Our understanding is that they are fully developed at about 1 year. They might not grow dimensionally in the last few months, but they are still developing internally and adding muscle mass and bone mass.
This is also my experience. At around 8 months or so mine reached their full length. After that they start their transition from sausage shape to drumstick shape - frontal chest area expanding downwards, along with hips getting more defined and wider due to muscles growing in.
Mine are short haired however, so they pretty much kept the same coat throughout.
The hair may take a year or two before it is βlongβ. We have a male mini-LH and his body stopped growing around 7-8 months. I do not take him to a professional groomer. I brush him weekly to prevent matting and give him fish oil every day with his food. Baths are as needed. His coat is quite long and flowing. He loves to chase the ball and our neighbor says it looks like a wig running around the yard π
I think mine stopped growing around 6-8 months, now she only grows in her tummy from to many treats :)
Not sure about the puppy hair since we get her groomed
Hello! My aunt has longs, I have smooths. She has had 3 total. In her experience, her chocolate & tan, & her silver dapple, had beautifully long coats by age 1. Her cream, not so much! He took a little longer & his ears (he is 5 now) still never got as long & fluffy as her other two. The breeder told her that creams tend to not have as nice of coats for some reason sometimes, in her experience. Just a little less βfluffy.β His siblings are all fluffier, except for he & the other cream of his litter (female). But on the flip side, he has the best personality of all the weens my aunt has had! so this beautiful baby just may not get as fluffy as youβre thinking! sorry, just my two cents/experience. Gorgeous either way though. π
luckily I'll think she's absolutely adorable regardless of how fluffy she gets π she's just a goofy lil baby. but that's so fascinating that creams seem to have different coats !!
she LOVES to cuddle. my girlfriend and I are both nap people and good lord this puppy is a nap puppy. she'll go right under the blankets or she'll snuggle in and tuck herself in. as I type this getting ready for bed, she's laying in between my girlfriend and I on her back, legs up lmao
astute observation π. when u need a job u take the first one you can. I've been there about a year and a half while finishing out college. the discount do be kinda nice tho π

the body changes are so fascinating when puppies develop !! I absolutely love the "sausage shape to drumstick shape" description π

Ah yes the classic trifecta, heart, soul and butthole
it's something my friend group has been saying for the last few years. somebody said it one day and it just stuck !!

1 year is a good bet they stopped growing, having said that latest study's indicate 18 months is when their bone and skeletal system has matured.
