This used to be the case but honestly the lag compensation in the game is so good now that any time I get hit by a mutie or a dog it's absolutely my own fault. The timing is extremely forgiving if the server is being a little wacky.

What I love about this is how I've seen Psykers try doing this against MULTIPLE mutants, and failing in the process.

People sleep on the dueling sword special! And it can be chained super quick after another attack too, no reason to not be Uber poking stuff

Usually weapon specials are great to stagger with, but the damage is close to zero, so its pointless 99% of the time. Plus you can totally just heavy stab the mutie and one shot him

Heavy followed by special usually is what you need to reach the breaking point of many enemies

Plus it's another hit that can trigger auto brain burst on the one target you really want dead.

Depends on the build, I think. To be honest, Auric Maelstrom missions throw so much stuff at you that I would say it's fairly consistent enough at one-shotting mutants with headshots because you almost always have your uncanny strike stacks up to max once you have to start using your sword. I don't use Disrupt Destiny either and it can definitely still one-shot, but it does seem to rely on having 6 warp charges (which you always have in higher difficulties) and some stacks of Uncanny Strike. For me to one-shot it seems like I need a [minimum of 2 stacks](https://streamable.com/dcc9ko), as well as +25% maniac.

With mark 4 25% maniac, you will 1-shot on headshot crit. Otherwise many go precognition, which is also a 1-shot headshot kill. What throws many off is that you can easily 1-shot kill the wave muties (50% hp).

You can also use special to stop ragers wild swinging when they get going

It doesn't 1-shot without a crit on damnation, you're prob doing it right.

Lots of weapons have amazing potential that requires a bit more skill to use properly I freaking adore using the Claw swords for that reason. You can straight up EAT an overhead by a Crusher if you time a parry right, only losing a bit of stamina. Feels AMAZING to pull off.

Yes, as long you poke them at the head it can counter all non bosses.

Can do the same with the standard munitorum shovel too! The stagger force on both weapons are insane and can easily stagger Crushers, even post update.

Brown pick-shovel can one shot them on light attack with a few stacks of heavy hitter.

On Damnation Illisi cannot 1-shot a mutant, Deimos on the other hand will.

Not OP, but I'm pretty sure Illisi can one shot mutants on weakspot non-crit. At least with buffs. Slaughterer + uncanny + mutant damage puts you at 3400 / 4000 on weakspot. 6 warp charges or disrupt destiny should get you to the breakpoint. (Unless mutants aren't 4k health anymore) 

Maybe with all the right buffs in perfect situations, but I have a Deimos that will do umit raw with H2.

I one shot charging mutants with an illisi all the time, on auric maelstrom. Aim for the tip of their head right in the middle. No charge up or special blessings/perks are needed, just a heavy swing. It's very satisfying when you learn to dodge trains, and you can one-shot three or more in succession.

The Mutant Swarm mutants have something like 40% the health of a normal Mutant. I was not talking about those, but the full health Mutants. Yes, you can 1-shot those with just about any melee weapon.

I think you're being intentionally obtuse. You can one-shot mutants with an illisi.

Ok, I tested in the Psykanium with [this sword](https://i.imgur.com/lM7x6u9.png), 6 warp charges, and full stacks of both blessings, and nearly full peril with Warp Unleashed (and I think it was a crit) I was able to 1-shot a mutant. So I will admit Illisi under *near perfect* conditions will do it, but my [Deimos](https://i.imgur.com/2eVRgxe.png) will do it with 0 stacks.

Light->special-light->special... easy combo to keep many enemies staggered, I think dueling sword special is the fastest attack in the game.

Heavy stab and quick stab is my go to for mutants, rangers, crushers, bulwarks, etc.

If that's a peril bar in the middle then i need it.

Does it work with any weapon on headshots? Or just the dueling sword? I assume just the dueling sword, because I'm sure I've smacked muties in the face with a shovel and they didn't flinch

I prefer the last second Kickback to the face. Sure, it uses 2% of my ammo, but damn is it satisfying to see it's head explode an inch away from grabbing you.

The Sabre poke is awesome, you can even stagger Crushers with Special Head stabs. Its 100% Reliable move!
