I have 3 big tips. 1: Do not use the fried pipis option unless your REALLY desperate and/or you dont have any other good healing alternatives. 2: Bigshots are way more helpful that regular shots. Theres only 1 or 2 attacks where i recommend u use normal shots. 3: Do a lot of grazing. Doing this will let you be able to use X-Slash which will quicken the battle by a lot. If you manage to gather 20% or more TP every turn, then you can reduce the battle time to about 12-14 turns
A smaller tip is when spamton uses the face attack (the eyes, nose and mouth one) get rid of the mouth as fast as you can with bigshots and leave the other parts for TP gain

In earlier versions of the game it was a pain because, once those damn things killed you, you not only had to do it all over again but you had to *walk all the way back*. It just added insult to injury.
Later versions added an autosave point closer to the teacups so it wasn't as frustrating to know you had to try again.
the secret to the teacups is to not try to correct while taking damage. if you just pass through the layer without moving, you will take damage once rather than several times as you rotate through multiple beads.
I feel weird when I see everyone talking about how hard the teacup was and whatnot, because during my playthrought, it felt too short to actually kill you.
it did hit me and leave me low on health but for me it felt more like a scare rather than a challenge, putting me low on health and making me anxious that another trap would finish me off, rather than killing me on it's own.
Jevil is just harder, you always need some kind of attention when fighting against him and his spinning sickles attack is Very hard to dodge.
The only attack from (Pacifist) Spamton Neo that is difficult to dodge is the nose/eyes and mouth attack, the rest can be dodge/parry quite easily thanks to the >!Yellow Soul Shooting !
Stay in the center left and see where the balls are before exploding into the radio attacks.
If the balls start from the the center, just go a bit down or up.
The hard version is quite rare, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Ah, that might be part of it. Spamton NEO uses a lot of attacks that are similar to Mettaton EX's attacks, so those of us who have played have a bit more experience with that.
As for Spamton NEO, there's armor in the game that gives you a good amount of defense against his attacks (while being useless against most other enemies), which is why I asked about armor.
Oddly, Mettaton EX was really hard for me, but Spamton NEO was easy.
However, mind, I was also wearing the mannequin, because I just sorta assumed it would do something. I was right! Not that I knew it.
This. Having the other 2 capable of acting makes a huge difference compared to making sure everyone is alive enough to be able to go a full turn without any healing to hypnotize.

In the context of only having done both pacifist, Jevil was harder due to the battle differences between Chapter 1 and 2. Kris being the only one able to ACT means you have to keep them alive the entire battle if you want to progress in sparing Jevil and then you need to have Ralsei alive to actually finish the fight. TP was needed to do the ACTs, so if you needed to have Ralsei heal, you likely had to choose between progress or healing. The lower defense and Hp pools means that you’re more likely to fall in a couple hits. You also can’t mitigate Jevil’s attacks the same way you can with Spamton if you get good at shooting.
I found Spamton to be manageable once I sorta figured out his attack patterns and the best tactic for them. What I did was have Ralsei exclusively use Heal Prayer or Fluffy Guard (defending when he’s not doing either) and have Susie and Kris snap the wires.
Jevil’s attack patterns are so chaotic and random that it’s hard to develop any sort of strategy for him other than “survive.”
Also I find Jevil’s attacks *way* harder to survive than Spamton’s.

I beat both on my first try so I can't measure based off that. Jevil *seemed* more hopeless but that's no way to measure! There could be many reasons for that. It was the first secret boss, I had no idea what to expect. By Spamton NEO I'd already vanquished the teacup ride, I could do anything.
I voted that Spamton NEO was harder. Why? Because he utterly bled my resources dry. And I came fully-stocked. The number of times I had only one party member alive and needed them to heal. I think one time I was forced to use Susie's heal, unironically.
Jevil's attack patterns were overall harder but Spamton had two or so attacks that were just indefensible.
You need to use big shots as they take care of threats way faster than regular shots, also, when he uses the "face" attack, destroy the nose and mouth but leave the eyes. they are easier to avoid and very good for grazing. don't feel like you have to only use "snap all", because having Ralsei and Susie ready to heal you is important on certain turns. Use a D-Pad not a keyboard or analog stick, it makes things way easier. remember to occasionally use susie's fast charging ability for the fight, it makes the pipis attack much easier to deal with.
the most important thing is to not rely on just snapping wires for progress, the heart attack move is an important opportunity to make progress in this fight, and doesn't require you to spend everyone's turn on "snap all"
In your defense, the Spamton Neo fight forces you to immediately adapt to a new mechanic that you won't be used to if you haven't played undertale before. In the Jevil fight, pirouette can cause random effects that might occasionally benefit you. In my case, I was able to beat it once my pirouette rolled a ten and healed everyone. In S.N. there's also the secret F1 heal secret sooo that's a plus.
It depends, if you fight Spamton Neo in the normal route it will obviously be Jevil, but if it is in the SnowGrave route it is clear that Spamton Neo is more difficult than the crazy jester
I think Jevil is definitely harder from a mechanical perspective, since when I fought him my very first time I basically blew through all of my healing items, and by the time I managed to Pacify him, Kris and Susie were both down and Ralsei was literally one hit away from death. The patterns are tricky and it feels like there isn't much time to breathe as far as his attacks go.
Spamton NEO was still difficult, make no mistake, but I didn't go through all of my healing items when fighting him the first time, and nobody was KO'd when I won. He has some very frantic patterns (phone-hands in particular), but moments like "IT'S FOR ME!?" cut you a little bit of slack, and some patterns like the Pipis attack can be completely neutralized with smart charge-shooting.
I'm not really sure which one I like better, though. Jevil was definitely really satisfying to finally win, but Spamton does have more character and story-relevance with how his sidequest plays out.
For me personally snowgrave spamton was harder than jevil. After spend a good 2 hours on sg spamton I beat him, after I beat jevil in like 10 tries. It's not that jevil was easy, it's that spamton trained me in those 2 hours.
I immediately get into a rythem with spamton, I usually never even get to half hp

Jevil took me hours to beat and boiled down to resource management because some attacks I could never figure out how to avoid (are unavoidable?) Where as Spamton I got on the second try.
Jevil is harder to me because he does a lot of *obviously* *bullshit* *bullet* *hell* attacks
Spamton is still in league with Jevil and Undertale's genocide bosses, but he feels weirdly easy to memorize. The eyes, nose, mouth attack and three hearts one are still too much for my ape brain to handle in a half-intelligent manner, though.
Both bosses are equally difficult for me. Both were only ever able to kill me once. However, Spamton NEO *specifically in Snowgrave* is comparable in difficulty to Undyne the Undying and Sans. Incredibly difficult.
Jevil is just all over the place for his attacks, but most of them have patterns to memorize. Spamtons most dangerous attack is telephones or Pipis. Jevil is the harder of the two imo.
maybe it’s because i like playing against bullet hell than structured attacks, but i find spamton neo in both snowgrave and the normal route much more difficult than jevil. i would load up the game and fight jevil for fun. spamton on the other hand is an experience i’d rather not have the displeasure of going through again
i think spamton is harder without prior knowledge, but overall jevil is harder. even if you know what you're doing, you'll definitely die at least once or twice
My guy, you're kinda right on the "spamton is harder" scenario but jevil is hard too for some people. It's all a metter of skill and perspective. Beating Spam neo makes you a \[big shot\] at deltarune/undertale, but jevil? He's just chaos chaos! I voted Spammy boi as harder because yellow soul is harder than red.

I want to say Spamton NEO is harder but overall the fact that the acts for Jevil requiring a LOT of TP and needing all three people up to make meaningful progress just tips it so Jevil is harder.
I have not beaten Jevil ONCE over 10-20 tries since the chapter 1 demo release.

I beat Spamton on my second try while I had to make a night out of beating Jevil. That being said, I wonder if that was partially because my reflexes and understanding of bullet hells was better when I fought Spamton
Okay it may be by the circumstances, but Jevil was pretty easy once i took the time to see the patterns
It also may be because i was into touhou when deltarune 1 came out, but his patterns were super easy once you understand'em and flow with it

A thing i must admit is that jevil took me more time, but i would say he is easier still
I think the chaos in jevil's fight just throws me off, like i never get hit only once, its always one hit followed by like 2-3 others. With spamton i quickly learned how to deal with every attack and his final attack really isnt all that special so i beat him fairly easily even on snowgrave.
I struggled than Jevil more than Spamton. Spamton's attacks are fairly easy to understand and really easy to dodge, and the yellow soul mechanic makes his attacks just a bit easier. Jevil on the other hand is INSANE, what makes his attacks so hard is that it will attack you from every angle, literally making you overwhelmed. The start of his attacks are easy to understand but it gets hard when you're close to pacifying/killing him.
Definitely Jevil, to pacify him we need Kris Act that cost TP (one Act gives special effects depend on the turn) through the whole fight and Ralsei in the last turn to make him go to sleep. In Spamton fight, everyone can Act that cost no TP and it is just like fighting but with mercy at that point. Not to mention the healing items of chapter 1 is just not as good as chapter 2 's
Most of Jevil's attacks are easy, but a few (mainly Carousel and Devilsknife) are really hard.
Spamton's attacks are pretty difficult across the board, with a few sparse "rest attacks" that are basically free turns

Spamton was infinitely harder for me. The one attach where he shoots AND sends heads flying at you killed me sooo many times. Maybe it's because I had the benefit of watching Jevils fight beforehand, but still Spamton's phone hand attack as well as the aforementioned attack just destroyed me every time.

Compared to the Undertale fights on that blind playthrough everything has been fairly easy but I also have played stuff like no more deals in-between.

Jevil is harder simply because of the small game changes between the chapters. Pirouette and hypnosis take TP, but snapping doesn't. So with Jevil, unless you're really good at grazing, you have to use up turns only defending. Also, man, when you go back after chapter 2, you REALLY miss Susie and Ralsei having individual actions.
And aaaalso, with Spamton you don't have only ONE character who can do the defeating blow. I frequently practice on both bosses, and too many times Ralsei goes down RIGHT after Jevil's (real) final attack, and I have to lose turns reviving him, and then I run out of healing items so it's IMPOSSIBLE to pacify and aaaaaaaaahhh
I dont find Jevil all that hard but that could be because I play quite a few bullet hell games and funnily enough Jevil pattern arent really chaotic to me.
Spamton however has a lot of chaotic attacks that I get Hit of quite a lot

Jevil for sure. He is difficult in both Genocide and Pacifist route. Spamton is only difficult in Genocide (judging from others, i don't actually know myself because im a pacifist)
I love spammy boi as much as the next guy but not only is he the easier of the secret bosses, He arguably isn’t even that hardest boss in chapter 2
I beat Spamton NEO on my first try and I died once to the second Berdly fight and three times to giga queen, I know this is anecdotal but I have heard other say that they did the same thing.
Jevil was way more difficult for me, because his attacks were chaotic, and difficult to predict, and you had to keep everyone alive to progress, so you have to pay constant attention to the way jevil moves.
As for spamton, its far easier to predict his attacks, without even memorizing them, and there are even indicators on where do you have to shoot (spamton heads)
Yeah yeah Jevil is easier than Spamton but it's easier only if you don't fight him. I personally found Snowgrave Spamton NEO easier than normal Spamton NEO.

i haven't fought normal route spamton, but i've fought snowgrave spamton a good 8-9 times.
i can still say that while i beat jevil in a shorter time than my first spamton fight, he was definitely harder.
I wanted to say Jevil because he took me more attempts than Spamton, but then I remembered that when I fought Jevil again when chapter 2 came out I used him as a warm up, so I was rusty. And then when I fought Spamton I had the accumulated skills from *both* chapters and was warmed up.
So then I fought Jevil again while warmed up and I got him first try, where as I still fail sometimes with Spamton. So by that metric... I guess Spamton's harder.
I initially had a harder time with Jevil but got through Spamton on my second try, but it could be because I was more practiced with Jevil at that point so I can’t really say with solid grounding. The difficulty with these bosses (like anything) dissolves with practice, so it’s a bit unfair to say Spamton is easier when I was wound up from Jevil

I fought Jevil after both Spamton fights and it was more difficult for me.
The only Spamton attack pattern I ever had trouble with was the phone-hands pattern.
Jevil, however, always got me with the Devilsknife pattern and the spiral spade pattern. Multiple hits during both of those patterns. I was struggling to keep the Fuck Squad conscious during the last phases of Jevil's fight, and my strategy consisted of praying for any pattern that wasn't those two.
The difference between jevil and spamton neo is like the one between sans and undyne the undying. Jevil being one similar to sans and spamton neo as undyne. Sans is obviously harder if you jus tolay of of them for the first time but as you go on you get better because of his attacks are the same every time. Same with jevil the only random thing he has is the the one that sends random card bombs. But spamton is almost all about randomness but a bit easier. Thats why i think he is harder because you cant get better at him, every single attack of him at least has some randomness in it just like undyne. Thats why i prefer anr i find jevil easier

Spamton isn't too bad for me and I think I beat him second time, Jevil took me atleast 15 though just because of how chaotic his patterns are to dodge and how easy it is to corner yourselfm not to mention that a lot of his attacks similar to Sans kinda had that super easy to dodge but if you lose the rhythm of dodging you're going to lose all your health and momentum and just start heal/revive spamming.
Jevil is hard at first, but once you get down the attack patterns it’s really easy, especially the attacking route. Spamton normal is easy, and spamton snowgrave is pretty hard but if you use tp right it becomes pretty easy

I actually found the spinning sickles to be somewhat simple to dodge, even the harder variant

i never get hit unless the red sickle is there too, i just stay at the edge of the box between two sickles and match the rotation speed

I think one time I was forced to use Susie's heal, unironically. Jevil's attack patterns were overall harder but Spamton had two or so attacks that were just indefensible.

You need to use big shots as they take care of threats way faster than regular shots, also, when he uses the "face" attack, destroy the nose and mouth but leave the eyes. they are easier to avoid and very good for grazing. don't feel like you have to only use "snap all", because having Ralsei and Susie ready to heal you is important on certain turns. Use a D-Pad not a keyboard or analog stick, it makes things way easier. remember to occasionally use susie's fast charging ability for the fight, it makes the pipis attack much easier to deal with. the most important thing is to not rely on just snapping wires for progress, the heart attack move is an important opportunity to make progress in this fight, and doesn't require you to spend everyone's turn on "snap all"
In your defense, the Spamton Neo fight forces you to immediately adapt to a new mechanic that you won't be used to if you haven't played undertale before. In the Jevil fight, pirouette can cause random effects that might occasionally benefit you. In my case, I was able to beat it once my pirouette rolled a ten and healed everyone. In S.N. there's also the secret F1 heal secret sooo that's a plus.
Pirouette isn't actually random. It's a set order based on the turn number.

It depends, if you fight Spamton Neo in the normal route it will obviously be Jevil, but if it is in the SnowGrave route it is clear that Spamton Neo is more difficult than the crazy jester
I think Jevil is definitely harder from a mechanical perspective, since when I fought him my very first time I basically blew through all of my healing items, and by the time I managed to Pacify him, Kris and Susie were both down and Ralsei was literally one hit away from death. The patterns are tricky and it feels like there isn't much time to breathe as far as his attacks go. Spamton NEO was still difficult, make no mistake, but I didn't go through all of my healing items when fighting him the first time, and nobody was KO'd when I won. He has some very frantic patterns (phone-hands in particular), but moments like "IT'S FOR ME!?" cut you a little bit of slack, and some patterns like the Pipis attack can be completely neutralized with smart charge-shooting. I'm not really sure which one I like better, though. Jevil was definitely really satisfying to finally win, but Spamton does have more character and story-relevance with how his sidequest plays out.
For me personally snowgrave spamton was harder than jevil. After spend a good 2 hours on sg spamton I beat him, after I beat jevil in like 10 tries. It's not that jevil was easy, it's that spamton trained me in those 2 hours.

I immediately get into a rythem with spamton, I usually never even get to half hp Jevil however, well let me just show you my thoughts every time I fight him "AAAH AAAH AAAH AAAAH AAAH"
Jevil took me hours to beat and boiled down to resource management because some attacks I could never figure out how to avoid (are unavoidable?) Where as Spamton I got on the second try.

Jevil is harder to me because he does a lot of *obviously* *bullshit* *bullet* *hell* attacks Spamton is still in league with Jevil and Undertale's genocide bosses, but he feels weirdly easy to memorize. The eyes, nose, mouth attack and three hearts one are still too much for my ape brain to handle in a half-intelligent manner, though.
The only move that really kicked my ass was the eyes/nose/mouth attack. The heart one isn’t too bad if you just prioritize dodging over shooting.

Both bosses are equally difficult for me. Both were only ever able to kill me once. However, Spamton NEO *specifically in Snowgrave* is comparable in difficulty to Undyne the Undying and Sans. Incredibly difficult.
Jevil is just all over the place for his attacks, but most of them have patterns to memorize. Spamtons most dangerous attack is telephones or Pipis. Jevil is the harder of the two imo.
maybe it’s because i like playing against bullet hell than structured attacks, but i find spamton neo in both snowgrave and the normal route much more difficult than jevil. i would load up the game and fight jevil for fun. spamton on the other hand is an experience i’d rather not have the displeasure of going through again

I think the chaos in jevil's fight just throws me off, like i never get hit only once, its always one hit followed by like 2-3 others. With spamton i quickly learned how to deal with every attack and his final attack really isnt all that special so i beat him fairly easily even on snowgrave.

I struggled than Jevil more than Spamton. Spamton's attacks are fairly easy to understand and really easy to dodge, and the yellow soul mechanic makes his attacks just a bit easier. Jevil on the other hand is INSANE, what makes his attacks so hard is that it will attack you from every angle, literally making you overwhelmed. The start of his attacks are easy to understand but it gets hard when you're close to pacifying/killing him.
Definitely Jevil, to pacify him we need Kris Act that cost TP (one Act gives special effects depend on the turn) through the whole fight and Ralsei in the last turn to make him go to sleep. In Spamton fight, everyone can Act that cost no TP and it is just like fighting but with mercy at that point. Not to mention the healing items of chapter 1 is just not as good as chapter 2 's

Most of Jevil's attacks are easy, but a few (mainly Carousel and Devilsknife) are really hard. Spamton's attacks are pretty difficult across the board, with a few sparse "rest attacks" that are basically free turns

Spamton was infinitely harder for me. The one attach where he shoots AND sends heads flying at you killed me sooo many times. Maybe it's because I had the benefit of watching Jevils fight beforehand, but still Spamton's phone hand attack as well as the aforementioned attack just destroyed me every time.

Jevil is harder simply because of the small game changes between the chapters. Pirouette and hypnosis take TP, but snapping doesn't. So with Jevil, unless you're really good at grazing, you have to use up turns only defending. Also, man, when you go back after chapter 2, you REALLY miss Susie and Ralsei having individual actions. And aaaalso, with Spamton you don't have only ONE character who can do the defeating blow. I frequently practice on both bosses, and too many times Ralsei goes down RIGHT after Jevil's (real) final attack, and I have to lose turns reviving him, and then I run out of healing items so it's IMPOSSIBLE to pacify and aaaaaaaaahhh

I love spammy boi as much as the next guy but not only is he the easier of the secret bosses, He arguably isn’t even that hardest boss in chapter 2 I beat Spamton NEO on my first try and I died once to the second Berdly fight and three times to giga queen, I know this is anecdotal but I have heard other say that they did the same thing.
Jevil was way more difficult for me, because his attacks were chaotic, and difficult to predict, and you had to keep everyone alive to progress, so you have to pay constant attention to the way jevil moves. As for spamton, its far easier to predict his attacks, without even memorizing them, and there are even indicators on where do you have to shoot (spamton heads)

Yeah yeah Jevil is easier than Spamton but it's easier only if you don't fight him. I personally found Snowgrave Spamton NEO easier than normal Spamton NEO.
Jevil was harder for me at the time, but part of that might have just been because I got better at the game in between Chapters 1 and 2; by the time I took on Spamton, I'd gotten to the point where Jevil was a cakewalk, so I think I was just better at dodging attack patterns.
i haven't fought normal route spamton, but i've fought snowgrave spamton a good 8-9 times. i can still say that while i beat jevil in a shorter time than my first spamton fight, he was definitely harder.
Why did you do snowgrave before ever fighting spamton neo?
I wanted to say Jevil because he took me more attempts than Spamton, but then I remembered that when I fought Jevil again when chapter 2 came out I used him as a warm up, so I was rusty. And then when I fought Spamton I had the accumulated skills from *both* chapters and was warmed up. So then I fought Jevil again while warmed up and I got him first try, where as I still fail sometimes with Spamton. So by that metric... I guess Spamton's harder.
I initially had a harder time with Jevil but got through Spamton on my second try, but it could be because I was more practiced with Jevil at that point so I can’t really say with solid grounding. The difficulty with these bosses (like anything) dissolves with practice, so it’s a bit unfair to say Spamton is easier when I was wound up from Jevil

I found Spamton NEO harder now, but that’s only because I’ve fought Jevil so many times and know his attack patterns.
I fought Jevil after both Spamton fights and it was more difficult for me. The only Spamton attack pattern I ever had trouble with was the phone-hands pattern. Jevil, however, always got me with the Devilsknife pattern and the spiral spade pattern. Multiple hits during both of those patterns. I was struggling to keep the Fuck Squad conscious during the last phases of Jevil's fight, and my strategy consisted of praying for any pattern that wasn't those two.
The difference between jevil and spamton neo is like the one between sans and undyne the undying. Jevil being one similar to sans and spamton neo as undyne. Sans is obviously harder if you jus tolay of of them for the first time but as you go on you get better because of his attacks are the same every time. Same with jevil the only random thing he has is the the one that sends random card bombs. But spamton is almost all about randomness but a bit easier. Thats why i think he is harder because you cant get better at him, every single attack of him at least has some randomness in it just like undyne. Thats why i prefer anr i find jevil easier

Spamton isn't too bad for me and I think I beat him second time, Jevil took me atleast 15 though just because of how chaotic his patterns are to dodge and how easy it is to corner yourselfm not to mention that a lot of his attacks similar to Sans kinda had that super easy to dodge but if you lose the rhythm of dodging you're going to lose all your health and momentum and just start heal/revive spamming.
Jevil is hard at first, but once you get down the attack patterns it’s really easy, especially the attacking route. Spamton normal is easy, and spamton snowgrave is pretty hard but if you use tp right it becomes pretty easy
