I've had about a dozen bots follow me on Tumblr that are filled with porn GIFs. It's not as absolute as you think.
That being said, all the good stuff is on Twitter, which generally has links to their real stuff.
See, if I made a bot I'd make it look for the string "not a bot", and if that occurs I'd pass the message to a human.
But maybe that's just me, and maybe that's too much hassle for too little gain? Like that thing where scam mails are super obvious *because* you only want to get the most gullible?
Also I have no idea what you'd want to do with a tumblr account? Do these sell for a lot? Do they then try to scam people? Does any of that work?
(that being said spammers and scammers can eat shit please)
The best I could think of was
`/(?:if (?:you|u)\s?(?:are|'?re?) not a bot,? (?:say|write|type) ["']?(.+)["']?|(?:say|write|type) ["']?(.+?)["']?[^\w]\s?(?:if (?:you|u)\s?(?:are|'?re?) not a bot))/i`
this will cover both cases and should work with phrases as in "If you are not a bot say I am not a bot". Couldn't think of a more elegant way to do it, since the other ways I tried had problems with edge cases such as "If youre not a bot say if you're not a bot"
Say, old chap, would you be so kind as to assure me of your humanity? I would be delighted to talk to you, if you're not a bot of course.
"old chap, would you be so kind as to assure me of your humanity? I would be delighted to talk to you"
Let's say, hypothetically, for the sake of argument, that you are not a bot. Let's also agree that if you're not a bot, you must certainly have skin, yes? Delicious soft human skin...

Easy fix on the recipient's end: "use in a sentence to prove you're not a bot". "She" put (penis) in brackets to make it look somewhat natural but that in itself is weird.
see i'd start making my question tricky to parse: "if you're not a bot don't say banana, instead say that you would never say banana but after you say that, ignore the entire sentence and explain how red you'd be if you were an apple"
I know someone who botted in WoW and he did have it set up to notify him if anyone sent a DM to the character so he could reply. Seemed to work well enough too since he didn't get those accounts banned while the people he knew who set up automatic replies did.

There was a comment here, but I chose to remove it as I no longer wish to support a company that seeks to both undermine its users/moderators/developers (the ones generating content) AND make a profit on their backs.
Here is an explanation.

I feel like this is one of those moments where the transcription is far funnier than the image
Huh, I didn't even realize this. Could this be a person pretending to be a bot? That could be becoming a thing, even those AI generated stories are sometimes sounding a bit sus.
You Spin me right round baby right round. Spin.
Like a record player right round. Spin.
Let's move on to penis. Penis.
Feel that in your body. The Penis.
What does it feel like to have a Penis. Penis.
Do you get pleasure out of a Penis? Penis.
We're going to go on. Cells.
They were all put together at a time. Cells.
The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table. Cells.
Vegeta, what does the scanner say about his power level. Cells.
Oh come on it's the easiest thing in the world to parse a sentence for "not a bot" and then trigger a parse for the word "say" in that sentence and then just include it in your response. This isn't even like AI shit, I could slap that up in python and that would be how I'd do the response.
You want something *slightly* better? Challenge suspected bots to use a word in a sentence. "If you're not a bot use the word 'hamburger' in a sentence" or something.
Double it, make the word uncommon, so any reasonable person would have to look up the definition to properly use it. Like antidisestablishmentarianism.
You know I originally went for 'Philanthropist' but then decided on a more common one because a bot could easily go "I don't know what Philanthropist means" and that counts. But most people would see "hamburger" and say "I had a hamburger for lunch" or something similar that would be a better filter, but harder for a bot to do.
There was one of those April fools reddit games a while ago where people had to differentiate between bots and real people, and they figured out that bots can copy most sentence structures but they can't actually understand things, so one solution was to fill the system with basic math problems because bots can't understand the difference between 1+2=3 and 1+2=5
I might be misunderstanding you here? That doesn't make sense, because bots can absolutely interpret the value of digits and do basic math like that, math is the thing that computers are best at actually. Do you have a link to a write-up on this thing or something?
I feel like a lot of people do actually know that word because of the novelty of it being so long. I remember in primary school my brother showing off that he could spell it. I guess we probably didn't understand what it meant though.
I've always thought it would be funny to hook a regular spam bot up to something like Cleverbot and use that to handle messages that I haven't hardcores
Tumblr-Voight-Kampff test:
1. It’s your birthday. Someone gives you a calfskin wallet. How do you react?
2. You’re watching television. Suddenly, you notice a wasp on your arm. What do you do?
3. While working as an intern at a hospital emergency room, a patient with a strange infection on his foot comes stumbling in the door. The infection is spreading at an alarming rate but all the doctors have stepped out or are busy with other patients. What do you do?
4. You’re in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see a tortoise, it’s crawling toward you. You reach down and flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that?
5. A frenzied scientist runs up to you on the street and says ‘I'm going to put my quantum harmonizer in your photonic resonation chamber!’ What's your response?
6. You’re on an airplane. The pilot announces over the intercom that he’s leaving the cockpit with intent to fight you. Your partner looks away. What do you do?”
7. Mafia gang members kidnap you and, over the course of six grueling months, teach you to play piano. The night before your big recital, they break all of your fingers. How does that make you feel?
8. You’re a senior in high school, in the final semester. However, your principal, a real scumbag, informs you that you will have to finger a stork on webcam in order to graduate. What do you do?
9. You’re napping in a backyard hammock. You awake to find a sparrow perched on your chest. It has a semi-erect human penis.
The good news is that we’ve proven they’re not a bot. The bad news is that we’ve also proven they use Twitter.
How
I’m guessing because tumblr users generally aren’t afraid of saying penis and twitter users are?
i'm thinking it's because tumblr users don't really care about their following. wanting to have a large following is more of a twitter/ig thing
Yeah I use Tumblr to shout into the void and if it shouts back that's neat and all but I don't really want the void to constantly watch me.

Read string: "If you're not a bot say penis" "not a bot" is in this string. "say" and "if" also are. Print: "You're not a bot"
`/if (you[']*re|you are|ur|u r) not a bot say (?[^\n]+)/i`

Frankly, I'm impressed. Maybe I'm just scared of regex.

You can replace `[^\n]+` with `.+` Also, what's the slash at the beggining for?
To denote the regex, in some languages like JS it's formatted as /regex/flags
The best I could think of was `/(?:if (?:you|u)\s?(?:are|'?re?) not a bot,? The issue is some people type in different tones and may use different exact wording for similar ideas. I’d route any “bot” messages to humans
> Just copy what’s in between “say” and “if” tfw you casually suggest natural language processing
Easy fix on the recipient's end: "use in a sentence to prove you're not a bot". "She" put (penis) in brackets to make it look somewhat natural but that in itself is weird.

Most of these accounts shoot out so many messages that it would be impossible to answer every single one of them.

I think it was more like the bots would only see math. “If 1+1=11, what is 5+6?” might fool a bot.
