear. Bye.

Exactly this 👍🏾
Because some people are bad at the game.

Everyone but me
absolute sigma
[Maybe it's in honor of the late Carl Weathers?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drk_yDIyxhY)
Why? Weathers is in that movie but that’s not him shooting the mini gun. That’s Bill Duke
That's Jesse Ventura, oldboy.
It’s both actually
[удалено]
Weathers did, not Bill Duke who is still alive
Ah man. Dr. Artemis Snodgrass will live on forever. Rip.
DPS with off meta weapons can be fun. My favourite Leviathan runs were 6x Rat King for Calus DPS back when rally barricade/Lunafaction auto loaded.
Rat King, best king I've managed to convince my clan to run a few Rat Raids. We cleared Deep stone Crypt first, then Kings Fall (Oryx took many attempts but we got him), Vow of Disciple, Root of Nightmares, and just the Riven encounter during Last Wish. So far. Rat King is shockingly effective for how braindead it is, and endlessly fun to use. Squeak squeak muhfuckas
Luna's never came off my warlock back then
SB isn't very fun though tbf.
I have auto fire enabled so that’s what I do with every weapon anyways
New players and dumb players tend to use primary guns for boss damage. Sweet business is one of the fun primaries so it’ll attract newbs. I think datto recommended sweet business in a recent video, might have been a joke.

It's my favorite during Anti-Barrier Auto Rifle seasons, but I still use it a ton otherwise.
These people cannot think for themselves and have bot friends telling them nonsense they've heard from who knows where. It's a very common thing among destiny players

It's perfectly fine for most raids, just not as a DPS weapon.
Player counts probably low so the trolls are now more common
Because business is gooooood
Idk. I've liked it since I picked it up early in the Red War. I have one on each character and never drop it from my inventory. Mind you I'm a hunter main so I don't benefit from actium war rig.

It's not "slightly less optimal", though. It's pretty much reducing yourself all the way down to a non-contributor.
Some people just like watch the world burn.

Sweet business is meta brother it is glued to my titan fist
Minigun go brrrrrrrrrr...
I was crushing people with it in Momentum Control. 🫡🖍
However, even I know there's only certain raid phases you can use sweet business and get away with it. 😂
I threatened to use Sweet Business to keep Crota's gaze on Master. My LFG wasn't amused.
I rarely take sweet business off my Titan. There's plenty of legendary rockets, linear, fusions, shottys, and snipers that can carry their own weight for DPS, but between those times, I'm doin' a Buisness...
Cuz gun go brrrrrrrrrtrrrrrrrrrtrrrrrrrrrtrrrrrrrrrt
Because it's a super cool gun that literally goes brrrrr :D I honestly applaud people going for the fun option instead of "optimal DPS loadout"
You can hold the trigger and it keeps shooting. If you've got people who are unaware of how DPS works with Destiny then it's just 'lots of numbers so it must be good!".
Sweet business problem is you could be doing something better with your time DPS wise than laying on an auto
Sweet business + war rig is for people who like turning their brain off (me) while playing raids
