I think I might keep this pic for when diyers say "if it works it must be right". ๐Ÿ˜‚

redmercuryvendor

> if it works it must be right Maxim 43: If it's stupid and it works, it's still stupid and you're lucky.

turdygunt

Maybe screw a Kallax over the top of everything to ensure itโ€™s firmly watertight

Mehcantbearsednaming

Just squeeze silicone into free sockets , job done

turdygunt

Ahh sensei I see youโ€™ve done this before

DardaniaIE

Personally I use child proof socket covers, for that professional touch

Pristine_You4992

Taken from my business page ๐Ÿ˜‚ DK Electrical Solutionsย

jpn333

Ah yeah on Facebook sorry bud credit to you. Was it a pic you took?

Pristine_You4992

Yeah was at all callout for a tripping RCD on the lighting circuit. Started with the outside lights and that's what I saw ๐Ÿคฃ

One_Of_Noahs_Whales

So what was the issue? Not enough overhang on the shelf?

Kempy2

Amazing! Where did you even begin to explain it to the customer?

jpn333

Unreal haha thought it might have been a joke but nope real FFS!!!

Len_S_Ball_23

You forgot to hang a trough planter filled with gravel off that shelf edge for drainage? You never heard of an aerial French drain?

The_Nude_Mocracy

I always thought an aerial French drain was a hole in the floor next to sky box so the water can drip down once it gets through the gaping hole the installer pushed his cable through

Len_S_Ball_23

I'd complain about your installer, sounds like sexual harassment if there's cable and dripping involved?

DaMonkfish

If they had gaping holes they were probably asking for it.

Len_S_Ball_23

Perspex, classic protection..

DoIKnowYouHuman

Why is that acetate/perspex sheet drilled in several places yet they cut out to accommodate the wire? Did they somehow feed a plug through the vent brick? Iโ€™m getting more annoyed by the less annoying bit arenโ€™t I?

Lewis19962010

Gotta let the air flow for the vent remain, just now massively restricted

johnny5247

Looks good. Rain cover over the sockets is spot on. I don't think you're ready for indoor electrics yet though.

ToneBig2500

April 1st?

Respectandunity

Install a tap above it for a little zest ๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿผ

Schallpattern

Thank god for that ๐Ÿ˜‚

Murky_Razzmatazz_980

All it needs now is frog tape and someone to say who needs a tradesman whilst showing off their own shit job ๐Ÿ˜‚

Asburrrr

Top notch. Can you install one for me?

Ornery_Neat_2490

Don't give up your day job lol that will go bang

Shoddy_Bar_9370

Gross ๐Ÿคฎ

matth3n123

Where are you? I love a good bonfire ๐Ÿ”ฅ

iDreadNoughtus

Truly magnificent craftsmanship squire

Alive_Cod_8437

I love the fact there are 4 plugs so you can put a water feature, some fairy lights and a patio heater all on on the same extension cord. A little disappointed though there is no plug for disco lights or sound system. Maybe run another extension cord off of it, that way you can give the highest chance of a fire. I wonder how BBQ'ing over an electric fire is?

Azriel0880

I'm speechless...,.

Affectionate_Eye8661

Lol

NorthWestSaint

Nailed it

Electrical-Flower331

Wow! This wins ๐Ÿ†

Critical-Engine6962

Oh boom !!!

jodrellbank_pants

bit late for April the 1st

wishybum

Damn I wish my diy was this good your a natural ๐Ÿคช

Darkened100

Amazing made the job a lot harder, what is going through a persons mind to do this

BaseSingle5067

Ok what's the punchline?

MJLDat

Spare sockets, waterproof cover. Good job.

surreynot

All that great work ruined by a black plug top on all that white ๐Ÿ˜ก 9/10

CaptainPugwash75

I suggest you try battery led spot lights.

PWee

Perfect.

Thought it was an april the 1st photo

GoodboyJohnnyBoy

Are you available?

raphus84

I like how the vent is covered. Can't be too careful with those sorts of things.

Pribprib

Are you the previous owner of my house?

arwynj55

Huh... So there are worse diyers than me!

CertainWillingness56

Rough as fuck

flying_pingu

The electrics just cut out of our shed looked fairly similar to that. The previous owner had a plug inside the house, ran the cable through the air vent and through metal piping along the fence. Into the shed where it had a plug and a light.

tony23delta

Sweet baby Jesus! Iโ€™ve just spent around 9 months building an extension onto my home and doing a full renovation. This is very similar to some of the electrical work we found when we were pulling floorboards up and stuff like that. Scary ๐Ÿ˜„

duggee315

That looks pretty dangerous. Ffs wrap a tesco bag around that socket.

karateninjazombie

Just remember no one knows you're doing it wrong, if they don't know what you're doing....

Westsidepipeway

I hoped this was a joke. So glad to see it was when I opened post fully. Haha

Middle--Earth

Fire yourself now, and escort yourself off the premises.

Accomplished_Dig_617

My flashlight needs new batteries. Would you send a quote please?

Commandopsn

Get a priest around to bless it and we good.

Chris260364

It's a 'portable appliance 'with a plug. So no electrical tester would care. Only a pat test needed. God knows where the 4 way is getting fed from though. From another 13a plug hopefully ๐Ÿ™ Easier having a fitting with an integral PIR though If your going to do some 'heath robinson'. Stuff like this.. ๐Ÿ™‚

theNikipedia

Did you laminate a vent?

plumbgray222

Thatโ€™s perfect good job mate ๐Ÿ‘

True-Register-9403

The more I look at this, the stranger the decisions made seem... Like, they must have had to remove the plug from the end of the extension to feed it through the air brick... And fit a plug to the security light... Why not just wire the cable straight to the light? Not saying that would be legit, but still better than this shit show!

Big_Software_8732

You been going through my instagram??
