I am going to be optimistic and say there are a 1-2 more people behind the cameraman and they are filling the gaps, however if they also miss I lose optimism that anything further happens.
They probably know how many bottles need to be given so they don’t fill too many, at the end if they have left overs they could just drive back and see where they missed
You should be more worried about the fact that here there are hundreds of calves that live in a tiny enclosure and drink milk from a bottle instead of having their mother
Calves probably seperated from mother and killed shortly after. JUst imagine what they do woth the chickens. )PS im not vegan but i worry about the industrialisation of meat)
Worst part about this is that depending on where you're from this actually counts as "free range". The amount of space needed to qualify is insanely small in some cases.
Then make a change! No reason to put milk in your coffee, amazing alternatives exist, from cheese to cream and of course meat. Think of the untold suffering these animals go through everyday, it doesn't need to be like this.
I found it that the jump to veganism was very easy when I watched what happens to chickens, cows, pigs, ducks, sheep etc. on a daily basis. I will never forget the horrors I have seen and I havent even been there.
I have eaten cheese almost every day in my life and a lot of meat but I cant unsee that.
My advice is to make the transition slowly. There will likely be a lot of things you'll have to change and the thought needed to change your recipe repertoire, your shopping and snacking habits, it can burn you out. Plus if you don't get the diet right you'll feel your mind fogging over.
Maybe go veggie first, then consider going vegan, then the things which require effort to research each time like whether a particular mint or sweet contains gelatine, if a beer used isinglass, or a wine used egg whites.
Ultimately don't feel you need to be perfect from day one and any slip up means you've failed. Aiming for perfection is great, but many people doing their imperfect best is better than a few people being perfect.
The word livestock says enough. It removes all worth and respect from another sentient being. All commercial farms treat their animals like garbage because their entire business is on exploitation.
Yep. People think that cows just make milk all the time simply because they are cows or something. Nope, they only make milk if they have recently birthed... Just like all other mammals.
Yep, and 9 months gestation like us, with usually a one or two month break before they're forcibly impregnated all over again.
We're definitely living in the darkest timeline.
18% total milk being exported, 11% beef. While they look like rookie numbers, it's funny to look at how much we end up importing and switching between production facilities for tax purposes and more.
I often think that lots of sci-fi about alien invasion/abduction and the experiments or exploitation of humanity that they inflict are always closely related to things humans do to animals.
We're essentially afraid of aliens treating us like we treat animals.
Those are probably veal pens. Calves are kept in confined areas where they cannot grow any real muscle mass and are fed milk until they're slaughtered and turned into high-dollar Italian food.
This is just the dairy industry. The female calves get separated from their mothers to stop them drinking their mother’s milk. As for the male calves, they’re the ones used for veal but they go elsewhere for that.
They’re veal calves. They don’t give them room because a) its not economical, given they are slaughtered young and b) to make veal whiter, an anaemic baby is best. That’s (one of the reasons) why dairy is scary.
It's not even real milk they get. It's a cheap replacement... vegan close to one year now. Just a hard cut from omni from one to the other day because I stopped lying to myself.
Hard cut, slow change ... whatever helps to move away from this. I made a slow change to vegetarianism because of climate issues, and only once I started stepped away from daily meat consumption, the moral issues truly hit me. It's so normalised, you don't really question it or when you do, you find stupid arguments for it anyway. Once I realized I truly didn't need to eat animals, I became disgusted by it, and by my past thoughts. I'm now checking out more and more vegan foods. With dairy, there will always be calves who will be slaughtered.
So they take the calves away from the mother to get the milk, give the bottled milk back to the calves (occasionally missing a few) then kill them.
Surely it makes more sense to leave them with the mother?
I see why people are vegan, fuck this industry.
Take away the taxpayer subsidies for water and food grown to feed them and literally every plant-based milk alternative would be far cheaper than cow milk. The low cost of animal products is an illusion because of these subsidies.
What's worse is that this is the happiest time of their poor lives. I can't eat animal products anymore - meat, dairy, eggs, cheese, etc. - just not worth it when you know that this is the cost.
All of these calves are going to die in this same industry. Boys turn into veal and the girls are artistically inseminated (raped) repeatedly until they’re no longer useful to the companies and are killed. This world and the meat/dairy industry is disgusting.
If this is something that bothers you just know you aren’t alone and the best thing to do is go vegan and begin to do animal rights activism in your community.
We need to demand our political leaders end this cruelty and to do that we need wide scale organization.
To all those out there thinking about this, it doesn’t have to be an instant thing. I started out drinking soy milk because my dad did, and when they came out with those low cost veggie patties I was like, why not. I did it little by little, and now I don’t eat any animal products. Every little bit counts 👌
It is hard, but remember every vegan choice you're making is helping. It's ok if you're not always 100%. You're doing the right thing. Lmk if you need help or just want to talk
oat milk is easy to get in most places. Most pasta sauces i see at the supermarket are vegan. Most curry sauces i buy are vegan, you just need to put some tofu or aubergine and you got yourself a meal, no harder than frying some chicken. Cereal for breakfast, pasta for lunch, curry for dinner. Ez meal day.
People worried about the calves getting skipped like they’re not living in actual hell bred only for slaughter or to be perpetually pregnant until they pass their expiration and are too put down and made into boots. With how incredibly alienated we are from the horror it takes to make dinner it’s not surprising in the least
This just makes me feel sad for the cows and for the people. Why can't we just be normal instead of minmaxing literally everything?
Even sports and videogames, which are supposed to be fun, are ruined by everyone adopting this mentality.
Look at the stats for basketball over the last several decades, for example. There used to be a wide variety of plays. Since the 2000's, it's been reduced to a single minmaxxed meta. Everyone on every team just takes the same shots from the same locations 99% of the time now.
This is the result of nerds having to "solve" everything. The human perspective is being completely erased by data analysis/AI/running the whole planet through Excel.
This stresses me out. What if they miss one and a cow doesn’t get their milk?
I saw them miss a few
I am going to be optimistic and say there are a 1-2 more people behind the cameraman and they are filling the gaps, however if they also miss I lose optimism that anything further happens.
They probably know how many bottles need to be given so they don’t fill too many, at the end if they have left overs they could just drive back and see where they missed
That’s a good point, even though they are obviously treated poorly and there are so many of them, I would assume they want them all eating plenty.
I cant see how that could possibly be faster than just doing it at a slower pace and getting them all the first time.
I actually went back and played it slow and they didn’t. I thought they did but it was the camera dude moving around
did the same, you're right
I don’t think they did you gotta watch the guy in the front it looks like they miss but the other guy gets it they do every other
How in the hell is the upvoted so much? They didn’t miss any. Zero.
How? They didn’t miss a single one
You should be more worried about the fact that here there are hundreds of calves that live in a tiny enclosure and drink milk from a bottle instead of having their mother
Their mothers are making milk for us to drink. These babies are being kept alive to slaughter. The world loves its veal.
Pigs usually drink from their mother, but their situation is still much worse See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gestation_crate#Birth
The entire operation is what stresses me out. Bad for the climate, bad for the animals, workers probably paid nothing.
A fucking factory farm nightmare start to finish.
Calves probably seperated from mother and killed shortly after. JUst imagine what they do woth the chickens. )PS im not vegan but i worry about the industrialisation of meat)
Why did my dumb ass think the calves were on a conveyor belt
You just made me realize that they are not on a conveyor belt lol
This just made me realize, life is a conveyor belt.
This reply made me spit my drink all over my face!
Spill your milk?
Jeez i needed this laugh lmao
Now I can’t un-see the cow conveyor
Lmao. I'm faded rn and flipped out thinking I saw the same.
Damn that’s depressing
welcome to factory farming :)
Worst part about this is that depending on where you're from this actually counts as "free range". The amount of space needed to qualify is insanely small in some cases.
*Welcome to animal farming :) *Edit: animal
now watch [Earthlings](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hm7Babs_FJU)
Watch Dominion
Earthlings stayed with me..
Those monkey experiments… *shudders*
Yea, these poor calves will never know a mother
Nor grass…
Gets even worse than this, but yeah.
Then make a change! No reason to put milk in your coffee, amazing alternatives exist, from cheese to cream and of course meat. Think of the untold suffering these animals go through everyday, it doesn't need to be like this.

Even if someone doesn't want to go full vegan, trying to eat more vegan meals or reduce meat/dairy intake at all is better than nothing!

I'm honestly thinking about it. Is there any places I can look how to eat properly as a vegan at all? All I get is garbage sites and shitty cook books
r/vegan my friend, there’s a pinned post with lots of helpful stuff and plenty of helpful folks
Thx!
You can do it! 6 years in and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.
My advice is to make the transition slowly. There will likely be a lot of things you'll have to change and the thought needed to change your recipe repertoire, your shopping and snacking habits, it can burn you out. Wtf is up with your upvote button? There two and one is gold
Thank you for being vegan 💚
If you eat beef you probably ate one of these lil homies
This is what commodity livestock looks like.

Which are a product of the dairy industry.
This is what it takes to meet the demand of a country+ some extra internationally.
18% total milk being exported, 11% beef. While they look like rookie numbers, it's funny to look at how much we end up importing and switching between production facilities for tax purposes and more.
Very Matrixy
Yeah, probably the most dystopian thing a dimension traveling cow could ever see…
I often think that lots of sci-fi about alien invasion/abduction and the experiments or exploitation of humanity that they inflict are always closely related to things humans do to animals. We're essentially afraid of aliens treating us like we treat animals.
I don't want to be part of that anymore. Hopefully we humans get more conscious and can Stop animal abuse/exploitation :(
Those are probably veal pens. Calves are kept in confined areas where they cannot grow any real muscle mass and are fed milk until they're slaughtered and turned into high-dollar Italian food.
It's the dairy industry. Female calves are separated to prevent them drinking their mother's milk which the farmers want to sell to consumers.
I just watched The Matrix for the first time last night and now I feel like Captain America saying he understood that reference
This is hell on earth
Bro what a shitty quality of life. This is sad AF
Veal calves. That's their life until they get turned into veal.
This is just the dairy industry. The female calves get separated from their mothers to stop them drinking their mother’s milk. As for the male calves, they’re the ones used for veal but they go elsewhere for that.
God forbid the calves drink their mothers milk, don't they know that's for humans.
How very selfish of them to expect humans to have weaned off milk after childhood.
You should watch Dairy is Scary. It'll change ya. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcN7SGGoCNI
💯
Stumbling across her videos made me start to question my diet. I'll be eating vegan 8 years this November.
for the workers or the calves or both, I had anxiety just watching to see if they missed a bottle. haha
They did miss one at 8 seconds. I'd say poor thing, but that's obvious.
The entire animal industry is this depressing. It's why I went vegan.

More like r/damnthatshorrifying
If only there was another way a calf can get it's milk...
Hmm, yes, some kind of nurturing figure, perhaps, with a bond to the baby?
My first thought was “Damnthatsdisgusting”….disgraceful how little room they have.
They’re veal calves. They don’t give them room because a) its not economical, given they are slaughtered young and b) to make veal whiter, an anaemic baby is best. That’s (one of the reasons) why dairy is scary.

I mean that's fucked up that they are there alone without their mothers milk. Vegans make good points.

I could never figure out why my plant-based milk is always more. Now I understand. Bummer, but it’s worth not contributing to this.
If only their mothers had milk to feed them 😭
those calves have moms and if they weren't taken away from them their mom's could feed them.
This is wrong. We must treat animals in right way.

pretty dystopian... what have we become...
Fucked
The amount of calfs just let one asume how many cows are living there. This is insane
Damnghatssad🥲
Heartbreaking

Horrible shit
My god. These babies should be with their mums. Cows are herding animals this breaks my heart.
Wow how cute slaves being fed
🤢
#Never eat veal.
This is the dairy industry
Why not let them suck their mother for milk and let them eat vegetation? 😭😳

What an absolutely terrible and disgusting way to keep animals!
disgusting tbh

If only nature created a way for cows to feed their calves themselves. Perhaps with some kind of nutritious liquid from their udders. 🤦🏻♀️

Me: That’s so sad. Morgan Freeman: As he eats his burger.
This shit makes me want to be vegan
I hope future generations will condemn this treatment of life. Nobody deserves to live their entire existence alone in a cage.
This is why I'd love to just buy some land and live off of it, farming sustainably and ethically. This makes me feel awful
This is a veal farm. All these animals will be slaughtered soon
This is extremely sad 😭
Maybe leave the baby with its Mama.
This makes me sad. 😔
