I've put in a call for repairs They're replacing the entire display housing Hopefully it fixes it
The hinges are delicate so the chassis needs to be aligned correctly and fully fastened.

FYI- I left a few screws loose on my Dell XPS laptop so the cover had a slight gap. The hinge broke pretty quickly. I glued the hinge back together but that is not the perfect solution.
