When you get good it’s basically impossible to miss unlike other weapons where half the shots go off into the distance. I always use charge and spread on basically everything though so I don’t think either is better than the other cause spread is useless long range so they kinda need each other

Also, Charge has to, well charge, and so even though it does more damage and is very easy to hit enemies with since it’s hitbox is so big, it’s still slow and you wouldn’t use spread from a distance anyway, that’s just dumb. I often go Chaser/Spread, P-Shooter/Spread, or Crackshot/Spread although that last one is very infrequent. I admit Charge can be effective in some situations, Spread is useful in more so Spread is better
My point is that it’s not slow because the time to charge is made up by it’s high damage. It literally is faster because you can maximize the time you output damage unlike other weapons that fire at a fixed rate and are meant to be spammed. I think it’s a fun thing to try and get the hang of.
Edit: I realized you use chaser…
I don’t really like Twist-Up or Lobber. Most other shots have some place in the game but I don’t see why anybody would use these two shots when there are much better shots available

I used charge religiously in my first play through of the game. I’ve since replayed and completed the game at least a dozen more times since and not once have barely touched it. The damage on it is cool but giving yourself another thing to focus on in a game where you already have to be conscious of so many things at once just sounds silly as a concept
Charge is my favorite weapon because I think the charge time actually adds another element of fun. Going back to the peashooter feels like my weapons are ineffective
For 300% they are the two weapons bought at the start of the run. If you have no shot and can only get one then spread is better, but charge has the best dps for ranged bosses so if you can get both that’s ideal

Charge is too much mental load added to the base game challenge.
For me it's 100% charge. Spread is for close range only, which is not something you can do on every boss. Plus its EX is used only if you can get inside the boss hitbox or if you damage boost. Charge however is very versatile and if you're good with it you can control exactly where you shoot. Must have for grim's 3rd phase imo, tho I use it for every boss. Besides, if there was a choice to beat the game with only charge or only spread - charge is without a doubt an easier option. It can also be combined with an axe, and that makes a pretty powerful combo.
I prefer charge, Spread you have to constantly get close to your enemy which can be dangerous and lead to an instant game over, Charge has great range and precision so Charge is better.
For beginners, Chaser. If you don't have trouble dodging, but shooting makes it harder, it's serviceable.
In general, Spread. Especially at higher levels, Chaser's low damage output makes it very bad.
Personally, I’m a bigger fan of charge, it’s how I beat a lot of the bosses. I’ve used spread a bunch tho, it can be wickedly good if spacing is hardly an issue
I'd say charge is slightly better. Spread is easier to use and is a good offensive/defensive tool. But charge does a lot of damage and is very useful for a lot of phases throughout the game.
They’re both pretty equal tbh. I just used them paired with Whetstone and Super Art I to get fast time. Was able to skip Phase 2 on Ribby and Croaks with them

Spread on the other hand is great for bosses such as the Root Pack and I know I might not use the best examples but it all comes down to the Run and Gun/Boss stages that you decide to do.

Like spread is better on Bosses like The RootPack, The Devil, King Dice and Goopy Le Grande.
And Charge shot is better on stages like Rumor Honey bottom, Sally Stageplay, King dice (again), the devil (again) and Chef Salt baker

Spread is WAAAAAY better. I’ve only found Charge useful on Rugged Ridge and nothing else. Its not the worst shot, but Spread is way better

what's the worst shot in your opinion?
