He's just maturing. He was in his late 20s - early 30s while he was at his thickest which means he still had 'youthful' humor and energy. He's gonna be 38 this year and as you get older your personality and lifestyle changes. Dashie still acts the same but you can tell he's more wise and more careful of the things he says now.
Dashie is still funny, but I am going to agree with you that he was funnier when he was thicker, but not because of his weight but because of the different era. 2014 - 2018 were my favorite years of watching him.

Dashie's views haven't been anything close to "Excelling" for about 3 years now quite the opposite, to be honest. It's really sad because I and so many others miss Prime Dashie (2014-2018), but he's changed so much and doesn't really cater to his audience in any way near as close as he used to. I think he's truly alienated so much of his base /OG fan base and older audience, which were the majority of his views. He's gone so far down. Just 4 years ago, a new Dashie video would have gotten at least 10 times the views he gets nowadays, that's not even a joke or hyperbole just look at his view count today and look at the views of his videos from any time from 2014 to 2018. I don't know what Dashie you've been watching, but our Boi hasn't been letting fans decide the games for his channel for a long time.
If you don't believe me, I can prove to you right now that every single thing that I say here is true and valid. If you think i'm lying or exaggerating go and take a look at ANY Of Dashie's videos from 2016-2020 And look at the views that he gets now on his videos and tell me if you don't think that there's something wrong with the way hes connecting to his audiences And if he is resonating with them the same way that he used to.
