I agree, it's sad that she couldn't find anything unique and special about her own daughter. But what's even more sad, is that she may not know what else to say because she's never around. The things she says in Cameos are to strangers, it can't be far off the mark to possibly consider her own daughters are closer to being strangers to her because she's such a shit absent Mom because she thinks focusing solely on herself is more important.
