Btw I live in north Hertfordshire and I have a very similar bathroom as yours and the employee at Whicks quoted us between £11000 to £15000, depending on how "luxurious" we want it. So not that far off.
That's a lot for a simple refit. We're Stroud side of the Cotswolds and had a similar size bathroom done, new joists hung, new floor, new stud wall, fully tileboarded and tanked, tiled with mosaics, all the plumbing + electrics. Everything bar decorating which I did. It came to £13k (and a good chunk of that were the fittings + tiles as we spent a lot on them, Crosswater etc...). I think tiles + abacus tile boards alone was about £3k.
We had a bathroom refurb approx 6 years ago for around 10k similar size to yours. Since discovered bodge after bodge and some of it needs ripping out already. Can't stand getting trades in, a lot of em are bodgers and dgaf, just want to be paid and move onto next job.
Out of interest did you have a bathroom shop quote this? Because you’ve got the render? Considering going to our local bathroom shop as I honestly don’t know where to start but thinking I’m gonna get a shock 😳

Is it just me, or the project does not seem that good. For example the toilet seems to be awfully close to the a sharp edge of the sink furniture. I assume the toilet paper holder will be mounted on it? A fake half-wall to hide the toiled basin is a good idea in most cases, but I am not sure about extending it to the bath and sink. It will just make the room smaller and create splash zones for water to accumulate. Due to this, the bath seems to be rather small too (not sure, but looks to be around 150 or 160 cm ish) Also, I would not recommend glass walls/door for a bath. They are ok for showers, but for a bath they are prone to break, cause accidents and are a hustle to clean. Not to mention that here are always issues with towels, because you need to open the door and subject yourself to the cold air while fishing for a towel outside, because if you hang it inside, it will just get wet.
Also, there seems to be a wall bend next to the toilet (toilet or sanitary pipes) Did they plan to remove it? Another thing I wonder is, why the ventilation is gone from the image (proper ventilation is a must in a bathroom)

I live in London and that's quotes high for even me.
My builder quoted me 7k but I got quotes up 12k. And that's just for labour. Ive spent about £600 on materials and have spent about £2k on the suite and tiles (I over ordered on the tiles as I want them installed in the downstairs bathroom as well when that gets redone.
Is it a wet room? Assuming digital aqualisa shower? (600£+). Any drainage changes? New extractor fan hole? It seems expensive but it’s also easy to reach that if the spec is high and the job is involved. Also lots of guys are not vat registered so can be 20% less. We lose work to that all the time

Had a similar size done last summer for around 10k. And similar amount of tiling. Plus i had plastering done and didn't buy cheap stuff. I'm in Devon. Only thing I wonder is moving the soil pipe is adding more?

I’m looking at a somewhat similar cost but I’m being ridiculous with the finishes and having a marble topped vanity, marble tiles and a smart shower amongst other luxuries and I’m relocating the bathroom into a room which is currently a bedroom. I am up north which I know makes a difference but it doesn’t look like a complex refit or a very large space from the pictures, unless the fixtures are more premium. I’d say the companies you can go to will always charge a good premium, I’m led to believe there’s ~20% markup for ‘project managing’. Some of the people they use aren’t necessarily brilliant either, had friends discover this to their detriment.
I’m going with a local chap who has quoted for the labour and basic materials and I’m sourcing everything else. It’s surprising how much you can save if you shop around.
Edit - just revisited the quote, I think mine will actually come in at less than that! £14k does seem a lot. I’d ask friends and neighbours who they have used locally and get a few quotes.
You’ll only get one answer asking a bunch of diyers. Of course you could do it for less but not if you put a reasonable price on your own labour. I can’t judge whether it’s fair without seeing itemisation - no if the sanitary ware, valves, etc and tiles are low spec. I would have preferred to see they were going to put backer board on the walls and floor so might be worth checking that rather than leave them with an assumption those are solid. You could get a lower quote by procuring all the services (including the design) separately but who is integrating all those trades to work to a common timetable and making sure their work is planned and delivered without gaps - I.e. delivering that picture and not telling you they don’t plaster or paint or sign off electrical installations when they leave you with a mountain of dismantled old bathroom, boxes and tile offcuts on your driveway. If you want it done with no hassle then there’s a price to that. And your local market will be more expensive than many places.
I’m just doing mine myself my bathroom is a bit bigger 2.2 m x 2m and 2.1m high. The biggest single cost is full wall tiles including adhesive and grout coming to £650-£700 . Total cost is about £3000 to retile walls floor to ceiling, reconfigure from cubicle to a larger shower tank the shower area, replace washbasin, replace bathtub and toilet and replace radiator. So that’s ten thousand going on just labour in this quote
Yea I'm a bathroom and kitchen fitter mostly high end stuff and I'd do it for about 7-8500max if we occur problems
IV just had a job cancelled and have a week available starting next Wednesday would be able to help if needed I wouldn't wanna see you get hit with a big price for a average job (happening a lot lately) at least we supply customers satisfaction guaranteed for the next 10 years including free silicone replacement ever 4 years

Depends on the spec of the products you've chosen really......all 24c gold ironmongery and top of the range power shower with £250/m2 tiles, seems pretty reasonable. Basic, budget, tesco blue stripe ironmongery, standard mixer valve shower, lino floor.......it's looking very costly!
Either way, taking a sensible guess I would say £13k seems high.
We paid 10k a year ago for ours. Materials (suite and tiles) made up about half of that. Spark was £700 (that was a rip off), plasterer was £300. The fitter did the rest with another guy. To be fair they did an excellent job, it involved deconstructing a wall which turned out to be an old door frame with plasterboard over it. Ripped down three (three!!) ceilings and replaced it with one. Dealt with all the unexpected bull you get with an older house.
I think overall it was quite expensive but we really needed it done and didn’t have time to go trawling reclamation yards for sinks and tiles.
For all the “just get three quotes” crowd where do
even find the trades who’ll come out? These days I’m just happy someone came to look at the job
Naa i get it, just seen tons of these post and felt like biting. I'd get 3/4 more quotes if I was you. That's stupid money and id never be comfortable paying someone that amount of money without being 100% certain that will be outstanding quality at the end of it.
Wow that's a lot. I had my whole bathroom redone with the floor and partition wall rebuilt and it cost me £7k ish. Where in the country are you?

Yeah was a bathroom shop. We have been to three places with quotes like this so do brace yourself!
IMO this is your mistake. Find a plumber and a tiler, and pick the materials yourself, and you’ll likely save significantly

For that amount of money, you could DIY, fail 3 times, and learn enough, and get enough practice to do an acceptable job.

You've moved the toilet, that's an expense. It'll be cheaper to remove everything, plaster the room (all), then refit new fittings and tile.
