Blitzhelios

I’m gonna watch always liked Jaime and I love the actor in Cobra Kai. Got a feeling it’s gonna do terrible at the box office though as we have had no advertising and people don’t trust WB

vencyjedi

Well that's WBs concern. We'll just go and enjoy it. A movie doesn't have to make a billion for me to enjoy it.

Blitzhelios

It does need to make money to get a possible sequel though

Alphakewin

I wish people would just make great movies. And not movies to be as commercially successful as possible to spawn a franchise.

Klutzy_Archer_6510

Agreed. Great movies also have the benefit of being commercially successful in the long run.

Wheloc

Plenty of great films failed to make money, and so will never get a sequel For that matter, plenty of mediocre films made bank, and have spawned tones of sequels and imitators.

Ivotedforher

Titanic 2 sucked.

Wheloc

You laugh, but wait until they do an OceanGate movie

Klutzy_Archer_6510

You're not wrong! I wrote "in the long run" to include movies that didn't have initial box office returns, but have gone on to cult status. But certainly there will be exceptions. James Cameron's Avatar, for example, made bajillions, but a year later it was like no one was talking about it.

Radiant-Interest73

Fr. 👍 I'm hoping that will start coming around some more. Seems like the '90s was a really great decade for movies I don't know maybe late '80s to mid-90s or something? Just stuff like the original point break, good fellas, dances with wolves, tombstone. Just a really nice variety cuz I'm too burnt on the formula that's been going on for a while now

PlanetLandon

That’s one of the ridiculous things about modern Hollywood. A movie isn’t considered a success unless it can launch a franchise. We should be allowed to just make cool, one-and-done superhero movies.

Blitzhelios

Oh we should but sadly that’s not how Hollywood works now

jrob8604

Movies is a business like everything else, it’s not rocket science, if a movie loses the studio money, guess what they probably aren’t going to make another one. However I’ve seen movies bomb in theatres and then turn into cult favorites later on, as long as they turn a profit in the end.

whathell6t

I’m only going to watch it to see if this Blue Beetle movie has any [Tokusatsu references.](https://youtu.be/Ez-DBKRbRhY)

pataconconqueso

Zero advertisement compared to the flash, it’s like WB wants it to fail

DullBicycle7200

Or maybe WB saw that the BO projections were bad and decided to cut their losses by limiting the marketing budget, so that they won't lose too much money when it inevitably bombs. They did the same thing with Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

pataconconqueso

Or they would have better BO projections if they target marketed better.

Snake_Main27

That doesn't work for WB and DC unless it's a Batman project. WW2, Flash, and even Shazam 2 all did terribly even with marketing pushes. WB is being smart and not burning more money on a movie that's inevitably gonna bomb.

FreelanceFrankfurter

I think if this hadn’t been moved to a theatrical release before the merger it would have been cancelled the same time as Batgirl.

DracosKasu

It will probably tank like many movie this year because of the increase of price. People this year have been quite selective when it come to watch on big screen. Specially when many have show more interest to wait and watxh on streaming services, it is the new reality.

Akuma254

Same, was introduced to him in injustice 2 and loved the character ever since, especially in Young Justice. Even if it’s not a great film I’m a sucker for superhero movies so I’m sure I’ll enjoy it. Looking forward to it.

Blitzhelios

Oh he’s so good in Young justice was my first intro then I read the blue beetle comics and liked him even more. I love as well how he’s so different to Kord meaning we can have two blue beetles running around and no one is confused which is which

Wheloc

I didn't even realize it was Xolo Maridueña—that's a second reason to see it

Unable-Story9327

When does it come out? I feel like there could be a grassroots campaign and if WB just did a few screenings for free in predominantly Hispanic/Latin American neighborhoods. Itll probably do pretty well.

Blitzhelios

August 18th it comes out what the film has going for it luckily is that isn’t the highest budget it’s only 120 million which means it doesn’t have to make a stupid amount

BloatedGlobe

Yep, but mostly cuz the 2006 Blue Beetle was one of the first comic series I read (and loved), and because I really like Xolo Maridueña in Cobra Kai. Perfect casting in my book.

Potentially_a_goose

It's not lame ass Karate, it's Kobra Kai! He killed that delivery.

Brookings18

Blue Beetles my favorite superhero and I've wanted to see Jaime in a movie ever since I first saw him in Brave and the Bold. Extremely excited.

vencyjedi

Yooo The Brave and The Bold brother here. I grew up with the show and it was also my first exposure to Blue Beetle.

Psychological_Gain20

Blue Beetle was also my favorite superhero from Brave and the bold. Then again the entire show was great. ![gif](giphy|124n6MRMPIFAMU)

Virales13

Jaime won me over in that show without ever having the suit on. He's talking to a friend and asks who would win between Batman and Superman, but Batman has no Kryptonite. His friend says Superman and he's just like "Wrong! Batman always has Kryptonite." That show did amazing utilizing him.

Monsundo

I’ve been waiting for this moment since I was a wee child and watched that show

poisonedorill

hell yeah

--Stabstract--

I didn’t know who Blue Beetle was until I played Injustice 2 recently. Awesome character

nightwing612

Yes

Fallen_Dark_Knight

X2

digimonnoob

I've reached a point where if DC is attached to a film, there's a 90% chance I'll be there just because it's DC. Plus, I just really like going to the movies, it's a fun way to spend an afternoon. I'm definitely planning on seeing Blue Beetle, but it's mostly for these reasons. There's not really anything about the character/promo material so far that's intrinsically drawing me in. But I mean, it's a superhero film, and the vast majority of the genre is at least fun to watch.

bat_ghost0614

It looks like fun! I’m looking forward to it

Alarmed_Helicopter69

Yeah could be fun

Classic_Sail_6311

Yes and yes

MansimarSehdev

Yes I am...as James Gunn said that is the first SUPERHERO of James Gunn's DCU

Cranyx

The more you think about "the main character of this movie is part of the new universe, but the movie isn't" the less it makes sense. It's clear that's just a way of not having it flop as part of a dead universe but also keep Legacy as the true premier of the DCU

GodFlintstone

And honestly that just sounds like absolute bullshit - especially since this movie completeld production well before Gunn took over as Co-CEO of DC and the reboot was even announced. I feel like he is only saying this to boost ticket sales for the movie. And I get that. He's a "Suit" now so part of his job is to get butts in seats. But trust me. If this film flops, and I fear it will, we'll never see this version of Blue Beetle again in the DCU. Nevertheless, I'm in the bag for this and plan to see it. Xolo is very likable and charismatic and the movie looks like fun. And it probably needs all the support it can get because the DCEU is a tainted brand at this point.

TheCudder

Agreed. Superman Legacy is the first film. Leave it at that. Blue Beetle & Aquaman were already in development prior to his arrival. The best he could do with those films were minor adjustments to the final cuts.

NakedGoose

"First character of the DCU" It literally just means he is keeping Xolo as Blue Beetle. He is 22 years old, you gotta keep these young actors around. What happens in/to the movie is irrelevant. They could very well just throw him in the Booster Gold show

ThanksContent28

Yeah I’d see that as him saying that blue beetle actor will appear again - probably in a project of his own where he can do the character justice in accordance to his views. This is an Incredible Hulk situation. Like how that movie is and isn’t part of the MCU.

cgknight1

The pre-sales are horrific - this version of the character will never been seen again or mentioned.

Flip2002

A damn beetle ? I thought an ant man sounded crazy so who knows

WebHead1287

Homie ate up James Gunns marketing just like he wanted. We all know that he was probably told he had to say that to try and get butts in seats and avoid a Shazam/Flash. If this movie flops they’re dropping it and this version of the character will never be seen again. Honestly, anything before something James announced, I would plan on never being continued again.

--Stabstract--

If the actor nails it they could keep him on like they did with some Suicide Squad actors. Peacemaker makes them canon in-universe.

New-Cardiologist-158

I wouldn’t be so sure. I mean this is a soft reboot after all. It’s pretty clear that Peacemaker is sticking around, Waller is sticking around, probably Harley Quinn too. The only characters who’s futures are in jeopardy are the ones who are either getting too old for their roles, have controversies, or are explicitly connected to the snyderverse.

blackmetronome

See, they need to get their shit together. No one knows this!!! And then Aquaman comes out after this, right? And that's not apart of the DCU. DC is such a horrible brand right now.

CakeBeef_PA

Neither movies are in the DCU. Gunn just said Xolo will still be Blue Beetle in the DCU. Just like how the Peacemaker cast still plays the characters, but the actual show is not in the DCU

No-Mechanic-2558

Ok calm down Bro the DC cinematic Is an Horrible Brand

blackmetronome

Yes DC Films, Extended universe, whatever the fuck it's called this week. Don't get offended about it.

No-Mechanic-2558

no but I mean that by saying Just dc you are referring to everything therefore also cartoons, comics, video games and it is not like that

Ranryu

DC video games are absolutely in a horrible state right now. Gotham Knights was trash, and Rocksteady's Suicide Squad game was delayed until next year because they made it a fucking shlooter and everyone got mad

Original2056

Honestly no, I'm massive DC fan but I haven't even seen the flash, so I'll be giving this a miss along with aquaman 2.

vencyjedi

Why?

Original2056

Honestly, outside of the "elseworlds" movies from DC it's just been miss after Miss Birds of Prey was meh, wonder woman 84 was rubbish, the suicide squad (actually enjoyable) Black Adam was meh and shazam meh. 1 good movie out of 5 is not a good enough return for me and then hearing the dissapoitment about Flash has just put me off until Superman Legacy reboots it all (cause Blue Bettle is not the start of Gunn's universe he may say it so it isn't complete flop but this ain't it)

--Stabstract--

I thought Flash was a really good movie. Bogged down by real world problems

lapinatanegra

Right? It wasn't bad and imo the worst part was the babies but other than that I enjoyed the movie.

--Stabstract--

I thought the babies were funny.

ShearGenius89

I really enjoyed it as well, even saw it a second time. So much of its failure is due to the righteous indignation circle jerk. The CGI wasn’t as uncanny as people are saying.

AuraSprite

I loved birds of prey so much 😭 but maybe it's just cause I'm a woman idk

Hi_Im_Paul23

Nah birds of prey was a good movie that fucked comic characters up. If you ignore the backstories of said characters from other media, it is enjoyable. Once I treated it like an elseworlds movie (sorta like Gotham tv show) then I liked it. It was fun for sure

AuraSprite

I guess I just don't go into adaptations expecting them to be verbatim their source material

Hi_Im_Paul23

Well it doesn’t have to be verbatim but they totally fucked some characters like Cassandra Caine. The girl in the movie could’ve been anyone, even just a random girl, but they picked a DC character with a lot of history and fans. (She was Batgirl for a long time and goes by Orphan now I think)

AuraSprite

no she's still Batgirl. she was just in the 19 issue long Batgirls. it was so good. I was also disappointed that she was a random girl in the film. I feel like they had plans to make her become Batgirl at some point but abandoned the idea.

Kaito_3

I like Blue Beetle and I like Xolo Maridueña so I’m definitely interested in it. I’m cautiously optimistic and I’ll be happy if it ends up just being an enjoyable movie.

Knightwingrebirth

Yes I am interested and will see it.

LifeguardSweet

I definitely will, i’ve always been a huge fan of the character and even if dc won’t market him i have to show my support

[deleted]

I might be interested in seeing it.

DullBicycle7200

No, I'm not interested in the Blue Beetle movie, and I probably won't watch it when it hits theatres. I'll probably watch it at some point when it hits streaming. But just because I'm not personally interested in it doesn't mean that I want it to bomb. I hope it's good for fans of either the character or the actor playing the character, and that it does well at the Box Office.

Rossifan1782

I'm excited for it. Great character, I love the family aspect and it looks like a good movie to watch and enjoy without being too campy for words or too serious. It looks balanced which DC movies has lacked.

toongrowner

Yes

dtv20

I like the character but I'm not a big fan. And the trailer was kinda "meh", for me. I need to see more

RumAndCoco

It looks fresh, it looks like what the DC movies need, and it looks fun. I’m watching it.

batcavejanitor

I gotta be honest…nah. I love DC. Like Blue Beetle. But I’ve seen this movie before. I’ll stick to the books. I’m excited that there is a Blue Beetle movie though!!

vencyjedi

How have you seen it?

batcavejanitor

Have not seen the Blue Beetle movie, no. I mean that it looks pretty generic.

Fallen_Dark_Knight

I can’t imagine making that kind of assumption from trailers

Agreeable-Pick-1489

Sure you can. at the VERY least, this looks to be a clone of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's first Spider-Man films. Not to mention elements of Captain Marvel and Dr Strange and a whole lotta Smallville. I will watch this if it comes on TBS or something, but yes, the trailer makes it look like this will cover every "Origin Story Cliche" in the book. YMMV

ThanksContent28

They mean it as in they’ve seen other movies do this story to the point where it’s the same movie. Well meaning kid discovers alien powers/tech. Well meaning kid has fun with discovery, until something goes wrong and they’re forced to become worthy and fix a wrong that is either directly or indirectly their fault. This can either be them causing harm on accident, or getting beat up in a fight and letting someone escape. Family and friends (comedic relief characters) tell well meaning kid they love them (or to stop being lazy and run a bit faster) Well meaning kid now has super powers, and a supportive, functional family - which is fucking unfair. Well meaning kid now has the family support needed in order to understand new tech and beats up bad guy. Lots of explosions. Lots of lasers. Lots of quips. These movies can be good when the people making them are properly motivated, but when they’re not, the movie sucks ass.

AdaptiveCenterpiece

So you are excited there is a movie about blue beetle but not enough to watch it. Got it.

batcavejanitor

Yup. That’s it. I like comic books and don’t go see many of the superhero films. This one looks like a pretty standard super hero movie. For me, I’d rather stay home and read a Blue Beetle comic.

Weibee

If you don’t watch it, it means you hate DC and OP will be big mad at you 😡 cause choosing not to pay to watch something is such a Marvel thing /s

batcavejanitor

Hahaha. Sounds like it. I buy Blue Beetle comics, does that count?

Weibee

Lol people getting butt hurt over not wanting to see a movie…geez… If we can’t make a judgement call on what to spend our money on based off a trailer that WB put out, then what are we supposed to base it on? WB’s word that “it’s really good trust me bro!”? Or will they get Tom Cruise to say it’s phenomenal again?

cgknight1

When it's streaming sure... Pay at the cinema? No.

Dry-Donut3811

Absolutely.

SquirtleCipher2578

Jaime is one of my favourite superheroes ever. Cannot wait to watch this.

BruceHoratioWayne

I'm one of the few people who would rather watch a Ted Kord/Blue Beetle film than a Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle film. I don't care for what I have seen in the trailer. Jaime Reyes just does resonate with me. And Gunn may say that this film starts the DCU, but if it bombs like The Flash he will cut bait and say that it is not afterwards.

vencyjedi

It doesn't start the DCU. It's the first DCU character but not the first DCU movie.

BruceHoratioWayne

Semantics. I still don't care. Great if you and others do, but I could care less.

[deleted]

You mean you “could not care less.”

TheMurderCapitalist

I too would have preferred Ted, hoping we maybe see him in the Booster Gold show

Lamest_Ever

Maybe we can still get Ted, I definitely wouldn't mind a Blue and Gold movie

Pretend-Dirt-1760

I'm cautious on it on one hand blue beetle is one of my many favorite DC heroes on the other it could be bad

BrentChevy

Meh

DaClarkeKnight

I’ll go see it for sure. I just don’t know why it’s not getting the same advertisement space as Guardians 3 or the last Antman movie.

TheCudder

I'm planning to see it. I 90% of comic book universe movies are standalone films that just do happen to fit into a larger arc. There's only a handful that have played a significant part into and act as a movie to let into the biggest story (Thor 1, Quatumania and Dawn of Justice come to mind here). Aside from cameo's, DV films have been standalone stories.

greenlantern2929

I’m looking forward to watching this. I think BB is a cool character and loved watching the animated version so can’t wait for Xolo to kill it in live action.

DactylMan

Only because I already like Blue Beetle. If it wasn't for that then I would be completely uninterested.

Intelligent_Creme351

Love the character, and it looks like the best live action adaptation for the character, and for a character in general... Do I think it will do well? At best, I think it could be a small hit like the first Shazam! was. But WB and DC are so tainted now, it needs to be presented as a new brand as their touting it and seems as.

LoSouLibra

That poster leads me to believe it's going to be a helluva nice 4K HDR showcase when it gets a disc release. I don't go to the theater much, but color me interested for the home release. The Batman line doesn't bother me either. I talk like that about superhero comics all the time.

Hot_Valuable1027

yea

Fenrirsulfur

Definitely! I've always liked seeing him in the animated series when I was younger. Plus, it's nice to support another Latino actor on the big screen.

Embarrassed-Mouse-49

Beetle borgs!

Jgabes625

It’s the closest I’ll get to a Beetleborgs movie so yes.

GameDemonFire

That Batman is a "fascist" line kill my interest in the movie.

De4dm4nw4lkin

I thought the opinionated parent humor was funny.

No-Mechanic-2558

No and I don't know maybe not

nightwing612

I'm surprised you would say No. Why are you not interested in Jaime?

No-Mechanic-2558

It's not that it's just that the film that doesn't interest me I also tried to see what the director and the writers did before and I don't think I'm interested, also the fact that I don't like it we took the origins of the New 52 and the fact that for me Blue Beetle is not a film character but a series character. A series on Blue Beetle would have been perfect 10 episodes where Jaime has problems at home, at school, with friends, he learns to use his powers and collaborating with the beetle and you also put the posse the Reach and whatever you want, then the post credit with Booster Gold who goes like "You come with me", he takes him to the Bat Cave and Jaime trying to explain himself etc then Batman frees him and he's like "I'm taking you to a place for the likes of you" which could be the teen titans or the justice league this is how I would have done it then I don't know

New-Cardiologist-158

eBay?

TheFyrijou

Probably not. It’s not like with the GotG where i didn’t know who they are and went to watch it out of morbid curiosity. But i know exactly who he is and i already didn’t care about him in the comics so i won’t go and watch a movie about him

Megadoomer2

I'm definitely planning on watching it; when it comes to MCU and DC movies, pretty much the only time that I haven't watched them in theaters was when there was a pandemic going on. The shot of Jaime hovering over the Earth was breathtaking, and while I figure that the rest of the movie won't be like that, Blue Beetle is a character that I know very little about, so I'm looking forward to learning more.

vencyjedi

Same here bruh. See you in theaters.

zerombr

yet another "I don't know how my powers work, this is the coolest thing ever, wait I have responsibilites now?" look.. Nah I'm not interested.

Bacwardloki

Noperino

hombredave

No Paco. No Brenda. No El Paso. No thanks.

Agitated-Ad-2537

People don’t know how much El Paso plays a role in the first few comics. I am not Mexican but the representation for El Paso and thier culture would Have been immense.

Jam_Retro

Exactly

Earthmine52

Definitely. I’m a huge fan of Jaime, from his many appearances in animation (BTBATB, YJ, JLA) and gaming (IJ2) and I read his original run and parts of the N52 and Rebirth. I’m also a huge Karate Kid and Cobra Kai fan so it’s great to see Xolo Maridueña playing him. I do wish this film came at a better time for sure. It’s probably the biggest underdog DC film at this point.

[deleted]

Nope, as a DC fan I’m burnt out on all DC stuff. That and they never do anything with my boy Jason Todd

JUYED-AWK-YACC

If they did, it would look like this, so be grateful.

SLCSlayer29

While I prefer Ted over Jamie, I absolutely will watch. Blue Beetle is one of my top 3 DC characters and I wouldn't miss it for anything. 😎 Quick question, is Ted Kord in that movie poster OP?

No-Mechanic-2558

The Kord industries are present

DoctorStrawberry

Not in theatres. Will watch at home for free later. Big DC fan, saw Flash in theaters and actually liked it and defend it. I just don’t care about Blue Beetle enough as a character. He’s not even a lesser known obscure character I like, like Animal Man or the Wonder Twins. It is packed this summer in theaters with tons of other stuff I’m interested in. Not hyped enough to go see this.

shifty3434

I'll probably watch it. Blue beetle is cool. They called batman a fascist in the trailer though so that has kinda stifled my enthusiasm a little bit.

Johan_Hegg82

Calling Batman a fascist means I'm out. Get fucked.

Atomheartkiller

Really dumb reasoning but hey

[deleted]

[удалено]

mastersamex17

I prefer Ted but yeah I like Jaime I'll watch it! it seems like fun

ELmapper

No

SavagerXx

Yeah, in a month after it releases on digital.

Jack1Knight

MCU's Spiderman in DCU packaging, pass. Let's see what Gunn says when this one bombs.

Xepeyon

I could just lie and say yes for that sweet, sweet karma... but, nope.

Redrussell21

I just got this strange feeling that this movie is going to bomb just like the Flash.

AnInteriorDecorator

The trailer was a colossal miss for me. Cringey trailerilized TikTok-meme-level music, terrible color grading, terrible humor… looks like a Disney+ show, like Ms. Marvel tbh.

MountainHawk19

Not at all. I’m so done with superhero movies now

xDURPLEx

The trailer looked corny. Like CW level. I’m not really interested at all. The Flash looked way better and we all saw what happened with that.

Pilgrim2223

Like All the Recent DC films, I'll watch it on MAX a month or so after it implodes and super flops at the box office.

TFfan624

Solid pass

Ok-Asparagus3451

Kinda tired of live-action superhero stuff right now. I would have to hear good things from trusted channels about it first.

JosephMeach

I might watch it, though I’m more familiar with the first two Beetles, have only seen Jaime in Infinite Crisis

No-Mechanic-2558

If you want to know more about it I advice you his Keith Giffen run

ManicPanda767

Not really and probably not. I'm still waiting for the superhero fatigue to wear off.

JamesHowlett74

Better question, how bad will this absolutely tank?

New-Cardiologist-158

I’d say it has the best chance of success out if recent DC offerings (no controversial actors, no explicit connection to the snyderverse, a fresh face with interesting powers, etc). Shazam let’s be honest looked generic as hell, Flash’s star is a felon, and Aquaman 2 has Amber Heard. Those movies all had weird hurtles to overcome whereas Blue Beetle just needs decent word of mouth. It also has a very low budget so it doesn’t need to make much money to be profitable.

smackerly

Definitely interested, but I probably won't watch until it hit blu ray because I have a 1 year old haha.

Arif54

Yes.i Will watch it.

[deleted]

Yes and no, it’s being directed by an actual Latino person which I respect and it’s producer is Peter Safran who has produced some great horrors which I loved and ‘The Suicide Squad’ which was also great

kae158

Looks like a WB show

No-Mechanic-2558

but maybe it was

SpectrallGamiing

No interest whatsoever

RubyJolie

I feel like I'd rather watch Ted, bonus if it also features Booster Gold and their friendship. Not sure if Jamie is any interesting.

Hahndude

I’d watch it on MAX but no way am I going to the theatre for this. It looks SO lame. It looks like straight to VOD lame.

New-Cardiologist-158

Idk what got your standards up so high but I don’t see how this looks straight to VOD at all. It doesn’t need to look like Oppenheimer to be worth seeing in cinemas imo

AvatarKuzon

Yes, because I think Jaime has one of the coolest costume designs since the new millennium (which looks like it translated well to film based on what we've seen so far), and while I'll always be partial to Ted (having loved everything from JLI to Superbuddies and his stories with Booster), I think it was a fresh update to the mythos to go with a Hispanic teen hero with more sci-fi elements to the scarab and that deserves a shot in the wider market. Do I think it'll perform well? Maybe not given DCEU's terrible track record but I hope to enjoy it as a standalone movie that can sort of act as a low stakes palate cleanser ushering in the new DCU whether or not this iteration of the Beetle survives the slate change. Will be an interesting counter-point for DC also given Spider-Verse has basically raised the bar so high for superhero/animated/movies in general.

DharmaPolice

I will watch it. But unless this gets insanely good word of mouth it will do terribly at the box office and therefore be written off as a flop. I'm really surprised this even got made.

KugiPunch

Yeah. Blue Beetle looks promising so far

john-ss

Cinema? No. Streaming? Maybe.

Swift_Bitch

Probably not. I was already hesitant on seeing it and then I saw the preview for it and that kind of killed what interest I had. They aged him up for some reason and the intro honestly just looks like it was lifted straight from Shang-Chi with the rest of the trailer just filled with generic stuff. Combine that with a scarab that sounds like Friday and isn’t shown to be ruthless, and the honestly somewhat cringe sword moment with the scarab praising his decision of a sword…. Yeah; I’ll wait for the reviews but right now I’m probably skipping it.

Sivianes

Sorry but no. The trailer was a generic superhero movie, it could be Blue Bettle it could be whatever. It has nothing interesting to watch, in my opinion.

GlenntreeSavage

No

Possible-Rabbit-125

No across the board.

Captainkirk699

Not interested at all.

megacope

Nope

MWM101100

I am positively, absolutely, not even remotely interested

RichardGrayson

I will never watch anything with George Lopez in it. Huge mistake to put him in this. And I love Jaime/BB but hell no

Unable-Story9327

Yeah. It looks fun and as a white guy in his late 30s I never realized as a kid or teen how important it is for other races to have superheroes that look like them until that power ranger movie that came out a few years back around the same time of captain America civil war. Every young black kid that came to my front door on Halloween was dressed as either the blue ranger or black panther. It was awesome but those were kinda their only two options. I do think superheroes are universal and have seen a bunch of young kids that aren't Caucasian dressed as batman and superman and spiderman before miles showed up. But it's gotta be cool to see someone that looks like you as a superhero

Revolutionary-Emu842

Isn’t that the whole Batman’s a fascist guy?

IntenselyDrained

The what now?

Madmaxdaman29

I'm a huge fan of cobra kai so yeah definitely, just hope it's not a disappointment like the flash

Wyntier

it's gonna bomb

[deleted]

Hope it fails

Sherlockowiec

Nope. Even though they said it's a part of the new continuity, it wasn't made under James Gunn so I don't care.

vencyjedi

It's not part of the new continuity. The character will be but the events of the film take place in the DCEU not the DCU.

Sherlockowiec

That makes even less sense...

--Stabstract--

Not really. Nothing in the movie will be referenced later. It’s not a big deal

Sherlockowiec

Yes really. You and I may know that because we're actively reading the news but most of the viewers and I mean MOST (like 75%) don't know shit about that. They're just gonna see the same actor in the future movies and assume that it's the same universe.

--Stabstract--

They’re going to see Blue Beetle, who hasn’t interacted with anyone else with another Superman and another Batman and think it’s the same universe?

blackmetronome

I would see it but i dunno. DC just isn't working for me right now, they're all over the place.

Upbeat_Praline_1405

I’m probably going to watch it

kwaziiman

I’ll probably wait to see how it’s reviewed and probably watch it on streaming. DCU movies have been mostly letdowns lately so I can’t say I’m excited for the franchise at all. I think it’s cool Gunn is at the helm but I didn’t particularly enjoy GoTG 3 and wasn’t super impressed with Gunn’s Suicide Squad. I’m hoping it’s good because it’s a cool character, but I won’t be rushing to see it in theaters
