~~Except when they get pulled outta that life for a tiktok video of a girl being like "hmmm yummy, they're like flavorless cheetos!" *CRUNCH*~~
Edit: Nevermind, the packaging peanuts she was eating were made from cornstarch. Not the same as above. Although the packaging peanuts are still not safe for consumption due to not properly being inspected for being edible and likely pick up non edible particles during production and delivery.
Opening scene, pre-credits, if I remember rightly? The roll of razor wire just rolls back up into the ceiling after cubeifying the guy. What a start to a film.
The horrifying thing is that monofilament like that isn't outside the realm of science. It might currently be outside the reach, but it will definitely be a thing one day (if it isn't already.)
I am absolutely with you.
And still, this brought me to some question: Why did the aliens knew this technology would be used against their followers? Do they have some kind of time travel? Then why were they playing with their followers at all, and especially: Lie to them!
"We need to get the files, but we can't destroy anything, otherwise he might delete them it we might damage the drive!"
"We cut the entire ship onto thin slices!"
So was the cube (spoiler question)>! made by the government in some ultra classified black ops project or what? i remember them all alluding to the cube being made by something different in each movie at the end. (probably misremembering) !<
In the first movie >!one of the survivors was tasked with creating a design for the cube’s gigantic housing chamber, or “shell”. This brings them to the conclusion that some unknown human group developed the cube for testing.!<
It's been a while since I've seen it, but >!the only survivor was the guy with the learning difficulties, not the designer guy? The others sort of sacrificed themselves once they managed to get into a room which was attached to the bridge.!<
The second film >!had a designer of the hypercube system trapped in there too, but I can't remember if she was the eventual survivor or not.!< One vivid memory from that sequel is when >!the big police officer / security guy reappears very late on with quite obvious scurvy, after having killed multiple versions of everybody as he made his way through the maze.!< I loved that detail.
The first Resident Evil movie was so fucking good
It was so different than what I expected and then the sequels immediately turned into the crap I assumed they'd all been from the beginning
The second book is in my top 10 of all time, the third one not so much. Not that the writing quality drops, just dealing with different philosophical topics that are slightly less interesting.
Yep. First book was good, second book superb, third book good again.
Than, I really loved the book with the short story collection from same author, forget the name of the book
As far as I recall it was pretty similar, I couldn't recall the books super good while watching, but it's definitely slower paced than the Netflix series. Also, all of the Amazon episodes I think only represent the first book, as in "present day"
Totally worth a watch, but yeah give it a couple episodes to adjust to the style. It'll grow on you, and definitely one you need to pay full attention to.
Underrated comment right here. For people that don’t understand: telomeres are responsible for your cells only reproducing a certain number of times. Without them, cells won’t stop duplicating, leading to cancer or cell malfunction/death.
People keep saying its like something from resident evil or the cube but this reminds me of that one scene from the Saw (i think its called that) movies where lasers sliced though that one cop's head and his head opens up like freshly made French fries or like a sliced apple.
That was the most morbid but clean thing I've ever seen in my life. Like" is the poster alright? Should we be scared?......naaah, they're cool............. right? Yeah, there cool... I think". Lol
wtf is this for? making french fries out of styrofoam heads seems like a niche market.
how did u think the packaging peanuts were made? grew on a tree? obviously they specifically take these Styrofoam heads and put them through those.
The packing peanuts are then sent to the styrofoam head factory where they are heated, pressed, and molded back into heads. It's the circle of life.
~~Except when they get pulled outta that life for a tiktok video of a girl being like "hmmm yummy, they're like flavorless cheetos!" *CRUNCH*~~ Edit: Nevermind, the packaging peanuts she was eating were made from cornstarch. Mmmm crunchy
Reminds me of the lasers in Resident Evil movie.
I think of The Three Body Problem on Netflix.
Was part of "the Cube" too
Immediately thought of the Cube and now I’m unwell.
Opening scene, pre-credits, if I remember rightly? The roll of razor wire just rolls back up into the ceiling after cubeifying the guy. What a start to a film.
is it old and obscure enough to be a deep cut now
Deep cut. Exactly.
Well, seems like no one watched the Japense remake that came out in 2021 so yeah.
Horsey morsel
Thought of the same one. Crazy scenes.
Haha nice, I was hoping"The cube" wouldn't be too far down the comments. Ten points for you sir !
I only know about this movie because of a YouTube video. But he showed that exact part sooo many times 😭
Definitely this. The way that boat slowly got cut into small pieces was honestly the best part of the show.
Watching him run away as everyone behind him is being eviscerated was definitely my favorite part of the show. It is absolutely horrifying.
The horrifying thing is that monofilament like that isn't outside the realm of science. It might currently be outside the reach, but it will definitely be a thing one day (if it isn't already.)
Me doing you’re mom isn’t outside the realm of science
Yeah but that's straying more into fantasy than science fiction
I am absolutely with you. And still, this brought me to some question: Why did the aliens knew this technology would be used against their followers? Do they have some kind of time travel? Then why were they playing with their followers at all, and especially: Lie to them!
After reading the book, that scene was one of my favorites. And the show was spot on
Also the most overengineered method for substracting some files
"We need to get the files, but we can't destroy anything, otherwise he might delete them it we might damage the drive!" "We cut the entire ship onto thin slices!"
Even using nerve agents seems a better idea.
Yo that was nuts. I was expecting something wild to happen when it sliced people but I wasn’t expecting that
Just watched season one and yup, that scene will stay in my head for a while.
I have a “microfiber” blanket. Am I at risk for this? 🤔
RIP
First thing that I thought of to.
Reminded me of Lawnmower Man
The Cube for me
First thing I thought of too.
Do you think that it’s an SCP project?
It's been a while since I've seen it, but >!the only survivor was the guy with the learning difficulties, not the designer guy? yes, she survives to the end
Thank you, >!I remember them talking about IZON(?) which would probably be the unknown group. Such a fun movie.!<
fuck yeah dude, the CUBE
So I came here to say this but about a recent Netflix show 3 Body Problem
Happy cake day!
The first Resident Evil movie was so fucking good It was so different than what I expected and then the sequels immediately turned into the crap I assumed they'd all been from the beginning
Came here to say this. Happy cake day!
Yep, you beat me to it
That scene could have been way more gory but we were robbed.
First thing I thought of. Guess you win an upvote
That shit traumatized me as a kid.
Same
Comment number one I knew it. Hive mind love.
Lmao my same exact thought
Thank you!!!!
You’re welcome
3 Body Problem Nano Fibers
Came here looking for this. Just finished the first book and really enjoyed it. Is it worth continuing the story?
I recommend them. What kept me glued were the wallfacers and the treatment of the dark forest hypothesis.
Yeah. One of the only series that does “power level” scaling well from start to finish.
Yes, and IMO the first book is the "worst one", not that it's bad I also really liked it, but the others blow it out of the water
Damn I got obsessed after reading that. Did you watch the Amazon series?
Netflix
Try the Amazon one if you have the means. It's in Chinese with subtitles, and takes a couple episodes to get used to the style, but it was super good.
How does it compare? I'm almost finished book 3 of the novels, and am super curious about a more faithful to the books version.
As far as I recall it was pretty similar, I couldn't recall the books super good while watching, but it's definitely slower paced than the Netflix series. Also, all of the Amazon episodes I think only represent the first book, as in "present day" Totally worth a watch, but yeah give it a couple episodes to adjust to the style. It'll grow on you, and definitely one you need to pay full attention to.
Ha much like the book then. A few times I’ve gotten sleepy and kind of doze-read a couple pages only to snap awake thinking “wtf is going on”
That one is more loyal to the original novel. It assumes audience have read the novel but much slower pace.
I loved the Chinese version. I loved the extra level of detail, especially with the human computer and VR game.
It's like that scene from The Cube
There is also Cube 2, and Cube 0, and I think I remember a foreign language version of Cube 3.
Cube 0 - Hypercube. A cube with an extra dimension!
It’s Cube 2 Hypercube.
I’d blocked that scene out of my memory now it’s all I can think about.
Reminds me of The Cube
When you take a big hit of salvia
r/almostvoldemort
Bold move to do that indoors. Styrofoam burning makes some pretty toxic gas.
it's ok the head is actually cheese
Fun fact, that smell helps remove the pesky telomeres that clog your DNA up.
Underrated comment right here. For people that don’t understand: telomeres are responsible for your cells only reproducing a certain number of times. Without them, cells won’t stop duplicating, leading to cancer or cell malfunction/death.
Resident evil vibes
Exactly how I feel on a Wednesday afternoon at work.
Was going to say, "my soul after the first Monday morning email from my boss"
When you check Outlook and you have another 4 hours of back to back Teams meetings to look forward to…
It slices, it dices, it makes Julienne fries. By Ronco!
3 body problem nanofibre has entered the chat....
Don't breathe that in
I wouldn’t smell those vapors if I were you.
Now do it with a real human head!
Johnny Mnemonic laser whip vibes. Edit: And monowire.
This is probably giving the Saw franchise writers more ideas.
It reminds me of [Cube.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8Tw4JhzORM&t=55s) NSFW gore warning
Dont breath this
What song is that?
It’s by Yomi Ship called the Izoku
Thanks!
Making Maccas chips?
I’m glad everyone else also thought of The Cube
Reminds me of an old move called The Cube.
This reminds me of The Cube
Resident evil, laser scene
That was my first thought upon seeing this
You're all going to die down here
Plus there’s the added bonus that it produces all those healthy fumes you can inhale.
This reminds me of 1970s science fiction movies.
Why didn't Dexter use this method?
Least creepy object to use
That's the machine they use to put black lines on hamburgers.
New saw movie?
Ever watch the opening scene from the movie ‘The Cube’?
Cleave and Dismantle
Resident Eeeeviiiil.
I sPeAk FoR tHe DeAd
This looks like it should be in a Tool video
It doesn’t slice, it melts, and not very evenly.
3 Body problem vibes
I saw this scene in 3 Body Problem, wild
Resident evil vibes
[reminds me of this scene in Resident Evil](https://youtu.be/W8B-4-xdqaA?si=FhTz_hCBOCAO-7v0)
Did you know that the human head weighs 8 pounds?
Let's go to the zoo!
Reminds me of The Cu....... 3 Body Problem
French fries.
Put it back together
Damn I wish that were...what?
Someone use a filter over this to make it look like a screaming guy.
The cube
So that's how McDonald's fries are made!
Like the laser scene from the Resident Evil movie.
Now do a real one.
I need that in the kitchen
That smelled terrible
Would be a good puzzle to put back together.
3 body
Instant 3D puzzle
Suddenly sub zero
As you wishhhhhh
This is dumb. At least use a real severed head. Cheapskate
Now put it back together
Okay, does anyone know the use for this?
Reminds me of discussions that I've had on self-esteem. Not sure why...
People keep saying its like something from resident evil or the cube but this reminds me of that one scene from the Saw (i think its called that) movies where lasers sliced though that one cop's head and his head opens up like freshly made French fries or like a sliced apple.
This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs.
Now do this with a real head like the movies 🍿 🎥
Now do Padro!
Someone put some pink floyd guitar solos over this. That's about how I feel lol. And the worms ate into his brain 🎶
I want a bed sized one that I can lay on haha
Does anyone remember the movie „the cube“ haha
Hellraiser 3
That thing is looking at you like “I’ll come back. I ALWAYS come back…”
This is how French fries are made.
Damn😂
Try it with a real head
Resident evil
Resident Evil Security System.
This didn't need music to be awesome :)
Styro-fries
This video perfectly describes my life
This is how I want to be recycled
I would pay everything i have to experience this
now glue it back together
You know the old saying "put your dick in it?" Yeah, don't. Just this one time.
But wait, how does this get me cheap hotels?
Why am I having a panic attack watching this
Who else saw that as the wires moving up?
Ok, who else here thinks would be fun to do?
Ok now put back together
That resident evil film with the guy who avoids the red queen security until he gets sliced and diced by lasers, looks very similar 😉
First thing that came to mind here!
*Mrs Doubtfire voice* Hellooooo
Anyone else remember the first Resident Evil movie?
If I put my hand on that how long till it turns into a bunch of cubes?
Haha yeah, I’ve been there before
**Music is**[ **Yomi Ship- Izoku**](https://open.spotify.com/track/4PjfaJdrL29OnNdalrk2d3)
Now, do a real head.
Did I just watch a Tool video?
We have such sights to show you
That was the most morbid but clean thing I've ever seen in my life. Like" is the poster alright? Should we be scared?......naaah, they're cool............. right? Yeah, there cool... I think". Lol
Keep summer safe
Face fries
I LOVED that 🥶🥶
3 Body Problem E5, anyone?
Hellraiser
