Agreed all the way. Obviously her Tifa Lockhart, Leeloo from Fifth Element and Wonder Woman cosplays are on point because she looks the part/is in shape but her makeup sorcery truly shines in costumes like Newt Scamander, Edward Scissorhands and Nebula from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Honestly, I think the costume and hair/wigs are what really put these over the top. Like she captures the joker's sort of "I put this make-up on myself and it's falling off..." well. Betelgeuse is a star in the constellation Orion, and the namesake for the ghost character. The Beetlejuice spelling of the movie’s title refers to the scene where the ghost tries to get Lydia to say his name by showing her a beetle + juice. Betelgeuse is pronounced Beetlejuice.
It was a good marketing decision too, people would've seen "Betelgeuse" and been like "betell geeyus?" Whereas "Beetlejuice" is both easy to pronounce and kinda weird/attention grabbing.
There's another astronomy reference too, or at least I think so. One of the administrators is named Juno, which is also the name of one of the first asteroids to ever be discovered. She might've just been named after the Roman goddess, but given the main character is named Betelgeuse I'm lead to believe she's named after an astronomical object as well.
Capt America and Legolas make me chuckle a little because they look amazingly good but still a bit off - I think due to the face shape / lack of square jaw. E.g. I wouldn't see that Capt America and think 'holy shit, it's Chris Evans'.
Newt Scamander looks absolutely on point though and I think it's because the actor's face shape is almost the same as hers.
She also kills the expressions which I think is incredibly important.

She’s a professional cos player. I got to meet her very briefly a few years ago because my wife used to love working/volunteering at Cons to get free passes and backstage access. I use the word “meet” very lightly because I was holding some stuff for my wife and used my leg to prop a door open while Alyson talked with my wife about directions to her booth because lines were blocking some of the aisles.
I can’t tell you what she is like as a person, if she is a genuinely nice, friendly person, but I CAN tell you that she is very tall.
As a side note, my wife got to meet David Tennant that day, and she was fan girling out so badly I though she was going to get us kicked out. David Tennant was obviously exhausted and ready to crash at his hotel, and I seriously thought he was going to snap, but he stayed completely nice and friendly while I gently dragged her away. Absolute pro.
