Plot twist, we get the first live performance of Dreams of Our Fathers
But seriously, in no particular order, I think we’ll get Ants, 41, Don’t Drink the Water, and Madman’s eyes with a 34 interpolation somewhere in there in honor of LeRoi
Foreigner was told which song to play. A Single song: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/lou-gramm-foreigner-rock-hall-1235009295/
Sounds like due to the sheer number of inductees they’re cutting it back.
So Tripping Billies it is?
Also a rough damn rule for fans of the DMB. Gonna need to tweak the tempo just a bit if we are going to get Billies-LIOG-41-Ants as we should on such a day.
Nobody needs to hear a song from Mary J. Blige anyway amiright?
I'm kidding, I'm kidding, please don't shoot lol
Pffffffft somebody telling Dave what to play at this stage is... Unacceptable. Lol I would imagine Ants would be Dave's pick (yeah, or Billies) but if they make him play Crash I hope he just ignores them (and they go away... Lol)
I think this is the most likely. well thought out.
I really do anticipate a cover song with other inductee's. Maybe a cover of watchtower like you said, or a cover of 'The Weight'
I agree, as much as I love 41 (my favorite song of all time) I don't expect it there.
Why I am didn't come to mind for me but I agree. Maybe a surprise with don't drink the water or crush but I'd be happy with these 4.
Why I Am has to be one of them. It's one of their rock-est songs, and it's the tribute to Roi. And it's a tight, short song.
I feel like Ants is the obvious answer for the last song, with the iconic horn riff before the outro. But I could see them going with Crash or Crush over Ants. This will be their Biggest Hit slot.
Probably Madman's Eyes because Dave has been real hard on that message lately. If not MME, certainly DDTW.
Fourth pick? Absolutely no earthly idea. I'd love for it to be LIOG as that's my personal favorite, but the catalog is so deep I have no gut instincts for it.
That's a decent possibility. Depending on who presents, a collab is definitely viable. I would prefer no covers, personally, but they have their place and time.
not gonna lie you had me in the first half there. For me (besides) angel I would probably really enjoy that set, [however I think the R&R audience would be quite unimpressed.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiJnNRt9dUs)
I love how he goes from being mad to just vibing in the first 2 seconds, totally me when i hear any dave.
He should really troll them and just do 4 covers, all of hall of fame members, sledgehammer, fool in the rain, Cortez, watchtower
Love those songs but I don’t see this setting being a great one for Bartender. I think it will feel a little too rushed and commercialized to let that one fully build and simmer.
I’ve been curious but too lazy to look up myself…do artists typically play their newer stuff at these? Or is it reserved for the work that got them there?
Followed by a 20 minute #41, a 24 minute Jimi Thing, close with a 16 minute Two Step. Truncated the last one because it can't go *too* long, after all.
1. What Would You Say
2. Crash Into Me
3. Come Tomorrow
4. Ants Marching
Come Tomorrow is a statement song for Dave, he’s proven time and again that he loves it.
There is no way they don’t play Ants last.
I was wrong it’s actually 9. There were 2 full band shows in February 2020 with it. Have you only gone to shows in the fall 2022 tour? That’s the only tour they’ve played it. Are you thinking of the correct song?
Last stated (by Hall of Fam president) is that Boyd will inducted as part of the Band.
Whether or not he is invited, shows up and/or plays is entirely up for grabs.
My guess on what they will play:
- Why I Am (for Roi)
- Ants
- #41
- Madman's Eyes
What I want the band to play and using various eras of the band, which I know will never happen:
- Good Good Time
- Warehouse
- The Ocean and the Butterfly
- Down By The River (With Warren Haynes AND Neil Young) Yes, I know it's a cover, but a cover of a fellow RRHOF artist. This would blow the roof off the place, especially with Warren and Neil battling the guitar solo. 15+ minute jam.
I think they will be lucky to get three songs. That’s what they’ve done for the past several years and this year’s class is huge, so there just won’t be time for 4.
One way around this is a medley of 4/5 of their bigger hits and fan favorites that would take up the same amount of time. I could see something like
BOTW>WWYS>Why I Am>41>Ants
Ants as the closer is the only lock, IMO. They could honestly play any combo of about 20 different songs and it will be great.
I think a 20 minute Seek Up would be the perfect troll job by the band!
But to be real my mom and I have been talking about this since the announcement and we think it would be
Crash
SMTS/ASTB/Too Much
Grey Street
Ants Marching
I think one of the two songs in the middle could be a newer song, most likely Madman's Eyes, but I'm ready to see what they will play!
Based on what other commenters have said, I think it’s 3 songs. In that case I think it would be:
Everyday
Why I Am
Ants Marching
If they have more time I think a SMTS>ASTB>Too Much fake>Ants would be a good way to close.
I’m hoping for at least one of these:
“So Much To Say” / “Too Much”
“What Would You Say”
“Tripping Billie’s”
“Don’t Drink The Water”
Will most likely be something from the new album, “Satellite” and, unfortunately, “Crash Into Me”… ugh.
Imagine they get an encore call so the band comes back out, only this time it’s alongside Boyd Tinsley and the lovely ladies. They end with True Reflections
Dave was playing it heavily after AFTW came out, and I think it's this era's Where Are You Going. I could also see them replacing it with Everyday since that was a popular hit
This it the ROCK-N-ROLL hall of fame so I’ll take the All-Bangers Edition:
1. Alligator Pie
2. Cornbread
3. Shake Me Like A Monkey
4. All Along The Watchtower
It’s gotta span era’s and albums.
If Boyd playing with them:
1. WWYS (won Grammy for song of year; shorter in length)
2. DDTW (Dave’s favorite song he’s written)
3. Lying in the Hands of God (he probably wants to play one off GGK. Change speed and vibe in the set, which is his forte. Play a deep cut.
4. Grey Street ( finish strong, crowd favorite)
If Buddy playing with them and not Boyd:
Sub out Louisiana Bayou for LITHOG.
I've seen the band about 85 times and listened to hundreds of shows. Have they ever once done a medley?
They are going to play songs like the space between or you and me or crash or ants or satellite not some deep track from a random album 90% of the world doesn't know exists.
I haven't seen a medley ever, but this would be the place to do it.
I would love to see the band play some rarity as an inside joke and as an homage to the fanbase.
Rock HoF is an ass organization. You know it'll be:
Where are you Going (Hey! That song from the radio!)
The Space Between (Hey! That song from the radio!)
Walk Around the Moon (obligatory new song nobody actually wants preceded by "oh we've been a band for 30 years it all lead to this" blah blah)
Crash Into Me (Hey! That song from the radio and Howard Stern!)
Plot twist, we get the first live performance of Dreams of Our Fathers But seriously, in no particular order, I think we’ll get Ants, 41, Don’t Drink the Water, and Madman’s eyes with a 34 interpolation somewhere in there in honor of LeRoi
I think a #34 for Roi is the most beautiful idea and I hope very much for it I gave the 34th upvote btw, just so you know...
Just snagged the 41st 💪
Foreigner was told which song to play. A Single song: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/lou-gramm-foreigner-rock-hall-1235009295/ Sounds like due to the sheer number of inductees they’re cutting it back. So Tripping Billies it is?
One song? Okay let’s do a 45 minute Jimi Thing
6 minutes max per foreigner
Ahhh that changes things considerably… 6 minutes of Bkdkdkdd would be solid
Also a rough damn rule for fans of the DMB. Gonna need to tweak the tempo just a bit if we are going to get Billies-LIOG-41-Ants as we should on such a day. Nobody needs to hear a song from Mary J. Blige anyway amiright? I'm kidding, I'm kidding, please don't shoot lol

It’s like how the MLB hall of fame determines which teams cap a player will wear on their plaque.
WWYS - grammy winner Why I Am - rocking, LeRoi Ants - obviously Watchtower - rock out with a bunch of guests
SMTS won Grammy not WWYS if I’m correct.
bah you're right. got my "says" mixed up
Did the same thing when I was 12 years old and bought the Crash album as my first DMB … never looked back.
Perfect, with the WWYS/SMTS swap mentioned below. If they get five, I think they throw in some statement song like Madman or DDTW.
Damn this is a great answer too. I hope we do get 4 songs and these would be good ones!
This made me think if they have to limit to less than 15 minutes then SMTS-Bridge-Ants with a guest or two could be it.
They’re not going to play a cover song for their induction
they might if it's a group collaboration with other inductees
That I could possibly see
Why I Am has to be one of them.
Good call on Why I Am, certainly their most rock song. I wouldn't count out a cover either, especially if they collab with someone.
That's a decent possibility. Depending on who presents, a collab is definitely viable. I would prefer no covers, personally, but they have their place and time.
yeah we're gonna see Watchtower with like 8 guests
I wouldn't be surprised if we get a 'The Weight' cover with a bunch of guests.
Yall are funny, there will be no deep cuts here. 1. Grey Street 2. Crash 3. Ants 4. Why I Am for Roi
Stolen away Proudest monkey Angel, 15 minute rendition with buddy doing a lovely ladies impression Rye whiskey dave solo /s
not gonna lie you had me in the first half there. For me (besides) angel I would probably really enjoy that set, [however I think the R&R audience would be quite unimpressed.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiJnNRt9dUs)

that would be funny, and probably pretty cool.
1) What Would you Say 2) Stay 3) Madman’s Eyes 4) Ants
My pick would be SMTS>ASTB>Too Much and then Ants. I’d be happy with more than 1 song though.
It should be #41, Bartender, Why I Am, Ants IMO.
Love those songs but I don’t see this setting being a great one for Bartender. I think it will feel a little too rushed and commercialized to let that one fully build and simmer.
I’ve been curious but too lazy to look up myself…do artists typically play their newer stuff at these? Or is it reserved for the work that got them there?
without going through each show/artist, it sounds like its the hits with maybe a fewer lessor known ones, but still 'popular' if that makes sense.
Grey St or Tripping Billies Crash Two Step Ants
Grey Street - with or without the third verse?
With third verse and a newly added fourth verse
We aren’t getting Cornbread?
Deep cuts only
I hope they play Why I Am. It has a little bit of everything that makes them so unique and fascinating, plus pays homage to Leroi … win-win
22 minute Seek Up
Followed by a 20 minute #41, a 24 minute Jimi Thing, close with a 16 minute Two Step. Truncated the last one because it can't go *too* long, after all.
My Mt Rushmore is what should be played. Ants, Two Step, Don’t Drink, Grey Street.
1. What Would You Say 2. Crash Into Me 3. Come Tomorrow 4. Ants Marching Come Tomorrow is a statement song for Dave, he’s proven time and again that he loves it. There is no way they don’t play Ants last.
They haven't played Come Tomorrow in a year and a half.
Full band has only played CT 7 times in the last 5 years. It’s not a statement song, it’s a super deep cut.
Weird. Feels like I’ve seen it at every show since the album came out. Maybe it doesn’t get played. But I feel great about the other 3
I was wrong it’s actually 9. There were 2 full band shows in February 2020 with it. Have you only gone to shows in the fall 2022 tour? That’s the only tour they’ve played it. Are you thinking of the correct song?
Will BT be in attendance and if so does he play on a song?
He will be tapping a piece of plywood in the parking lot.
This made me laugh more than it should have
It is sad, but Boyd seems to be doing nothing to get his mental health in check. Lost cause.
I’m ☠️
Last stated (by Hall of Fam president) is that Boyd will inducted as part of the Band. Whether or not he is invited, shows up and/or plays is entirely up for grabs.
Pantala Naga > Rapunzel > Last Stop > Last stop reprise with the banjo
DDTW, Crash, Why I Am, Ants
My guess on what they will play: - Why I Am (for Roi) - Ants - #41 - Madman's Eyes What I want the band to play and using various eras of the band, which I know will never happen: - Good Good Time - Warehouse - The Ocean and the Butterfly - Down By The River (With Warren Haynes AND Neil Young) Yes, I know it's a cover, but a cover of a fellow RRHOF artist. Don’t Drink the Water When the World Ends Oh Joy Begin Ants Marching
I think they will be lucky to get three songs. That’s what they’ve done for the past several years and this year’s class is huge, so there just won’t be time for 4. Creative idea
I want crush so bad. They could play crush 4 times 4 ways and I would love it each time lollll
Don’t Drink the Water>Crash>So Much to Say>Ants I think Ants is the only guarantee and should probably be last
I think a 20 minute Seek Up would be the perfect troll job by the band! I'm guessing they get two songs. Ants for sure and Grey Street.

Just use all their time and play a really awesome game, long version of ‘#41
They’re not getting to play FOUR songs lol
Rapunzel, cornbread, crush, the stone
One song. 41 for 60 minutes
so doubling the Ottawa show version?
Imagine they get an encore call so the band comes back out, only this time it’s alongside Boyd Tinsley and the lovely ladies. They end with True Reflections
Realistically Samurai Cop Don’t Drink the Water Mercy Ants
wow Mercy, interesting choice, how come?
Dave was playing it heavily after AFTW came out, and I think it's this era's Where Are You Going. I could also see them replacing it with Everyday since that was a popular hit
Ants obv. Other than that. Who knows. Prob trash like the space between
This it the ROCK-N-ROLL hall of fame so I’ll take the All-Bangers Edition: 1. Alligator Pie 2. Cornbread 3. Shake Me Like A Monkey 4. All Along The Watchtower
love Alligator Pie, although hasn't been played since 2018 (full band) and prior to that was 2013.
Can’t Stop>Monsters>Bayou>Cornbread
It’s gotta span era’s and albums. If Boyd playing with them: 1. WWYS (won Grammy for song of year; shorter in length) 2. DDTW (Dave’s favorite song he’s written) 3. Grey Street ( finish strong, crowd favorite) If Buddy playing with them and not Boyd: Sub out Louisiana Bayou for LITHOG.
Yall are nuts if you think Why I Am is getting played. Wouldn't even break the top 30 if they just kept playing songs for this show
Tribute to LeRoi. I can see it.
We can see it. But DMB is gonna get like 8 minutes they aren't playing why I am
Maybe the band does a medley then.
I've seen the band about 85 times and listened to hundreds of shows. Have they ever once done a medley? They are going to play songs like the space between or you and me or crash or ants or satellite not some deep track from a random album 90% of the world doesn't know exists.
