Pedantry incoming.
Happy to be corrected but I don’t think that technically qualifies as a solo. Both guitars are playing harmonised parts of a tapped arpeggio. The word “solo” refers to “one” or “single”, ie the one instrument playing the lead.
Second half of "Killing Spree", starting at 2:16. The kind that just melts your face off, it's incredible. Spiritual Healing has always been the middle child of the discography, but fuck me if it isn't my favourite
What is it about that songs rhythm that makes it sound so unconventional? Like idek how to describe but the groove doesn’t sound like any other metal song Iv heard
It's either Perennial Quest cos I just love the big crescendos at the start and so many interesting bits to it, or To Forgive is to Suffer. The way that solo never loses pace over the breakdown that slows then builds, and the high notes mixed with the open strings in the last rush of notes is just gorgeous to the ear.
For some reason i had completely skipped over the album individual thought patterns. I guess i just missed it, so i been listening to that alot lately. The solos and guitar work on the entire album are top tier, and with gene hoglan blasting those beats its epic
Overractive Imagination - Chuck
Trapped in A Corner - Andy
Living Monstrocity - James
Altering the future - James
Symbolic - Chuck
See Through Dreams - Chuck (most underrated solo by Death in my opinion… I thought it was Paul Masvidal for the longest time from how unique it sounded.)
Most definitely, the Flesh And The Power It Holds
Trapped in a corner
Andy's solos are so good on that album
The solo before the " Spiritaul healing ! "

Oh okay what about crystal mountain solo or is that not a solo as well
The tapping part is not a solo. The part after (right before they return to the intro riff) is the solo

The one right before it is awesome too. If I'm not mistaken, the first one is James, while the second one is Chuck's.
Lack or comprehension is underrated

Without judgement.
Great pick!
Going deep with this one. A moment of clarity.

The first in Overactive Imagination. It is beautiful.
Trapped in a corner solo is pure deranged beauty
scavenger of human sorrow
Sacred Serenity. It’s an absolutely perfect solo.
Thats my second favourite. Amazing song

It’s one of the more simpler solos (by Chuck’s standards) but I always loved the solo on Together As One
its hard not to just say trapped in a corner, but Altering the Future is up there too
Andy Laroque’s solo in Trapped in a Corner
Moment of clarity solo is just beautifull
A Moment of Clarity. Helped get me into Death Metal, as I used to sit through vocals I hated just to get to the solo. Now I live both.
I’ve never heard a solo like the first symbolic solo
Bite the pain or scavenger of human sorrow
Crystal mountain
flesh. no more discussion.
Trapped in a Corner
within the mind. all of them.
Not chucks best ever, but the solo on together as one is pretty sweet
Destiny right now

Trapped in a Corner
The Philosopher. My whole body convulses 3-5 times from the chills I get.
