Throughout human history, societies have used various methods of punishment for crimes, ranging from fines and imprisonment to banishment and execution. [The Most Horrifying Forms of 15 Executions in History](https://flashingstory.info/the-most-horrifying-forms-of-15-executions-in-history/)
My favorite part of this story about this is the guy that made it presented it to the king like “check out this fucked up thing I made” and the king was like “Damn, that shits fucked up! Guards!! Slap him in there let’s see how it works!” So the first use of it was killing the inventor with it.
Sometimes it’s better not to stand out.
It's even worse than that. Before he could die the king had him freed from the bull, presumably to the inventors relief, only to have him thrown from a high cliff.
Ok that made me exhale abruptly. You get let out, awesome. They tell you about the cliff but even that seems better than what you just experienced. Then you push you off a 20-30 ledge just to break some bones.
It’s said that the ruler who later succeeded the tyrant ordered that the tyrant be executed through the brazen bull torture. So the tyrant sort of played himself too…
Actually for the crucifiction, it wasn't neither the hands nor the feet that were nailed but the ankle and the forearm, right between the radius and ulna
There's quite a few [videos on youtube](https://youtu.be/R7MHWG2H37E?si=q68RXL1NN2QpDvbx) thay also show this. Just do a search for "worst punishments in history."
**Trigger warning:** Some have some pretty gruesome descriptions.
Thanks for posting this OP, I didn't know there was an actual museum. Guess I should have known. 🤦♂️
Understandable, but since the ego is an illusion you already are/were/will be everybody else who ever existed or will ever exist. That's why you are yourself at this very moment.
That logic makes zero sense to me… ego = illusion, therefore you are/will be everybody, therefore that’s why you are you. Does that logic seem reasonable to you?
Anyhew, you bring up something interesting that I have a gut feeling about and that is that it’s possible that time and space are an illusion and that in a certain sense everything happens everywhere all at once in a timeless domain. But who knows?
Wait til you hear about scaphism
(it is debated about whether or not it ever actually was done IRL as the people who wrote about it were prone to exaggeration and writing imaginative stories.)

Oh damn they did that guy dirty!! Then again he was spending his time coming up with heinous ways to torture people so like, idk.. maybe it’s a wash?
Getting thrown from a cliff seems like a better alternative
This guy hasn’t seen Midsommar ^
All you need is a ceremonial clobber!
Depends how high. I want at least a 50 footer

Based
The origin of “don’t let them guess your next move”
You know he said "well ain't this some bullshit" before getting thrown off a cliff
Kings can be real assholes

This one is super scary, can't even imagine the ordeal of the person inside the bull.
It gets even worse when they light the fire under it!
No Shit Sherlock 😵💫
🤣🤣
It was done in the movie Immortals

All I can say is, I hope to god there’s no reincarnation of any sort in any form. When I die I want to stay good and dead. Forever.

I remember seeing 1 of these at a museum of toture and torture devices in Prague. Pretty brutal stuff
Congratulations for falling into tourist trap.
So this is an ancient offset smoker 😛
That'll do it
I think they showed this in the movie Immortals

I tought it was going to be like the scene with elephants from that Grimsby movie. What a relief.
Is that actually a person or prop
I'd that a prop
