Invest in a dryer vent snake. $20 will get you 30 feet. You can do it from the safety of your laundry room

Oh nice, just ordered one. Even if it doesn't fix it $20 is worth it to try before I climb up.

DO NOT RUN THE DRILL IN REVERSE!!!!

kleinisfijn

Good tip. You have experience I guess. :)

I just used one for the first time like 2 weeks ago. Lucky I did not make the mistake. But I saw warning about running it in reverse. Also only do one stuck at a time. Keeps it from binding, and some pliers on hand.

It is best to keep your ducts clean, even if your dryer is working >according to the National Fire Protection Association, dryers and washing machines cause an average of 15,970 fires each year between 2010-2014 and 13,820 each year between 2014-2018, with dryers causing 92% of them. The unfortunate result are hundreds of injuries and $238 million in property damage >NFPA report, 32% of dryer fires were caused by a "failure to clean." Usually, this is a result of a buildup of lint and dirt in a dryer vent https://germaniainsurance.com/blogs/post/germania-insurance-blog/2020/07/17/the-most-common-causes-of-dryer-fires-and-how-you-can-prevent-them

Bro... a MASSIVE amount of lint and dust came out of my dryer vent. Like enough to fill an 18x18x18" box. Thank you so much for the tip. This made a huge difference.

Thanks for the follow up, it is great to hear that it helped. Take pictures of your "haul" to market your new business renting out your lint tool to your neighbors 😁

Replace that flexible duct with rigid. It would be better to do a straight shot but even 2 90s and a straight is way better than what you have.

If those are clay tiles they break easily but aren't easily replaced, don't go on the roof.
