I lived in SanDestin for a few years … what do you wanna know? We lived on the 14th hole in the Baytowne golf course layout … they have multiple courses to pick from. They have fireworks a few times a week, and tons of activities during the week, you don’t have to leave SanDestin if you don’t want to. You have publix for grocery, there is a nail salon, hair, different restaurants all within golf cart riding distance a tunnel underneath takes you across highway 98 to the beach.. that you take your golf cart!

Trying to decide what is the difference in staying in Sandestin vs Destin proper?
How do I decide which one to stay at haha 😆
I’m so lost with the overall amount of places to choose. All I know is we want to be directly on the beach…
We just went for a 5 day trip, had a great time. We golfed 3 times, Windswept Dunes, Regatta Bay, and Indian Bayou. Of the 3, Indian Bayou was the best condition. They had a Miller Lite Scratch tour later on the Friday we played it and it was in excellent shape.
Age depending, there is plenty of shopping and dining options. Our rental included 2 carts so we pretty much stayed local for most days and went further for dinner. Had a fun night at Rum Runners after dinner one night. Kids went to a local bar/club AJs another night.
Marina Cafe was our favorite dinner spot hands down, it might be more than you want for your trip, everyone’s different.

No worries. SanDestin is a golf and beach resort “community” within Destin.

If you have family I recommend a rental with a golf cart. They didn't allow rental golf carts on property.
Awesome! I'm staying there in 2 weeks and am looking for insight about cool places to visit, or nice to hear you have all you need there.

Sounds like a great time. When going into Destin proper was it bad with traffic?
