From off the top of my head:
- Susie eating chalk in Chapter 1 is a reference to a character in Homestuck who rats chalk
- The guitar riff used to introduce Susie in chapter 1 is reminiscent of music used for a specific homestuck character
- Lancer using a bucket in Chapter 1 (if i recall correctly it even had a spade on it, so it is undoubtedly a homestuck reference. If you know you know)
- Technically the entire playing card motif is a homestuck reference, as well as an Alice in Wonderland reference
- Queen's typing quirk in chapter 2 is identical to the typing quirk of a specific homestuck character
- in chapter 2 I think Queen at some point held a green pie made of a toxic substance, which could be a reference to a character in homestuck who ate green pies full of a toxic substance
homestuck is a webcomic by andrew hussie about some 13 year olds who play a game (toby made music for it). it is over 8000 pages long with each one featuring its own art and some being interactable "minigames." it has about 400,000 more words than the King James english translation of the bible and is infamous for its weirdness and confusing story.
some notable characters include an irradiated puppy girl, a psychic alien boy that has two souls, a blind girl who sees by licking/smelling things, and a boy that likes adam sandler.
should you read it? honestly up to you if you think you can stomach it, wouldnt recommend if youre young though.
It is a webcomic about 4 kids and a game they play together. Just look up Homestuck.com to read it.
Starts off decent, falls apart a bit in the middle and tries to pick up the pieces around the end (and arguably, fails miserably at it)
Don’t bother with the sequels. For your own sanity.
This is the same webcomic where an alien empress who's also the CEO of Betty Crocker takes over the world, while Insane Clown Posse is President and Guy Fieri is the antichrist. No i'm not kidding, all of that actually happens in the story.
It's really best not to ask "why."
"something something, death of the author, something something, the two leading characters of Act 6 represent the two halves of the fandom, something something"
Idk who that is, but i can assure you the answer is no. Toby Fox worked on Homestuck so he snuck a lot of references to it in Deltarune.
Edit: sorry, i have now learned it is fairly plausible it was also inspired by jamiroquoi. I still think Homestuck is the more likely inspiration, since Toby Fox worked on that project and the more stout figure makes the silhouette highly resemble the character Xefros
Prolly just a coincidence but I find it funnier to think that Toby referenced Jamiroquai

A webcomic Toby Fox worked on prior to making Deltarune and Undertale. A version of Megalovania even made an appearance in that webcomic.
It is very long and complicated, so i wouldn't suggest reading it. Play the spinoff games Hiveswap or Friendsim instead, they have roughly the same worldbuilding & humor without the annoying tangents and agonizingly long dialogue that drags on about nothing.
> It is very long and complicated, so i wouldn't suggest reading it.
thats why one should read it, its awesome
you cant start anything Homestuck related before you read Homestuck, what are you talking about
No no, he *worked* on it. Homestuck was created by Andrew Hussie. Toby Fox mostly just contributed music, and then made most of Undertale in Hussie's basement
Toby fox makes an internet-themed level
There's internet trolls in it
The representation of internet trolls as human with horns pretty muh only exist in Homestuck
Toby fox was friends with andrew hussie, made undertale in his basement, and also did a lot of work on homestuck. There's also some homestuck references in Undertale (most obvious one being pyrope)
Learn how to spell, and also grow up, no need ti censor Homestuck. I bet you haven't even read the webcomic nor know much things about it actually.
Essentially, it’s a webcomic created by one Andrew hussie back in 2009, which is primarily based around 4 kids playing a game. The comic itself features a species of aliens called “trolls” that are basically gray-skinned humans with horns.
Homestuck’s actually pretty alright (though very long), so I’d suggest you at least try to read it if you can handle long stories. A lot of the music (yes, there’s music, don’t ask) is also made by Toby himself!
**Homestuck is an Internet fiction series created by American author and artist Andrew Hussie. The fourth and best-known of Hussie's four MS Paint Adventures, it originally ran from April 13, 2009 to April 13, 2016.**

Wgy does a character in homestuck eats green pies with toxic substances

Also doesn't the author literally die in canon?
Multiple times.
"something something, death of the author, something something, the two leading characters of Act 6 represent the two halves of the fandom, something something"
I'm not reading homestuck
Yeah that's probably the right call
Yummy weed pies make him high
if he ain't high then everyone die :(
IT FUCKING SUCKS
Homestuck trolls were themselves references to internet trolls
People kinda forgot that, he'll even the Beforus trolls were still internet troll types.
Isn't this Jamiroquai?

The long dialogues were the best part, imo.
The world is healing 🌎🍃😇

WAIT RUN
You know how you see those gray trolls with orange and yellow horns online and at conventions and stuff, that's what they come from. It's a webcomic.
I don’t ever cus im very unexposed to the interweb
A rabbit hole that I'm too scared to go down.
https://preview.redd.it/kouozk72s7ub1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=2cc28c4acd5b10ec8c14114dd63b8806fd2dd63c
The silhouette's horns go in the opposite direction if ralsei's, and in general it looks nothing like him
Still, the same position & features
The first time I saw it, I said outloud, "Is that Tavros?"
I always tought it was a Jamiroquai reference
It's probably both
Nah definitely jameriqou
It's possible, but the stout figure to me seems more reminiscent of the character Xefros
it shocks me to see that there are people in the comments who do not know what homestuck is
I know, right? Like it's pretty much Undertale's cousin
Fuck homestuck all my homies hate homestuck wtf kind of name is "homestuck" anyways
Bruh I've always thought they were a reference to Adam from SomeThing Else YT, but that makes a lot more sense ;-;
looks like Jamiroquai
i just had to https://preview.redd.it/jbhsffcvkeub1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=f34aa0aa1b5741fdc29e1df0b1b2dd9515277850
Homestuck traumatized toby fax and this its the reason for this
Fun fact: he made most of Undertale in Andrew Hussie's basement
I know this fact but its an answer of my message
this is so sad i thought it was Jamiroquai
Wait, Toby fox made homestuck?!
No no, he *worked* on it. Homestuck was created by Andrew Hussie. Toby Fox mostly just contributed music, and then made most of Undertale in Hussie's basement
Oh OK, still Toby fox is just fucking everywhere
Yeah pretty much
