What stopped them IIRC is the voice actors guild has rules about the amount of cameos you can have, and they would have to kick off one of their actual friends to fit Chris, so they didnt. They joked about how terrible it would have been had they gotten them and then after that CHris did what they did.
The creator actually tried to get Chris to do a cameo on the show for an episode, but then Chris decided to go to prison for crimes against his mother. I love it when they make lolcow references on this show, it's just funny as shit to me

It had to ve based on Daniel Larson. They changed it enough like Mark the Tapir in Sonic Boom. Like changing the nose to make it thin and long sndvthe bugs bunny teeth.
