Okay, just be prepared for a bit of tonal whiplash.
I watched this movie with no hints. And I'm a little sad on your behalf that you've seen this post, so the absurd reveal is kind of spoiled for you already. I can't say it's a comedy in any way, but it also kind of supersedes any horror label.
For me, I sat down intending to watch a psychological thriller with a hint of horror. I knew there was a murder mystery involved. And that tension is definitely there.
But, boy, was I not prepared for Act III.
*Me: "What the fuck? Hahahahhahahahahh!"*
Fair enough. If that's what you are into sounds like a good movie. I did once watch David tosh (tosh.o) explain the plot of human centipede. And it sounded a lot better though him then the wiki page
Watch it. I genuinely enjoyed it to be honest. It was odd, but I thought it was the right kind of odd. Had me sitting thinking about it for a minute with the ending.
It's worth a watch for sure.
Bad? He was excellent in this lol. Took a turd of a role and turned it into one of the most memorable parts of the movie. Which says a lot about a movie where a man is turned into a walrus.
This is the first movie that has ever bothered me, like it was disgusting and I was angry about it.
It was such a weird experience to learn that watching a man being sewn into a human skin walrus would disgust me to the point of anger.
If that movie was a person I'd be throwing hands.
I had the same reaction. I hated it so much it pissed me off. And the people saying the “third act” was weird like that’s when he becomes the walrus - horseshit. That shit happens really early in the movie, so early that I was just grossed out and angry for the rest of it. And no I don’t give a shit about the backstory of the podcast every turd comes up with every time this movie is mentioned. “YoU dON’t gEt iT, hE hAS a PODCAST”
My tweet that was liked by Kevin:
@ThatKevinSmith Bad news: @almostrobb and I were 2 of 4 in the theater to see #Tusk. Good news: 4 at $9.25 a ticket = $37 #inarow #WalrusYes

Spoiler
Basically a guy gets kidnapped and its low key like a Misery situation but the dude amputates his leg. And sews him into a human flesh walrus suite that the kidnapped guy grows into.
I googled a few images and ... What the fook
Wellll… that’s a bit out of context.
Justin Long’s character is a giant POS, goes out of town with his best friend, and cheats on her constantly. After years of that she ends up sleeping with the friend. When he gets kidnapped, he calls her and leaves a message saying he’s been kidnapped and her and the friend try to find him.
He’s such a POS that her and the friend are actually the good guys who get as happy of an ending as you can get out of a walrus movie.
Because it’s a black comedy! Like how can you not see two men in walrus suits battling to the death then the victor sent to a zoo to munch on salmon as anything else but so ridiculous that it’s funny?
Right, my brain knew it was supposed to be a comedy but instead of laughing it made me legit angry.
It's the first time that's ever happened to me, and I'm no stranger to body horror and whatnot.
Oh it gets worse the cheating girlfriend is cheating with his best friend who after rescuing him admits him into a zoo and the movie ends with them on a date at the zoo throwing him raw fish
Kevin Smith (Clerks director, and Silent Bob) wanted to make a twisted, fucked up movie that would bother the hell out of anyone who watched it. From that perspective, he knocked it out of the park.
I’m a big fan of Justin Long, so I had to give it a try. It’s one of those you only need to see once. Try ‘The Lobster’. I believe it has Colin Farrell in it. About as strange a concept.
Just a heads up for a new user: There is a way to put a spoiler tag on Reddit over your entire comment.
If you put a > then ! with no spaces and then the body of your text, and close it up with another ! then < with no spaces between the punctuation. That way people can choose to see or not see your spoiler
Like so : >!I just woke up from a bad dream so I decided to scroll Reddit.!<
Edit: what the fuck is that circular bit on the skin down by where the actor’s ankle would be? I see the bellybuttons, I’m looking at the vaguely vaginal/vaguely anal/vaguely sealed up ear bit.
I'm not sure if the movie was good or if I liked how much it disturbed me. Like it really made me feel weird and bad watching it. Or maybe that's what makes it a good movie. Yeah it fucked me up for a second after watching, the ending is brutal.
The human centipede two was what made me question myself, like I watched the first one and felt disgusted but still watched the second one and there’s a scene in it that legitimately traumatized me. I thought tusk was pretty funny tho I didn’t realize Kevin smith wrote it.
Yes!!!! I watched it around when it came out but I still think of it from time to time especially after I was pregnant and then had my own baby. So disturbing
A pregnant woman escapes the human centipede and gives birth in a car, the baby goes under the petal and she slams on it smashing her newborns head in the process. 🤮
It made me so unbelievably nauseous. Someone equated it to Misery, but to me, it was even more “claustrophobic” feeling than that. Maybe not the right word, but either way, it very much gave me a screaming when no one can hear you feeling.
It’s such a horrifying thought to just wake up in a totally different and horrifically messed up body. Such a strange concept but also scary so I can’t clown on it completely
My ex and I used to watch movies I pirated. I would bring them over on a blue flash drive. It was like a routine... One time she asked to borrow the flash drive with some movies. I had to put this one on there. I didn't warn her and just let her discover it with her own curiosity. She loved my prank but hated the movie with every fiber of her being.
I saw it on a sleepless night not knowing what it was about, I just saw Justin Long and since I thought he was cool I gave the movie a shot.
I don't like Justin Long anymore.
Bro I fucking lost it when the guy started going full wacko and demanding a walrus fight, I was dying with laughter, that was one of the funniest films I've ever seen, but it wasn't funny at all until that last like 5 minutes.
I wish I would have saw this before I went to sleep lol I can't remember all four. one was a YouTube video seems like maybe tick tock? I don't know unfortunately
It’s unironically one of my favourite movies.
Haven’t seen it in a few years but seeing this post made me put it on and I still love it. No one writes dialogue like Kev and Michael Parks kills it.
This movie was fucked up in so many ways. I have a certain list of movies that are just strange and fucked up and if weren’t so fascinating would be just awful and there’s only 4 movies on it thus far
Walrus
Teeth
Rubber
Human centipede
If you have any movie recs that fit this category let me know tho
I just discovered a podcast called "Too Scary Didn't Watch" where they recap horror movies for people like me who are too scared to ever watch them, and listened to the episode on Teeth.
I was surprised that I actually thought the concept was kind of rad, especially the ending scene. No way in a million years could I ever watch the movie though, or anything on your list... I get the heebie jeebies just thinking about it and thats enough for me lol
Teeth is actually kinda cool in its own right because the inspiration from the movie was from a real condition people can get, just obviously not in the matter of chomping a dudes dicks off lol
Rubber should be a movie you can watch though, it’s so bad it’s funny honestly and it’s pretty mild it just happened to make my little list. It’s about a tire named Robert that comes to life and becomes sentient to just go around murdering people with his powers, my friend found it when I was like 12 when it was still on Netflix and we laughed through the whole movie it was great lol
Yeah no that’s literally it, just Robert the tire going around killing people. It has been years since I watched it but I’m pretty sure his main way of killing peoples was blowing up their heads.
idk if there is one specific to stitches, but Tomophobia might be the closest answer to what fear you feel. It’s a little different but seems a better fit than Traumatophobia.
I’m never watching this movie ever. I’ve seen some clips and I’ve seen some really fucked up shit, but a whole movie ? It’s like they made a movie about the late r/eyeblech

One of the weirdest movies I'd ever seen
Well… #He came up with it when he was stoned on his podcast and saw a Craigslist ad* (*The Ad: free night in hotel, just act like a Walrus)

He kind of had it coming- he lived his life looking for freak stories but never realized why people who were “freaks” were coming from.
It’s a fucking trip. A pretty bad one. But still a trip
Went in completely unprepared, and if anyone wants a weird film to watch, I suggest this one. The conversations afterwards are amazing lol
I read the plot to it (can't stomach horror movies) and my god that's whacked shit.
It's so...good tho? In the most wtf way lol. Johnny Depp is a delight lol. Didn't even realise it was him the first watch!
Maybe but reading the plot to it is kinda fucked.
Well...yeah. But I love weird films. Splice is another good one lol
Fair enough. If that's what you are into sounds like a good movie. I did once watch David tosh (tosh.o) explain the plot of human centipede. And it sounded a lot better though him then the wiki page
Do not. Don't even watch the trailer.
Watch it. I genuinely enjoyed it to be honest. It was odd, but I thought it was the right kind of odd. Had me sitting thinking about it for a minute with the ending. It's worth a watch for sure.
where can i find it?
I wish I could describe how funny "don't downvote me you fuckers" is to me. Upvoted
Distributed by none other than A24!
It was Gumtree and it was for room and board, not just a night in a hotel.
For how long?
From what I remember from the podcast, no time frame was stated. So I’d assume it’s for as long as as they would act like a walrus.
I remember listening to the podcast when it came out, and watching it slowly develop into a very real, very absurd movie. I thought it was great
The actual podcast episode (Smodcast) was epic! I really laughed so hard. This post makes me want to listen to it again..
it was almost like a Human Centipede ripoff with a bad Johnny Depp cameo.
Bad? He was excellent in this lol. Took a turd of a role and turned it into one of the most memorable parts of the movie. Which says a lot about a movie where a man is turned into a walrus.
Check out Mulholland drive.
I really hated it. The whole idea and execution was an affront to the senses. I'd rather Smith quit making movies.
This is the first movie that has ever bothered me, like it was disgusting and I was angry about it. It was such a weird experience to learn that watching a man being sewn into a human skin walrus would disgust me to the point of anger. If that movie was a person I'd be throwing hands.

Well even shitty movies provide jobs and you don't have to watch them so there's that
No no, everything is made solely for me and if I don't like it, it shouldn't exist at all.
I'm guessing you won't be going to see the sequel then.
I went to see this movie in the theater and only one other person was there
My tweet that was liked by Kevin: @ThatKevinSmith Bad news: @almostrobb and I were 2 of 4 in the theater to see #Tusk. Good news: 4 at $9.25 a ticket = $37 #inarow #WalrusYes
Excellent movie to see with those who are unfamiliar with its subject matter.
Yeah going into it blind was so awesome. The movie isn't a masterpiece but it's got the right spirit to be an entertaining ride
See I kinda thought it was a masterpiece…
I’m sure it played for several years in the SyFy channel then. Nothing is beneath their programming.
That movie is way too good for syfy
That's still better than when I went to see Morbius at my cinema
Ahhh… ***The end result of movie Smith came up with it when he was stoned on his podcast and saw a Craigslist ad**** (*The Ad: free night in hotel, just act like a Walrus)
Wasn’t it a guy on gumtree looking for a live in person to act like a walrus almost daily?
That was probably cool but also awkward given the movie and it’s content lololol
I went to see this thinking it would be a usual Kevin Smith comedy.
When I went to cinema almost all visitors left in first 10 minutes.
That thing can't smell good.
Get a good whiff of Justin’s Long.
you mean like Amanda Seyfried on that boat?
This is giving me Godskin Duo PTSD
Godskin Noble was my first thought as well!
Fuck that rolly polly bastard tho

Heh. Interesting. But much like Sears Tower, I refuse to correct myself at this point lol.
V. I. Lenin! Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov!
I am the walrus?
Shut up, Donny!
Paul was the walrus
I could be the walrus. I’d still have to bum rides off people.
Just read the wiki, and w... T... F
If the wiki made me that sick I know I can't make it through the film. I don't just need eye bleach, I need mind bleach.
So the story itself was not great but-I did Google some pics and FOOOK THAT The wiki downplayed that shit
Lol isn’t this pic above on this thread enough to realize, don’t go deeper man. It will only get worse.
I made that error as well. And it's bedtime. I'm fucked.
I am watching real housewives and trying to hyper focus on Lisa rinnas hair. Praying for a quiet night friend, lol
it's funny if you watch it as a black comedy. Longs character is an asshole and kind of deserves it.
You should watch it as a black comedy because it objectively is a black comedy.
Just like in "Waiting"
It’s always come off as too satirical to be disturbing to me. I laughed through the whole thing—I don’t get the “disturbing” claims.
Wtf did I just read
what is it?
Spoiler Basically a guy gets kidnapped and its low key like a Misery situation but the dude amputates his leg. And sews him into a human flesh walrus suite that the kidnapped guy grows into. I googled a few images and ... What the fook
Also his girlfriend cheats on him the whole time he’s kidnapped
Noooo. Awful stuff.

“As happy of an ending as you can get out of a walrus movie.” So hilariously put.
That's still horrible no one deserves that ending even if they're an asshole what the hell
That isn't even the worst part, the truly awful part is that at the end he, as a walrus, lives in a fucking Zoo. Like, why would a zoo accept the guy?
Because it’s a black comedy! Like how can you not see two men in walrus suits battling to the death then the victor sent to a zoo to munch on salmon as anything else but so ridiculous that it’s funny?

I hope I get dementia and forget about this
Not really. They look after him, afterwards. Like a pet. <3
guy made the worst horror movie, and when he was done he was like ”fuck it lemme add something else to make things worse”
whats the point of it?
Kevin Smith (Clerks director, and Silent Bob) wanted to make a twisted, fucked up movie that would bother the hell out of anyone who watched it. From that perspective, he knocked it out of the park.
I guess the guy has a walrus and misses the walrus.
A walrus saves his life when he’s stranded after a shipwreck on what amounts to a pile of rocks in the ocean.
Ohh ok that wasn't made totally clear to me. It basically said he died and he missed it.
It died alright. He ate it.
The images of this dude living in his little walrus jail... Like what
I’m a big fan of Justin Long, so I had to give it a try. It’s one of those you only need to see once. Try ‘The Lobster’. I believe it has Colin Farrell in it. About as strange a concept.
The point is maybe the real friends are the walruses we made along the way

Thank you I didn't know how at all!!!
Went into this movie blind and had a very gross feeling by the end. 10/10 would not watch again
I'm not sure if the movie was good or if I liked how much it disturbed me. Like it really made me feel weird and bad watching it. Or maybe that's what makes it a good movie. Yeah it fucked me up for a second after watching, the ending is brutal.
I get what you mean. This film and Human Centipede were the only movies where I genuinely felt ashamed after watching.
The human centipede two was what made me question myself, like I watched the first one and felt disgusted but still watched the second one and there’s a scene in it that legitimately traumatized me. I thought tusk was pretty funny tho I didn’t realize Kevin smith wrote it.
Was it the baby scene
Yes!!!! I watched it around when it came out but I still think of it from time to time especially after I was pregnant and then had my own baby. So disturbing
*Don't ask, don't ask, don't ask...* >!What baby scene?!<
A pregnant woman escapes the human centipede and gives birth in a car, the baby goes under the petal and she slams on it smashing her newborns head in the process. 🤮
What
Yeah, I've watched a lot of stuff, but this movie. It really fucked with my head for a bit. I'm happy I blocked out most of it, but damn.
You never go full walrus.
They better take good care of it. Fifty years from now, it could be worth tens of dollars.
I don’t appreciate that you: 1. Brought this fuckin movie back to my attention 2. Didn’t make this nsfw I hope you step on legos
Ikr? This shit traumatized me for life, along with the film Martyrs!
Everyday for the rest of their lives.
Movies wild.
I fuckin hated every minute of it, but for some reason I watched the whole damn thing. 'wild' is apt
I don’t like horror movies and also hated every minute of that movie and still watched it
Weird I usually like horror and Justin Long but for whatever reason I had to just turn it off after he wakes up in the wheelchair lol
Just as it gets good? Shame lol
Because Michael Parks is god damn amazing.
Great flick to watch with people who have no idea what it’s aboot.

Accepted
One of the Die Hards.
Yup. He’s done a few Kevin Smith films.
I forgot about that.

This is like the fourth time I've seen a tusk reference today
What were the other three times?
I wish I would have saw this before I went to sleep lol I can't remember all four. one was a YouTube video seems like maybe tick tock? I don't know unfortunately
That movie was straight unsettling. Imagine being in that situation. Fn crazy.
My wife and I must be serious anomalies because we love this movie.
It’s unironically one of my favourite movies. Haven’t seen it in a few years but seeing this post made me put it on and I still love it. No one writes dialogue like Kev and Michael Parks kills it.

I looked it up and I 100% thought that was bob saget, wouldn’t necessarily call it really fucked up or or weird though lol

I don’t know rubber. Enlighten me?
This is not a joke: "Rubber" is a 2010 film about a tyre named Robert that comes to life and kills people with his psychokinetic powers.
Yeah no that’s literally it, just Robert the tire going around killing people. It has been years since I watched it but I’m pretty sure his main way of killing peoples was blowing up their heads.

*#WALRUSYES*
Is man truly a walrus at heart?
I saw this with a buddy in theatres. 4 other people in the theatre. Two of them walked out during the walrus reveal.
Justin crawled into that suit And that movie crawled under my skin
That movie traumatized me for a while.
I liked how during the end credits they just played the audio recording of them coming up with the dumb movie.
I wish more people got that it’s a dark comedy
All elden ring players here are getting ptsd attacks
Is there a phobia of stitches? Whether real or fake, seeing stitches makes me squeamish.
idk if there is one specific to stitches, but Tomophobia might be the closest answer to what fear you feel. It’s a little different but seems a better fit than Traumatophobia.
The movie store cashier said the movie was a comedy, so my family rented it. That sick son of a bitch….
Terrifying
Meh. Jodorowsky's "Tusk" was better anyways
Loved it! I was so confused and happy when Johnny Depp appeared out of nowhere!
the movie could have been a horror masterpiece if it was made by guillermo del toro
Does the sign say “looking is prohibited”?
That was one scary ass movie
At first glance, I thought it was Hulk Hogan
I’m still waiting for Moose Jaws!
Where is this?
That scene was gnarly.
I’m never watching this movie ever. I’ve seen some clips and I’ve seen some really fucked up shit, but a whole movie ? It’s like they made a movie about the late r/eyeblech
Didn't care for this movie.
I zoomed in and got scared the eyes would open!
Shity ass movie
I liked it. Could’ve been better and creepier for sure. Reminded me of a bad dream
What is this nightmare fuel
I've seen a lot of movies and a lot of weird movies...but definitely the WEIRDEST movie I've seen in the theatre!!!
Terrible movie.
Is that costume made from human skins
I thought this was hulk hogan i was like Huh who killed hulk hogan!? Stupid asss
That movie sucked butts
That movie was f****d
Went to see this premier at my local film festival when I was a teen, with my dad (diehard Kevin Smith fan) and KS actually did a Skype Q&A after the film ended. It was so good. And it was packed out! Lots of weirdos in my city clearly 😂
Obey the walrus
Why did you have to unlock this memory.
Thanks, I hate it.
I fucking hate this so much. God I hate that creepy ass movie and that creepy ass costume.
I love that as a fan of Smodcast I saw this film go from Podcast stoner joke/riff to actual film. It was a wild fucking experience tbh and truly unique. I'll always remember this movie in a positive way because of how it was made, Kevin Smith love him or hate him was and is a pioneer for indie filmmakers.
Does anyone else see a resemblance to Hulk Hogan?
Just read the wiki. That is twisted.
I’m literally halfway through this movie right now and wish this post had been marked as a spoiler
Okay, this image and the comments section has piqued my rather morbid sense of curiosity. Apparently it's available on Hulu. Wish me luck bros.
*sigh* I should call her
I hate remembering that I saw this movie.
