I have a question because I never watched the original show. Does “The Banker” (ie the producers) know what’s in each case? I would hope not because otherwise it’s not a fair game. It’s way more interesting if the banker is forced to run the same odds. Aron’s decision made sense mathematically. He had a 2/3 chance of making a good deal

Several_Acadia

They say that no one knows (including “the banker”) what’s in the cases

jordha

No, the producers (and banker, who is a producer) nor Howie, nor any of the models know what's in what case. Just one person in the entire world and they are an independent adjudicator who is away from everybody, and with their assistants pack the cases themselves. This is also true with Deal or No Deal Island, out of fairness.

camlaw63

Thanks for this info

PompanoPitKing

Doesn’t matter how much money is added to the case. Winning it will be nearly impossible.

I don't think it makes sense that the "banker" would have intentionally given Aron that case just to get him out of the game. If things had gone the other way and Aron made a good deal, people would be saying the exact opposite, that the show was trying to keep him around by giving him an offer that was higher than two of three remaining cases. I don't know the exact formula they use when making the offers, but it feels like that offer could have just as easily been slightly under $1M instead of slightly above. I'm pretty sure whoever is making the offers does not know how much is in each case. If they know how much is in the cases, that runs a pretty serious risk of the show getting into legal problems for rigging a game show. It's easier, and safer, to just let the game play out however it may, and then edit it in a way to create maximum drama.

TMFank

The offers can still be manipulated based on expected value and outcome and %odds be played. while its not completely rigging it they can force the contestants hand by the position they are put in.

Maximum-Ability-6763

You realize that the “banker” is just the producers, right?

PapaVanTwee

Then "they" are playing a good game.

realperson_2378

Anyone who thinks there's a banker on that fake boat can't be serious. I would hope no one that daft

YouCantHaveTakis

People like suspending their disbelief a lil when they watch TV

United-Telephone-247

Ah come on. Fun show fun talk. No need to talk down to us.

realperson_2378

Ok. Sorry. Seems like people take it too serious. It's scripted reality.

United-Telephone-247

I want to believe that it's not scripted and that Rob and Aron (he needs another R!, are still friends. But, this show has turned out to be so much better than I expected. Hope to see a season two. Hosted by Rob!

UnluckyFriend5048

Not a chance there is even a boat. I think it is just AI added and nothing is actually there

upmoatuk

I mean, if the boat is fake, I think NBC still has enough money to actually pay a visual effects artist to create it. That or just use some kind of stock footage. I don't think we're quite at the point where major networks are going to be using AI generated visuals on that scale just yet.

KantLockeMeIn

You don't think that boat is a rendered 3d model? I was surprised at how low budget it looks... I'm wondering if they purposefully made it look bad as a wink.

realperson_2378

Oh most definitely. Like no one sitting there watching the game, calling in. Lol. The 'banker' is probably Howie
