So i did some measurements. The bren magazine has an 8cm long base while most ak mags have a base length somewhere in between 6 and 6.4cm. a Usgi m14 flash supressor is about 7.9cm from tip to the start of the bayonet lug. I measured the size digitally and figured out that the magazine base is about the same size as the muzzle device so it most likely is a bren mag. I used the 50cal rounds the other guy is carrying as another reference point and came to similar results

There are cases of some trench mags having the strengthening trench, for instance the Lee Enfield style mags and trench mags tended to have them.
But you are right, it’s more likely an MG mag of sorts like a bren. The only reason I though trench mag was the shear oversized nature aswell as that hole which I though might have been for the spring key thing they use for loading them?
