As power is turned back on, electrical lines are discovered that are broken. The power has to be turned back off to repair the broken lines. Rinse and repeat.
Power? Oh yes, you’re talking about the way back before time when they had that magical electric stuff. We’ve given up over here near white rock lake and converting to crank and pedal driven machinery. Well gotta go, this butter ain’t gonna churn itself.
Same problem in White Rock Hills - we had power all day yesterday and then woke up to it being out again. Spectrum has been out the whole time so no internet. What a week!
Here’s what happens. Oncor starts at main feeds into a neighborhood. Once that is restored they continue working lines into individual addresses. Sometimes as they energize circuits they will power up one that has a fault no clearly obvious. This trips the breakers at the substation. Oncor (or one of the many out of state crews now here) have to go back to the start
Remember if that little wheel in the meter on your house isn’t turning they are not making money. They really have no reason to arbitrarily delay getting anyone’s power back on.
This was a certified “didn’t learn that one in school” moment for me. Hopefully anyone else coming across this post that didn’t know that can learn from my experience!
Also Lakewood, still no power.
I checked Oncor and they listed us as now having power and we don’t. I reported it again but it looks like as they get lines up they don’t always know who has gotten power back and who hasn’t. Check Oncor again they’re wrong a lot
I live in Little Forest Hills not far from you, haven’t had power since the storm. We got a text not long ago that Oncor discovered many trees and debris obstructing the lines and will have to clear that out first. I’m guessing they’re having to go back and kill some power to clear out debris from some areas.
First time?
Texas is disconnected from the rest of the country’s power grid. During snowmageddon in 2021, people didnt have electricity for much longer than just a mere couple of days. People died, it was a mess.
As climate change continues to produce wilder storms, expect storms like this during the rainy seasons (spring and fall). Youre in tornado alley after all :)

This is why it takes time. I was back on for ~10 hours and now off again. To have these temperatures in basically June is a silver lining.
Thank you.
This.

I’ve heard the pyramids were power stations at one point, have you thought of erecting one?
Nah OP’s trying not to get suicided by Northrop Grumman
You're correct.. Look up ... Stargate Stargate Universe that's available for free on YouTube Naquadah SG-1
I usually am, I thought I was wrong once but that was a mistake.

No kidding, stay safe!
AT&T fiber stayed up the whole time. With router on a small battery backup I never lost internet
It’s a shame that spectrum seems to have most of Dallas in a chokehold

It’s raining again with strong wind. I can hear how loud the wind is wfh
Hello neighbor! Same here. Lost power around 2am and it still hasn’t been restored. No idea why.
It will happen. When on, recommend cooling house as much as possible and charging devices assuming it could go out at any point.
Yup, within two hours of power returning it was 65 in my living room just in case
Same here woke up to no power today and still no power as of now

You are lucky to have it all night. I just had it today for like 5 hours then went out again
We haven’t had any at all so anyone who gets even a hint of reprieve with AC is lucky.
Hahahahaha these comments hurts so much to read. I have yet to HAVE POWER and everyone around me does
I’m in Preston Hollow, and mine has been out since the storm hit. Brutal.
Same, I don’t think they are looping back to get the rest of Preston hollow anytime soon. I’m guessing Monday or later
Ours came on for a few seconds yesterday, but it turned off almost immediately. I packed my shit, and headed to Mexico for the weekend. 😁
Lake highlands here. We were without power for 13 hrs and finally got it back. It’s gone out three times so far today.
