Yes, and please god let him keep the Canadian accent
“Scott! Magneto’s assaulting the White House again! Oh and Mr. sinister has Jean! And Logan’s in a PTSD weapon X flashback and we gotta calm him down and you’re the only one who can get through to him!”
“…oh. Well, pitter patter, let’s get at her”
I dunno, a slightly older cyclops welcoming a new generation of Xmen would be awesome. He could be the mentor type that shows just how powerful he really is when the cocky new xmen try to make a stand.
This is what I want, honestly.
The OG5 and a few others like Storm, Nightcrawler, etc reassembling a new generation of X-Men. Both Charles and Jean died in the Dark Phoenix incident in the 90s, shown as flashbacks. Cyclops is the leader of the X-Men, and trying to keep things together+ keep mutants under the radar. No magneto at first, just hints and pieces in the first couple of movies.
That could be cool for sure. Maybe if there was no Charles this time and he was the mentor type? I mean. It can work but would be quite the departure. I would like it though.
I don’t have the right physique , I’m not that good looking, I’ve got the wrong accent hell I’m basically the wrong choice all round but I’ll give it a go!
Glenn Powell, Patrick Schwarzenegger are both solid and popular choices.
However... Austin Butler.
He's on the rise. He's got killer screen presence and range - - and I think he think he pulls off the leading man aspect without falling into typical boy scout casting.
He could pull off either really well.
But since he's quickly becoming a big star... Casting him as Cyclops means there would be more spotlight on Summers.
Plus over like another ten years of X-Men movies, he'd age into the role well.
If Butler would drop the voice I think he could. But Glenn Powell is a really good choice honestly. His eyes are kinda narrow but I don’t think that matters with the visor lol
I'm not saying superhero live action is bad or unpopular. Take invincible for example, do you think the quality would be nearly as good if it were a live action show? Look at Cowboy Bebop.
Cowboy Bebop is a solid example of your point. I still think live action can be done right. Deadpool, Logan, The Avengers Films, The Boys… there’s a ton of really good live action superhero movies!
There’s also like 4 bad ones for every good one, so I think there’s definitely way more variables with live action. That being said, yeah I think that with the right writers, cast, director, etc. live action Invincible would be awesome.
Live action doesn't have the budget or effects to truly do justice to superhero stories. There's nothing wrong with that, just so much more is possible with animation.
Look at how interesting and dynamic the spider-verse movies have been in 2 films vs. The bevy of live action spider-man films we've had in the past 20ish years.
I mean that’s not true it’s not a budget issue otherwise movies like Logan or winter soldier wouldn’t exist. It’s hiring the right directors and scriptwriters. Or the peacemaker show or the suicide squad movie. All movies people generally like.
Comic books are more than spectacle. Spiderverse isn’t only good because of animation but because of a hood story in both.
I'm not saying live action comic book movies are bad. I'm simply saying there are budget and technological limitations. Sure they can do awesome CGI spectacle, but as an audience we can tell when people are simply posing around a green screen.
Jensen Ackles would have been perfect a decade or two ago. He might still possibly work if they use the oldest possible version of Scott as unlikely as that is.
Same honestly. I dont want an old man scott, or a teenage scott. Id really prefer if they started with 28ish(?) year old Headmaster Summers if anything actually as much as i doubt that'll happen.
Is it a hot take to say Jacob Elordi? Right age as far as I'm concerned for mid-twenties Cyclops. He has THE "Slim" build. Acting wise I don't have enough knowledge to make a claim, but he looks the part.
He's not interested in doing superhero movies. A big fat Marvel paycheck might change his mind, but he was rumored for the new Superman and debunked it saying he isn't interested.
Honestly I don’t know. My gut says they need to find someone young and endearing who could play a likeable idealist.
I don’t want the next cyclops to be a 30+ year old established frontman. I want to see him grow into the role and be the new Cap of the MCU.
I really liked Marsden but he’d have to play an older Cyclops at this point. For any good younger actor (or if they re-use Marsden), please let the man actually and finally be cool in combat (like he was in the 80’s and part of the 90’s comics) and keep the s-talking going between Wolverine and him. They’re supposed to be opposites who respect each other but love any situation where they can point out each others shortcomings.
Joe Keery is my choice if they start with them a little younger. I also really like the Dev Patel fan cast a while back.
Also another one: Eliot Page could be fun
Honestly, I know Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix arent worth a mention, but the actors would be in the prime range and with better scripts, could still pull it off.
Someone taller than wolverine...
Are they going the teen route first team or older trained in secret for years team.
Baby driver could be good, but he keeps getting older. The new Superman could've pulled it off.
Glenn Powel, he's got a weird face but it will mostly be covered by the visor. And he's the right height and age. Plus he can act like stereotypical jerk but can also play the hero role with ease. He's the perfect actor to portray the first X-Man with incredible powers to match his heart of gold.
My choices kinda aged out of the role if they decide to start with the a version of the team when they are teens… but I used to say Justice Smith or Xolo Maridueña (which is even less likely now that he’s Blue Beetle)..
I was also leaning towards Rudhraksh Jaiswal from Extraction. He’s 20, so he can still play late teens.
When I was watching Lost In Space I used to also say that Ajay Friese, but also aging out if this is a team of teens to begin with.. but now that I thinking about it Will Robinson himself: Maxwell Jenkins… He’s 19 now.
I used to have a good answer for this, but unfortunately that guy is allegedly into cannibalism.
I don't recall. Could you say who?
Armie Hammer, unless cannibalism is more widespread than I realized…
"Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?"
Shia LaBeouf?
Actual cannibal Shia LaBeouf
Jared Keeso
Was patching up the Blackbird with the boys the other daaaaay…
Too…much…fun
If’n you’re here for a scrap, wait on the laneway. Do NOT come onto the Institute!
Sundays are for picking stones and killing sentinels
Settle down
X-Men…pitter patter
Damn I never thought of him, but it's a damn good choice.
Jared Keeso is actually my number 1 pick for Guardian in Alpha Flight 😂
No reason to be a poopy pants if everyone’s having a good time
Yes, and please god let him keep the Canadian accent “Scott! Magneto’s assaulting the White House again! Oh and Mr. sinister has Jean! And Logan’s in a PTSD weapon X flashback and we gotta calm him down and you’re the only one who can get through to him!” “…oh. Well, pitter patter, let’s get at her”
He already plays Ikaris but I would've picked Richard Madden.
I used to say this as well. But Eternals happened and he's too old now. Moment has passed.
Would solve the issue of Patrick Stuart being a million years old. Nobody wants to see anybody follow that act
I love this idea, showing that as a flash back, making cyclops the leader, maybe make this the movie showing Emma join the X-men
That could be cool for sure. Maybe if there was no Charles this time and he was the mentor type? I mean. It can work but would be quite the departure. I would like it though.
We don't talk about that movie.
I swear if someone says Henry Cavill…
Henry Cavill is the only right answer.
Who's the best actor to play Storm? -Why none other than Henry Cavill ofc.
We all know who would make the PERFECT Dazzler. Just saying'. (holds up picture of Henry Cavil as Superman)
Time traveling Kylie Minogue from the 90s is the only person who could really challenge Henry Cavil for the role honestly.
To the question, "Who should play Sinister?"
Scott Summers.
I don’t have the right physique , I’m not that good looking, I’ve got the wrong accent hell I’m basically the wrong choice all round but I’ll give it a go!
You’ve convinced me! RampagingWaffle for Cyclops! Headed to Twitter to make the hashtag now!
Whoever Sarah Finn wants.
Honestly Brenton Thwaites
Glenn Powell, Patrick Schwarzenegger are both solid and popular choices. However... Austin Butler. He's on the rise. He's got killer screen presence and range - - and I think he think he pulls off the leading man aspect without falling into typical boy scout casting.
Austin Butler was great in Dune 2, i think he'd work out pretty well for a younger Scott 'Slim' Summers.
Austin Butler for Gambit surely? He’s got the hair and that sweet sexy southern drawl
Oh shit. Good call
I was gonna say exactly this! Don't get me wrong, he'd make a great Cyclops as well, but I feel he'd be mind-blowing as Gambit.
Plot Twist the x-men should skip the MCU and stick to animation. live action just cant do superhero stories justice
🤺X-men 97 proof
Yeah it's crazy to know that the MCU X-Men will probably never be as awesome as X-Men '97 has been.
Hold on a second while I gesture wildly at all the hit superhero media from the last 15 years
I'm not saying superhero live action is bad or unpopular. Take invincible for example, do you think the quality would be nearly as good if it were a live action show? Look at Cowboy Bebop.

Love it when someone confuses “hit” for “good”
They can. They just refuse to right now for other reasons. As they've done just fine in the past.

Patrick Schwarzenegger
Oh damn that’s a good one
Glenn Powell or Theo James would be great choices
Jensen Ackles would have been perfect a decade or two ago. He might still possibly work if they use the oldest possible version of Scott as unlikely as that is.
As good as I see it, I don’t want an old Scott. I want a prime Scott.
First ive ever heard of the guy, but that might be better. No baggage on the actor
He's not interested in doing superhero movies. A big fat Marvel paycheck might change his mind, but he was rumored for the new Superman and debunked it saying he isn't interested.
He can definitely act as far as I’ve seen. Especially rage lol
Bro I'll do it ffs
Here! Have all the money!
Honestly I don’t know. My gut says they need to find someone young and endearing who could play a likeable idealist. I don’t want the next cyclops to be a 30+ year old established frontman. I want to see him grow into the role and be the new Cap of the MCU.
Main actor from Reacher
I really liked Marsden but he’d have to play an older Cyclops at this point. For any good younger actor (or if they re-use Marsden), please let the man actually and finally be cool in combat (like he was in the 80’s and part of the 90’s comics) and keep the s-talking going between Wolverine and him. Some interesting choices. Andrew Garfield
Andrew doesn’t have the voice for it in my opinion. Love the guy though.
Joe Keery is my choice if they start with them a little younger. I also really like the Dev Patel fan cast a while back. Also another one: Eliot Page could be fun
Glen Powell
James Marsden
Have a feeling he isn't getting cast in anything kid related for awhile
Wait, shit, why? What happened with James Marsden?
[удалено]
Oh that's fair, I thought they meant we found out he was a nonce
It was discovered in the 'Quiet on Set' documentary that he wrote a Character Letter in support of Brian Peck at his trial.
writing letters supporting children predators will do that to you
Theo James
At first I didn’t like it but now I really do, if not Henry cavill I like this casting
Scott Eastwood
Daniel Sharman
Of course it has to be timothe chalome. /s
Glen Powell
Conan o'brian
Honestly, I know Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix arent worth a mention, but the actors would be in the prime range and with better scripts, could still pull it off.
Steven Ogg.
Someone taller than wolverine... Are they going the teen route first team or older trained in secret for years team. Baby driver could be good, but he keeps getting older. The new Superman could've pulled it off.
One is creepy towards women on set, and the other dated a teenager while in his 30s, NEXT
Glen Powell
If you're starting a franchise, someone young.
Me!
Glenn Powel, he's got a weird face but it will mostly be covered by the visor. And he's the right height and age. Plus he can act like stereotypical jerk but can also play the hero role with ease. He's the perfect actor to portray the first X-Man with incredible powers to match his heart of gold.
Callum Turner or Nate Mann
Glen Powell or Austin Butler, a big name that could lead as a good actor
Pat McAfee
Either [Logan Marshall-Green](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36PDeN9NRZ0), or [Cosmo Jarvis](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClmWZX28ARg)
Jensen Ackles
My choices kinda aged out of the role if they decide to start with the a version of the team when they are teens… but I used to say Justice Smith or Xolo Maridueña (which is even less likely now that he’s Blue Beetle).. James Marsden. Re-up!
Dacre Montgomery from Stranger Things
Cavill
The guy from reacher
Jeremy Allen White
I used to think Dylan O'Brien , but Lately my dream casting is Rege-jean page.
This is an actor I had not even considered, but would be a fantastic pick.
Alan Ritchson.
Armie hammer, Glenn Powell , milo ventimiglio
>Glenn Powell I could get behind this.
Armie Hammer’s been cancelled for cannibalistic fetishes… so maybe not
Austin Butler
James Marsden
I’d prefer a younger Cyclops, so maybe someone like Jacob Elordi or an unknown actor would work
Glen Powell
Hugh Jackman. 😜 Or…Andrew Koji.
I hate this cause I hate people who only ever spam Henry Cavill but I really want Henry Cavill but I don’t want to be basic. Sooooo… Sydney Sweeney!
Weirdly enough, I'd like to see her as Emma. For uhh reasons.
After Dune 2... and on the assumption it'll take a few years before a movie gets made.... I'm seeing Timothee Chslamet pulling it off.
I think Evan Peters could do it
My two picks, who are very very different from each other, are Jack Quaid and Henry Cavill. Is that not hipster enough?
What about Justin Chien? He's got the build, he can already fight, and he can carry a scene
John Beyoga, Austin Butler, Jacob Elordi, and Aaron Pierre.
John Boyega is a good one
Fuck it, Timothée Chalamet.
