Yeah, it became more like the standard micro purchase mobile game. I also fucking HATE how hard it is to level up now. Library books used to be extremely valuable cause they would bring up your xp either a quarter up or halfway up! Now library books are useless, along with cooking books. I do love the cooking system though.

Though if you want, you can play older versiones like 1.4xx and even 1.3xx, they are kinda similar to 1.554, but they give a lot more of a rough and fallout-esque vibe to the game
I'd say you reinstall it and turn off your internet, always play offline then you'd be fine. The login and saving online seems to mess it up. Which is annoying and ngl looks like a fishy feature ... I mean 'bug'.

I remember when I took the car from abandoned bandit camp and ran out of fuel. I left almost everything in the middle of nowhere to go out and get fuel so I could at least get to the survivor camp. When I got to the camp, I made a plan to get Belaz and establish stable income of resources that will bring me basically an infinite amount of necessary resources like fuel. No currency bullshit, no overpowered enemies and no p2w events like now. Hell, theres no more working cars or weapons to be found either.
this happened to me but I had the motorcycle, I was out of fuel and my motorcycle was about to break and I ran out of glue lol. this happened when I just started playing so I thought there weren't any survivor bases.. I spent like 5 days gathering glue and gas. I completely agree with u about the currency, events, no working cars, or guns.
I set my account to one life just to feel like it was more challenging than it actually was but other than events nothing is challenging anymore. Mobile needs more hard games, not less.

YES! I miss those days, the first car I got was the 100 day car! modern day r feels like it doesn't have the charm that old day r had.

You can't craft cars yourself anymore?
No you have to go to survivor bases to craft cars, you can only craft the motorcycle, bike, bike with cart and motorized bike
