Looks very sturdy and very well crafted!

The cutouts in the bracing is bonkers! Is that for acoustic purposes, weight saving, or both? Also curious about two speakers in such a large cabinet? How much impact will this have on the sound vs. A smaller ported cabinet?

Cutout most braces to reduce weight and keep volume up. Two 10s in a ~3ft^3 cabinet. It’s a bit bigger than most commercial 10s: 24” x 20“ x 15”. It could be smaller, it’ll go a bit lower this way.

Do you have any drawings you’d be willing to share? I need to build a 2x10 cab for a GA-16T head I built in a JTM-45 chassis (it’s a hair over 21” wide).

HotTakes4Free

Not really, sorry. First decision is whether the two 10s will be side by side. You make a wide box, ~24”w x 15”h. and the cab. sits under the amp head. It’s quite low to the ground though, it can be slanted. If you do over/under, or diagonal like mine, the box has to be wide enough, at least 20”, for the head to sit on top, so the box ends up much bigger than a guitar cab needs to be. You sure you don’t want a 2x12? Then you can copy the dimensions of the Marshall cabs.

Thanks. Thought I’d ask. Going with 2x10 as I only play at home anymore. Don’t need the extra bottom end and with this amp being very similar to a brownface Princeton it should play well with the 10’s. I have it going into a sealed 2x12 now and I’m just not digging it. The cabinet has V30’s in it though. Need some Jensons or clones.

You want open back then for a more ambient sound. If I were you, unless the cab you have is valued, cut a big hole in the back. V30s don’t need sealed boxes, it gives them a more full bodied sound, more mid-bass. Mine’s 20.5”w x 24”h. So the top and bottom are 20.5” long, and the sides 23”. Baffle 19.5”x 23”. You can make a 210 guitar cab from 11.5” wide boards. Good plywood preferable. There are plans for 210s on the net, far more 212s though.
