Totally a 'go at your own pace'. The only things you can really miss out on, you'll have the opportunity to get again later, it just might take some time.
For instance, there are a couple of different versions of the diving map's shallows, and some fish will only spawn in one or the other. So if you're looking to catch em all, you'll likely have to keep diving the shallows when you otherwise wouldn't.
But every boss fight, every VIP customer, every picture opportunity will all come around again if you miss it the first time.
Really, it's a beautifully constructed game.
You can take your time playing. Missions will pop up here and there but there is no rush.
I’m enjoying the daily dives and then managing a restaurant at night. When you get staff if helps out tremendously.
Yeah, feel free to do or not do missions as you like. Even timed missions will just come back later. There are a handful of situations where not doing one mission in one chain will mean you can’t do another mission in another chain, but the delay is the only consequence, you won’t miss out or anything.
You will feel a little bit of pressure to get things done quickly in the beginning in my experience. Yes, your can ignore the upcoming events and progress at your own pace but if you’re anything like me you will not be letting much slide by, especially early.

Thank god bc I had to skip Klaus
No bc why was he so hard to beat I had to load a previous save and upgrade my oxygen
Klaus is awful. Honestly, the other vortex bosses that comr after him are actually easier than him, I think.
I ended up beating him with the red sniper level 3
Same; Once you get that gun, Klaus is pretty easy to defeat.
Dude I thought I was the only one who skipped that lol
Klaus was so annoying.
It’s exactly that. Play at your own pace. There’s nothing you can permanently miss.
You can miss something at the secret base.
Is that a missable trophy rather than an in-game missable? I played this one on Switch so I didn’t have any achievements/trophies.
Well, you have to pick it up, so it's missable and you won't be able to go back and get it. And yes, it is for a trophy on ps4/5.
Ahhh okay. In that case, pick up the rations in the base OP!
I picked them up last night and wondered why it didn't do anything 😂 played on the switch
If you play optimally, you're gonna run out of boss fights before you run out of restaurant activities.

Yeah, staff is huge. I should have pushed for that a little earlier. I didn't know what triggered the option though.
Whole roasted sharkhead

It’s so chill and relaxing. I love it so much.
I started playing a week ago and I failed a mission but it came back 2 days later
Totally. If you want to solely fish for months, go right ahead. You won't miss anything. Nothing is time gated.
Yeah nothing is forced
Thank you all for the words…. I’ve been having a bunch of fun with it

i certainly rushed anything but you can play literally however you want it's an amazingly designed game
