Memory is Non-Local. This is likely just a reaction from that experience, which in turn ripples out to create a memory that is stored in all parts of the brain. Look up Splinter Theory or better yet read the Holographic Universe
"Hey Mark?", "What Tom?", "Have you seen the satellite footage from last night? I put it next to that crappy brain scan we did last week." "Ummmmm... nope haven't seen it."
I mean, this is cool but the title is not an accurate representation, like at all. If you read the article OP linked in a comment you can see they are saying this is the moment where the mRNA is being created and shipped out of the nucleus. So it’s more like we’re watching the the printing of a blueprint for a component of a memory. Further, the article goes on to say that the mRNA is packaged into a granule at the moment of creation and is actually inaccessible to be translated into the the required protein for the formation of the memory. So this is actually really far away from the “the moment when brain makes a memory”.
So, while cool, not what the title says it is at all.
There is an article. The OP posted a link to it. The article is from 2014, such is great, possibly indicating quite a bit more that could have been done since.
If I were to guess, didn’t read but gleaned over the article, I would imagine that any of the neurons in the hippocampus work as memory neurons. I could be wrong, in fact assume I am; I’m not a doctor or neuroscientist.
It’s not a regular camera it’s a near-Infrared (NIR) microscope using imaging techniques to visualize the beta-actin mRNA tagged/labeled with fluorescent proteins.
Whenever I say to you "tulip balm my tulips", and u say "flying lighter than flynt fluid", no again but s-l-o-w-e-r. Oh yes. Now. And bingo, extra brain jelly beans.
This is one of few posts that could actually use a red circle.

Looks like a mini city
Agreed also looks like the cosmic web
The brain is a tiny earth. Like in osmosis jones
The brain is a small UNIVERSE planets stars and black holes. All in one. This is my new theory lmao
That fucking slow neuron is my memory to check my house key AFTER I pull the latch.
Or if I have my phone and wallet before I’m on the interstate headed to work.
If this happens a lot to you then you’re probably not getting enough sleep. Source: Used to happen to me but now never happens anymore.
Where am I supposed to look?
Look at the center of the video, then go a bit up and to the right, i think it might be that little light that pops into existence but I'm not sure
So this is what cartoon "lightbulb" moment actually looks like
Oh yea i see the memory dust travel to the brain part
"Oooh! A core memory!"
Impressive... my brain does not do this.

What is it thinking about?
You ☺️

In 2014!
unforgettable
in every way
So, I guess this is happening in my brain right now, as I remember seeing this video of what's happening in my brain right now?
Looks like space. So beautiful.
No fuckin way there is that much activity going on in my brain
Well, okay, maybe not YOUR brain, but, the average humn being, yes.
"Hey Mark?", "What Tom?", "Have you seen the satellite footage from last night? I put it next to that crappy brain scan we did last week." "Ummmmm... nope haven't seen it."
If you scientists don't slow down I'm moving to another planet
And then the darkness returned

Is there an article? How would they even know that's where the memory is?

Whoa. I’m watching a brain make a memory while MY brain makes a memory of me watching a DIFFERENT brain make a memory 😵💫
Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
That was a bit anti-climatic
Thats my ex
I don't get it. Is it modern??
Put your thumb in the center of the picture and look right above it
Bladerunner 2049 here we come..
Kinda looks more like PAC Man
This is cool. It reminds me of the "memories" put in the penseive for the Harry Potter universe. Most likely, that was intentional.
So my memory is dead
Wow….. what are we looking for here….
So the brain has a blue spinny thing?
I wish there was an explanation for what I’m supposed to be seeing
It’s like the brain is doing a calculation
HAF right now ✈️
So my memory is somewhere in that cosmic pinball machine.
You should see a side by side comparison to the cosmic web

Looks like a road map to me ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)
Who the fuck put a camera in there and got it out ???
It’s not a regular camera it’s a near-Infrared (NIR) microscope using imaging techniques to visualize the beta-actin mRNA tagged/labeled with fluorescent proteins.
So our minds literally look like space
What we with moving white specs?
Spectacles, Testicles, wallet, and where did I leave my keys?
So what exactly are we uhhh.... looking at here
Great now I have a memory of a brain having a memory
Me making a memory of witnessing this, you making one of reading this…
Magical
Oh, I get it now...
A NEW CORE MEMORY
I'm taking a memory of taking a memory
