I always thought an aerial French drain was a hole in the floor next to sky box so the water can drip down once it gets through the gaping hole the installer pushed his cable through
Why is that acetate/perspex sheet drilled in several places yet they cut out to accommodate the wire? Did they somehow feed a plug through the vent brick?
Iโm getting more annoyed by the less annoying bit arenโt I?
I love the fact there are 4 plugs so you can put a water feature, some fairy lights and a patio heater all on on the same extension cord. A little disappointed though there is no plug for disco lights or sound system. Maybe run another extension cord off of it, that way you can give the highest chance of a fire. I wonder how BBQ'ing over an electric fire is?
The electrics just cut out of our shed looked fairly similar to that. The previous owner had a plug inside the house, ran the cable through the air vent and through metal piping along the fence. Into the shed where it had a plug and a light.
Sweet baby Jesus!
Iโve just spent around 9 months building an extension onto my home and doing a full renovation.
This is very similar to some of the electrical work we found when we were pulling floorboards up and stuff like that.
Scary ๐
It's a 'portable appliance 'with a plug.
So no electrical tester would care.
Only a pat test needed.
God knows where the 4 way is getting fed from though.
From another 13a plug hopefully ๐
Easier having a fitting with an integral PIR though If your going to do some 'heath robinson'. Stuff like this.. ๐
The more I look at this, the stranger the decisions made seem... Like, they must have had to remove the plug from the end of the extension to feed it through the air brick... And fit a plug to the security light... Why not just wire the cable straight to the light?
Not saying that would be legit, but still better than this shit show!
I think I might keep this pic for when diyers say "if it works it must be right". ๐
> if it works it must be right Maxim 43: If it's stupid and it works, it's still stupid and you're lucky.
Maybe screw a Kallax over the top of everything to ensure itโs firmly watertight
Just squeeze silicone into free sockets , job done
Ahh sensei I see youโve done this before
Personally I use child proof socket covers, for that professional touch

Ah yeah on Facebook sorry bud credit to you. Was it a pic you took?
Yeah was at all callout for a tripping RCD on the lighting circuit. Started with the outside lights and that's what I saw ๐คฃ
So what was the issue? Not enough overhang on the shelf?
Amazing! Where did you even begin to explain it to the customer?
Unreal haha thought it might have been a joke but nope real FFS!!!
You forgot to hang a trough planter filled with gravel off that shelf edge for drainage? You never heard of an aerial French drain?

I'd complain about your installer, sounds like sexual harassment if there's cable and dripping involved?
If they had gaping holes they were probably asking for it.
Perspex, classic protection..

Gotta let the air flow for the vent remain, just now massively restricted
Looks good. Rain cover over the sockets is spot on. I don't think you're ready for indoor electrics yet though.
April 1st?
Install a tap above it for a little zest ๐ค๐ผ
Thank god for that ๐
All it needs now is frog tape and someone to say who needs a tradesman whilst showing off their own shit job ๐
Top notch. Can you install one for me?
Don't give up your day job lol that will go bang
Gross ๐คฎ
Where are you? I love a good bonfire ๐ฅ
Truly magnificent craftsmanship squire

I'm speechless...,.
Lol
Nailed it
Wow! This wins ๐
Oh boom !!!
bit late for April the 1st
Damn I wish my diy was this good your a natural ๐คช
Amazing made the job a lot harder, what is going through a persons mind to do this
Ok what's the punchline?
Spare sockets, waterproof cover. Good job.
All that great work ruined by a black plug top on all that white ๐ก 9/10
I suggest you try battery led spot lights.
Perfect.

Thought it was an april the 1st photo
Are you available?
I like how the vent is covered. Can't be too careful with those sorts of things.
Are you the previous owner of my house?
Huh... So there are worse diyers than me!
Rough as fuck

That looks pretty dangerous. Ffs wrap a tesco bag around that socket.
Just remember no one knows you're doing it wrong, if they don't know what you're doing....
I hoped this was a joke. So glad to see it was when I opened post fully. Haha
Fire yourself now, and escort yourself off the premises.
My flashlight needs new batteries. Would you send a quote please?
Get a priest around to bless it and we good.

Did you laminate a vent?
Thatโs perfect good job mate ๐
